  • For the first time in U.S. history, women are more likely to have a college degree than men. At the same time, these women are delaying motherhood longer and getting pregnant later in life, with the help of cutting edge technology. Lisa Ling investigates how women are having babies from frozen eggs.

    I was ridiculed so much when I had my son at 23. I was married and had a college degree. Now my son is 18 and I’m only 41. He’s off to college and I’m doing a road trip next month with my husband. Most of the women who ridiculed me are barren or divorced without kids. To each their own.

    Young woman gets married, has children and stays home to raise her children= no one profits but her family.
    Young woman goes to college( accrues tons of debt), gets a "career" (pays taxes), then eventually has to freeze her eggs or try medical interventions to get pregnant ( super expensive), sends kid to day care or hires nanny ( more money spent, taxes paid) = government profits

      Exactly , Olden era of Man bringing Bacon back home while women stay home being a home maker. Golden age where life changing technologies were build like Planes and Light bulbs. However , Elitist and Greedy governments had a Problem, they cant tax women staying at home.
      To trick women to get out of the house to slave for the government , they have to find a bunch of bitter women or man hating women, they are definitely easier to buy a lie , sold by the government that men hated women, Feminism. These Feminist funded by government , would then went around spreading cancer to all the female species.
      Boom .. the revenue went up by another 50%. Feminism is the most misogynistic ideology that tricked and enslaved all women to do the role of all Male traditional role and at the same time giving birth. Now they even have egg freezing technology to milk women's hard earned money.

    It's so funny. I got married at 22 and had my first child at 26. My goal was to be done having kids by 32 so that they'd all be out of the house by the time I was 50. Done! I used to envy all my peers that were still out partying and traveling, but not anymore. Now, while my kids are all in school, and my eldest is on the cusp of puberty, all of my friends from high school and college are either having babies or trying to get pregnant. While there might be some advantages to delaying a family, I think they're outweighed by the disadvantages, for either gender:
    1. There is the whole biological issue for women. But while men can father children at any age, there is slightly more risk of genetic disorders as well as a lower sperm count the older he is. I know, that last part is absolute heresy among the Red Pill community.
    2. While it can be argued that older parents can give their kids more material goods, I would argue that it's actually good for the kids to be around for the lean times. If they remember the tiny apartment or the run-down house, they'll appreciate the good times more. If they get the idea that Mom and Dad have always had the nice stuff, it will set them up for disappointment when they first get out into the world.
    3. Taking care of small children is physically demanding, and you just have more energy when you are younger.
    4. If you and your parents and your children all have their families in their early twenties, you're going to get to see a lot more generations of your posterity. In subcultures where having kids older is the norm, you'd be luck to see your grandkids graduate high school, whereas, in areas where having family when you're younger, you might even get to see your great-grandkid graduate high school.

    • @kowalski4130
      @kowalski4130 5 років тому +29

      @ Andrielle Hillis And the disadvantages of having children include less freedom, more bills, more stress, you may say you'll be lonely when you get older but I've seen plenty of old aged parents dumped into nursing homes and barely ever visited, and to be honest you are tearing someone out of peaceful non existence into a cruel meaningless world filled with disease, suffering and inevitable old age, sickness and death just so your DNA can be passed on, in truth the earth is a very hostile planet, people only have children because they are slaves to their DNA which only cares about continuosly copying itself it does not care if we suffer or not, logically leaving someone in peaceful non existence is the most loving option, rather than bringing someone into this meat grinder of a world, but people like to lie to themselves and think life is a gift and the world is all sunshine and rainbows.

    • @StarboyXL9
      @StarboyXL9 5 років тому +17

      The beautiful part? Now that you've started a family while you were young and at your peak, once your kids are no longer a problem you can start a career. Unlike what people seem to think, unless you're going into trucking or roofing, youth is not the end-all be-all of building a career.
      As for the so-called "heresy". No. Just no. lol. Like a typical woman you're projecting your feelings and perspectives onto men. We are different "sweetheart". Our minds don't work like yours, and we are not the slaves of our emotions. We recognize that we men hit The Wall too. The difference is that while women hit the Wall at 30, we men hit it around 60. That's 30 more years we can reproduce and create healthy children risk-free.
      Unlike women, the men of the Red Pill community are more than willing to embrace the truth, regardless of whether or not it is in our favor on one particular thing or not.

      Exactly. You can dedicate your entire life to your career or your family you can't do both. Chose wisely. And to those that say men have been choosing careers for thousand's of years. And to those men that have given 100% of their time, energy, desire to their work/career how was their family life? Did they see/spend any quality time with their kids as they grew up? Did their wife cheat on them because they where never home? Remember if you give 100% of yourself to a career you have 0% for family, God, hobbies, or anything else. So as you grow up learn what you want and learn what it takes to get those things, and make the choices to get those things. But realize if you make your time/energy/desire pie chart 100% of anything then there is 0% for anything else.
      There's a difference between having a job and giving 110% to be the best at your job. To climb the ladder at your job. To be the best at a job. If you wanted a family maybe just get a job and give 100% when you are there and don't take overtime, don't request overtime, don't keep taking promotions getting more responsibility. Maybe just get a job, be good at it make the middle pay instead of the top pay and maybe don't try to have EVERYTHING materialistically and if you want a family maybe spend time with them? But that's just my thoughts on it.

Meanwhile India do not and there's still expectation for women to stay at home birthing numerous children so their economy is not as good as China.

