As I living in the United States of America as I don't pay any money for any streaming services as my streaming services are free to download and free to watch with ADS on the streaming apps that came with the Sony Android Smart TV as I downloaded them with Android App store ,and I have been a Collector of Physical Media since I've been a teenager as now I'm 41 years old as I have a thousand DVDS,Blu-ray Disc Movies with two Blu Ray,DVD,CD Disc Players connected to one Sony regular TV from the 2014 and the other one is old ten years Sony Smart Android TV that update it self with the latest hardware and software updates so I didn't need to buy a new TV as it has free internet TV I have thousand free streaming TV channels with with my antenna metal rabbit ears TV as I have like thirty over the air free channels and a thousand free streaming internet channels as well as nine free TV shows and free movies streaming apps that came with the Sony Android Smart TV all I had to do was buy a enhanced chip TV antenna with metal rabbit ears to get the local channels for free!

I love your optimism,, but it seems to me streaming services like Netflix have no interest in physical media. They just want the money and they want you to only have to go to them.

I 100% agree. There is definitely still a place for streaming in a collector's world. For me, I only keep 1 and alternate between the streaming services every few months as it also gives me time to enjoy my collection at the same time. I like streaming for watching new and old films I never watched before and alot of tv shows. I don't buy alot of tv shows soo I stream them mostly.

Absolutely NOT! On the other hand casual moviegoers abandoned physical media to stream. And the younger generation just streams. Maybe their parents were not collectors. But I must admit for people with a very tight budget benefit from streaming. I know this young woman who's a horror fan she said she streams everything and owns nothing. At least she's realistic. Many streamers or people who "buy" movie digitally think that movie or show is theirs. Well sorry to break it to you guys but you own nothing. Streaming and buying a movie digitally is just pay-per-view you only watch. You have nothing in your hands. Physical media☝️

It does for me. It helps me avoid blind buys sometimes. Especially with Criterion movies. There's lots on TCM & Tubi

I watch streaming to see if I like a movie if I do I buy the Blu-ray 4K or dvd depending on what the movie or show is on

What’s everyone’s last Criterion pickups of the season?

Great vid, Mike. I actually did my last Criterion hunt this morning. I picked up Seven Samurai After Hours Night of the Living Dead Le Samourai All on 4K. I noticed quite a few title were no longer there since the last time I went. Which is a good thing because that means people are getting out to B&N and keeping physical media going. I already can't wait for the Criterion Collection flash sale in March!

I would only be picking up is the original Godzilla movie on Blu-ray Disc and 4k Blu Ray Disc at Barnes and Noble!

The animals CGI look wonky? Back in the day they'd use real animal. Animals need work too but technology took their parts away. I liked the first one a lot. I'll definitely buy this one physical. Glad you enjoyed it bro!👍

Personaly I’m not really big into double dipping for example I already own Willy wonka and the chocolate factory on 4k, and im not truly interested in the new 4k limited edition steelbook of it that’s coming out on november 29th, but I do like the new coverart.

Happiness is actually a pretty good dark comedy, you might want it because they dont make movies like that anymore. a Friend and myself caught it one late night not knowing anything about it. We were super baked though, we were disgusted and laughed our asses off. Sometimes both, sometimes just plainly disgusted and horrified. I personally say go for it. Dark comedies today are tame compared to that movie. It's actually got a very high profile cast of actors and actresses. But I can understand if someone skips it today, one of it's themes is a very dark subject matter. Back then it was fine to portray that subject matter in dark comedies and other genres. Not today however, so i get it when that puts someone off from an entire movie

We Were Soldiers is a great war flick. It's really puts you right in the action. It is based on true events.

Its good news that bluray's & 4ks are doing good on the market sales charts. But there is room still for them both do better on the market chart sales. But first these three things need to happen first (1) release more streaming films either on bluray or 4k (2) more availability & wider releases of first time catalog titles being released either on bluray & 4k (3) more reasonable price tag range for bluray & 4k releases. And lastly the studios need to surport bluray's & 4ks more then they are doing now

Just wanted to share with you Mike that today is my birthday! I’m 47 now.

my local B and N is far too long a distance from me, though I do have a Walmart close by. Walmart delivers right to my door from my local store. Or They have 2-3 day usual Fed Ex delivery. Amazon is here daily making deliveries. I enjoyed Best Buy to shop, last time I was there they had tvs, air conditioners, microwaves and stoves and washer machines but no DVD, OR Blu-Ray or 4k.
