⚠️ "Is there a CURE for Bipolar Disorder?" What a valid and optimistic question! It's actually one of the most searched questions on Google / UA-cam related to the illness.
👋 I live with, research, and discuss Bipolar Disorder every day, and I assure you - if there WAS a cure for it, I'd be the first to sign up.
👉👉👉 Now that doesn't mean there aren't some amazing treatments and lifestyle approaches that can dramatically improve quality of life!! What are they? Find out in this video from Polar Warriors!
▶️ FROM THE VIDEO: "A HUGE misconception is that with proper treatment, we won't have episodes anymore. I hate to break it to ya, but even with everything I do to treat my illness, and everything I know from running this UA-cam channel, I still have episodes. Sometimes BAD ONES. They just happen WAY less often, and they don't last as long. I've also learned many coping strategies over the years that help me navigate through the hard times. I share lots of these on the channel."
👋 I personally live with TYPE 1 #bipolar disorder - with rapid cycling, and psychotic features. My videos aren't just for the millions of "Polar Warriors" out there who live with #bipolardisorder... They are also for the families, spouses, children, friends, and anyone else trying to understand more about the illness. Through the support, encouragement, education, and tools found in these videos, I hope you find yourself on a better path to mental wellness.

@@rebekkas.9421 Are you part of a Selbsthilfegruppe? I feel quite alone with it and can’t find a therapist, so I’d like to meet others with BP.
Bi-Polar is can be a very complexed condition, there are a lot of common denominators but as well it affects everyone differently, that’s my observations anyway. I find your channel interesting and educational as well, it’s been over 20th since I first discovered or got diagnosed that I had it, it the diagnosis answered a lot of questions but unfortunately it created a lot more, some that I will probably never get an answer to. Trying to educate myself about the subject is all I can really do.😊
I live in rural Pennsylvania, but I first discovered your channel when I lived out in Seattle. I was diagnosed Bipolar, (rapid cycling) in 1993. It has taken a while to get relatively stable. Your channel is a big help but right now I'm going through another dip and it's hard for me to go to work. I have a college degree but I work as a cashier.
As a Mom who's daughter also battle's this situation. Your All so very Brave. God bless you,
episodes on meds are inevitable but like you said they don't last as long or as intense.
I am 52. In South Africa. Which could be depressing enough on its own 😉. Diagnosed back in 1986. I have found with me that as I have aged that although I still have a episode now and again. My coping strategies developed over 30 odd years have kinda cured me. I no longer cease to function during them. I just wanted to say that bringing the awareness to this disorder is great and you must keep it up.
I just wish that I didn't have to have lived through a period where Mental health just wasn't a thing.
Now at least there is support and awareness out there ( even though there is still a stigma) that just was not there when I was suffering thru it as a young man. And even now after a stroke, two heart attacks and most recently a dropped disc in my back. I ain't dead yet, nor do I care to be. Still able to muster enough energy to have started my own youtube channel (which sucks by the way). The love, comfort and support of others has a lot to do with that thou. Anyway sorry to have rambled on. Love & peace to all of us.
on the shore of Lake Michigan in western Michigan,,,,,,,,,a walk on the beach can really calm me down
I’m from Missouri and love this channel. Finding it when I did around 2020 helped so much before I even found the meds that saved me. Thanks for all you do!

I’m from San Antonio, TX. I struggle with Bipolar 1, Autism, and OCD. It’s a struggle, but I continue to push through it all.
Bipolar disorder runs in our family and I had an autistic-like illness as a child. I wonder if there is a link between bipolar and autism. I got diagnosed with bipolar about 20 years ago.
My ex has a bipolair disorder. She decided to divorce last year December after being married to me for 16 years. We have two children 15yrs and 13 yrs. I still love her, though.
I appreciate you opening up about your journey. It takes a lot of strength to navigate these feelings, especially with kids involved.