    I am male. And even back in basic school, I knew that I wanted to be done with becoming a father around 30. Many friends asked me - why?
    We knew not much about the effects of age on female fertility and especially I did know very little. But I knew one thing. I wanted to be a father to several children and in my young mind, a father should be young to keep up with the kids.
    Probably because my father was rather old, in my eyes.
    Anyway, my answer always was the same: "I want to be able to enjoy my life after the kids are out of the house and about 50 you are still young enough to do the interesting things."
    Today, I still feel the same. However, as my ex robbed me of my fatherhood years, today I would consider becoming a father once again. Even if I would never see grandchildren in the time I have left.

    I'm 36, female, and want a child but don't want it bad enough to go through all these procedures/process. If I happen to get pregnant naturally, then that's awesome! But if not, then I'm okay with being child less. I can always get a dog, be happy with my partner (just the two of us), or adopt (but I'm not interested in this route). Plus I already have three nieces and two nephews, and I have brothers and sisters. I know I'll be okay regardless if I have a child or not.
    I understand and sympathize with these women. We do have a time line as to when we can get pregnant, where as men, can still reproduce in their 70s. Not fair at all but that's the reality of life.
    As for the men that makes horrible comments about feminism, blah, blah, MGTOW, Blah, blah, yea..go ahead and do that. Go be by yourself and don't bother to have a relationship or children. It's a good thing because your genes will be eradicated. Lol
    I ignore men who have this type of mindset. Not worth my time. These type of men don't realize that men need women and women need men. Nothing is gain by pitting males and females against each other. We as humans (males and females), need each other. Point blank period.

      I only date men who are interested in marriage and kids. If not, that's okay too, that is their prerogative, just like it's my prerogative to only date men who are marriage minded.
      I have nothing against MGTOW. It's their life, their decision. Got nothing to do with me. Just as it's my right to ignore men who are mgtow.

    The problem nowadays is the reliance on two incomes to support one household. Women spend years trying to better their financial situation to prepare for children, only to realize that it's too late sometimes. I myself come from a high-fertility family with cousins and aunts having lots of kids (3, 4 +), yet they try to tell me to just "stay in school and get a good job to take care of yourself". It's so hypocritical. Yet they have multiple children with different fathers sometimes.... And I'm married, yet still on birth control due to the insane costs of renting. Double standards abound. Perhaps I'm just ranting now... It's not like we don't want children, we literally cannot afford to create a stable life for them without delaying childbearing.

      Problem started with feminism and women joining the work force, it was great for employers/corporations because they had more wage slaves and it was great for government as it nearly doubled the tax base, cost of living rose, a few years ago a man working on one wage could support a family, not the case anymore. The more I look at feminism, the more I believe women were sold a lie, even a quick glance at Tinder and its unbelievable the amount of 30 + single women on it, we're starting to see the negative impact of it.

    Freezing eggs, surrogacy or using a donor should be a choice that anyone should have the right to have.
    However, it's really sad that the options are either to have kids naturally and have no career, or to have a career and freeze your eggs. Society should get to a point where having children in your 20s or early 30s (which is the healthiest and less risky way of doing it) is in no way an obstacle to women nor to men. Also, it would be fantastic if we talked about ADOPTION a little more. There are still so many little ones in search of a family.

    • @David-ej1ps
      @David-ej1ps 6 років тому +1

      Cecilia Pvs seriously, where are you women getting your "education"... ?
      "It should be a choice everyone should have"... There is literally no choice or anything in the WHOLE universe that everyone can have.. your starting premise is flat out wrong.
      Having children in your 30s is certainly not the healthiest option if the woman never had a child before. The doctor in the video even says "I prefer women to come to around 25"...
      Then there is the problem of costs... IVF and freezing of eggs is extremely expensive and worst of all there aren't a lot of doctors who specialize in that field to begin with, so unless you find a way to increase the number of doctors in that field it will never be cheap and there is no way institutions are gonna cough up that kind of cash for something that has a 15% of materializing without a health risk to the mother or child (more costs after investment).
      Why women want to buy a cow when nature had given it to them for free is says a lot about female "logic", nothing comes without a cost, if you have children early then you impede your career prospects, if you have your career first then as the knowledgeable women said in the video your chances are slim even with IVF and egg freezing.
      Heck experts in this field don't even recommended it to healthy women, and that was said in the video 8:48. This is supposed to be more of a last resort option.
      "Choice for everyone" really?....

    • @ceciweci
      @ceciweci 6 років тому +6

      David, with my first sentence I simply meant that I believe that everyone should be free to decide for themselves and we should never be so arrogant to forbid or force anyone when it comes to their own body. I wouldn't pick IVF or surrogacy for myself, but I don't feel like I am in any position to tell anyone else what to do.
      If you continue reading my comment and manage to get over my flawed premise, you will see that not only I understood the content of the video (so no need to explain further, but thanks anyway for taking the time), but I actually pretty much agree with you. This is the reason why I was trying to open a conversation with regards to the issue of women not being able/prepared/ready to have kids when it's healthiest for them and the children. It is clear that this is something that is happening and the numbers are growing, so maybe we could think of alternatives or ways of tearing down barriers that sometimes prevent women from choosing to conceive in their 20s.
      Lastly, maybe you want to look into what makes you feel so angry at the category of "us women" when the opinion of one of us (not that I think I speak for all females, but I'll take it as a compliment) is not exactly the same as yours. I am certainly always happy to learn more from other people's point of view, but being this aggressive on your part is not only unnecessary, but also quite unpleasant.
      Have a great day!
