Walmart stores don't sale that many DVDs. Amazon sales way more movies on DVD. Online stores are the best places to look for DVDs, you can find much more.
If they do end up managing SDS, I don't think that they will actually ramp up physical media, I think it just means we're kind of safe for now and Walmart won't get rid of physical media altogether like Best Buy did anytime soon.
Definitely a possibility. That’s good news at least, that they won’t lose the physical media. I wonder why so many people thought they were going to be ramping up physical media?
There is absolutely no need to worry about the future of physical media as long as it's being created. The success of local retailers has nothing to do with the future of physical media. If there is product, someone will find a way to sell it, both digitally and physically. I have purchased both digitally and physically without problems for decades, save a few rotted and non-playable discs, which actually goes to show you that sometimes physical media doesn't survive longer than your digitally purchased tites.