Greetings from sunny South Africa. I lost a sibling due to untreated depression. I always say the day that I was diagnosed and started treatment was the day my life was saved. It is not easy living with this terrible desease especially with the general population frowning on any type of mental problem. I accepted the fact that it is my responsibility to manage this desease and your channel deffinitly is one avenue to learn coping skills. As you mentioned, the episodes do get more but with knowledge and treatment it has lost its cabability to destroy my life. Thanks for all your effort. See your experience as a blessing and helping hand reaching millions of people accross the world.
Your strength and resilience are truly inspiring. I appreciate your support and am grateful that my content has been helpful to you!

Oklahoma here. I started having issues at a very young age. Unfortunately, I wasn't diagnosed til I was 29. I lived in absolute misery for 26 years. In a different time, I would have been institutionalized, it was very severe and almost uncontrollable. I'm now very stable and have had no episodes for a long time. Take your meds and take any advice your therapists or counselor gives you. It's a very hard road, but so worth it.
Presently in Va. and I have bi polar symptoms. Sometimes it’s hard to describe or convince some of my family that I have this disorder. You have encouraged me to stay strong. So when I feel alone on this, I’ll still live a functional life. Thank you for this channel!

I just found your channel thur a bipolar Facebook group I’m in with parents that have children or adult children with Bipolar disorder, etc! So glad one of the parents uploaded one of your videos about anger and rage management! I have a son who’s 18 with autism and was just diagnosed with bipolar last summer ! It’s definitely been a tough long journey for my son these past 18 years! He is doing better! Just graduated from high school last year ,we are trying to figure out what he wants to do now ! He would like a job. He has high functioning autism too! So he’s extremely smart ! But those intense rages and anger get him in trouble! That’s my fear I have ! I just want my son to be a happy ,productive citizen.Trying to find his niche ,his passion on what he wants to do with his life ! He’s a mamas boy for sure! I love my son! Thank you again for making these videos ! I’ll have to send some to my son to watch so he can get a better understanding on what he’s dealing with and that he’s not alone ! ❤
I'm so grateful you found my channel through that group! Your support means a lot, and I'm happy to hear my videos might help your son. You've got an amazing bond with him, and I believe he will find his way! I'm very accessible and happy to answer any questions you have...

I live in San Diego CA. I take bipolar meds and supplements. I did a lot of research of which supplements were good for bipolar and which were bad. That took a long time to do. Also, I listen to my body and avoid any situations that trigger a bipolar episode. I am careful and sleep as much as I can. If I don't get enough sleep, between 7-8 hrs a night, man do I suffer the next day. Great channel! I learn so much from it.
Which supplements do you find the most helpful?
Sweden. Finished yesterday rTMS treatment 40 times in total and it helps, at least for me but it took 14-15 treatments before I noticed any difference.
rTMS really helped me as well (during 1 1/2 year) approx.100 sessions in total.
Thanks for sharing that!

I struggle with bipolar type 1 with psychosis and PTSD . . Before I was diagnosed I was on an absolute tear using drugs, took me overdosing 3 times for the lightswitch to finally click, been sober 6 years now. About 3 years ago I got back into running, as I used to be quite good at it in the military. Now I cant imagine life without it, if youre depressed you really need to move your body whether its going for a walk, a swim, anything at all, just do something. I know all too well how it feels to just lay in bed all day endlessly scrolling and going deeper and deeper into depression and wishing I wouldnt wake up tomorrow . . Fuck that!! I say fight back!!
Your story is powerful, and I'm glad you found a positive outlet in running. Keep fighting and inspiring others!

Coping strategies are so important. Had been a risk taker ever since I was young. Also had asthma, a lot of attacks. From getting excited. I become a teenage mum, my partner only 16. We had 3 children all c sections, last baby I was 36 had my cords tied. Affected my hormones made me manic depressive after many bad situations I became suicidal. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer estrogen dominant, also had polyps and endometriosis. I had surgery for both symptoms and radiation, followed by oral medications. Before this happened my adulthood I was a raving lunatic and drank to much. Thing that calmed me down smoking marijuana, listening to music, doing laundry, writing in a journal, being with people I love. Good to see you bipolar warriors ❤
I should of said medication helped, and when I was hospitalized I got counseling and they were great and I got to engage with my doctor and nurse forever grateful...their was a name for what I had.

I find lifestyle changes more helpful than my meds I think. The meds keep the worst swings at bay but the lifestyle piece makes a day to day difference for me. I follow strict dietary guidelines, exercise daily, and make sure I sleep well. If I don’t the effect is swift. Last night I ate some pasta at a friends house to be polite despite knowing refined carbs trigger me. We then stayed up way past my bedtime resulting in me feeling like I was spiraling. I think it was just a passing feeling because I feel ok today but it scared me.

Hello! I am from British Columbia, Canada
I'm from Florida, 41-year-old, mother of 4. Bipolar 1 disorder with acute mania, no psychosis and ADHD.
My mom was Dx manic depressive, but has gone untreated my whole life. I didn't understand as a child why she was in bed so much. I just thought she liked naps like me. She would have big cleaning and blasting music episodes and causing scenes at stores or lashing out at strangers. I had no idea what it was, just thought my mom was wild. Now I know, and I feel for her. I have been in ward once, and begged and begged to be let out, and I promised I would never return; and I have stayed true to that statement thus far. Side effects from multiple medication trial and errors really suck and can make the condition much worse if not on the correct combination. For me, we found taking antidepressants only increased my mania and made my depressive thoughts worse. So, removing that has helped a lot.
I started going roller skating again, like I did when I was a kid. Changed my diet, stopped drinking soda and alcohol and stopped smoking nicotine. Being active and eating and sleeping good can REALLY do a lot. Therapy I always advise no matter what. I was a nurse in both adult and pediatric care for 13 years and had to give that up due to my condition. Making friends is easy but keeping them is extremely hard even if they know you are bipolar and may have episodes and lash outs they can only deal with it so long before they leave. I fear I will die alone and have no friends or family around from my own behavior that I seem to not be able to control at times. Being impulsive and going from 0-100 in less than a second can really mess up any relationship I try to keep. I hate that there isn't more help out there for people struggling with mental illness in any form. Especially nowadays, with the world being as crazy and messed up as it is. The daily rollercoaster ride isn't a fun ride, but I try to remind myself it could be worse. Others have it worse than me. Thankful for what I do have and my children that I unconditionally love.

I have a different type of bipolar disorder, my mantic episodes can last from 5-7 years, even longer when I was younger. I didn’t realize I had bipolar disorder until I was 49ish, I just thought I was smarter and worked harder and longer than the average person.
I honestly thought my depression was from unfortunate circumstances and stress because of the high highs, and the low lows.
I was coming off a 7 year mania, I wore out my mind and body working 18hr days, ended up hospitalized.
It was close to when you first started your channel, there was very little out about bipolar disorder on social media back then, you were one of the first. You really helped in my recovery from severe depression back then.
I appreciate you and thank you for your work and dedication, I’m going to join your Patreon channel.
Sending love and healing vibes, Robb ❤️🙏

Greetings from Finland
Bipolar brain from Colorado here!
Something I have struggled with (and would love to know if you have talked about) is thinking “okay, I’m bipolar but I’m not THAT bipolar.” With thoughts like “I was technically in control during mania. If I was truly manic I would have been completely out of control and ruined my life.”
Despite my care team insisting I have a severe case of it, it is easy to convince myself that I am just saying all of the right things and making things sound worse to get attention.
Are either of these things common with bipolar? Not necessarily a denial that I have it, but a fear that I don’t have it badly enough to be taken seriously because my bipolar doesn’t look the same as someone else’s? (E.G. ive been psychotic enough to be convinced my house was going to collapse and my meds were going to poison me, but I’ve never ran through the streets thinking I am Jesus)
Does that make sense?
Thanks for all of the great content! Hope you reply if you get a moment :)
I struggle from day to day.thanks.❇️✍️
