Legendary blind hymn-writer Fanny Crosby wrote over 8,000 songs that we still sing today. This last song that she wrote was inspired by her encounter with a travelling preacher. When asked whether she was upset about never being able to see, she replied "No, because when I get to heaven the first face that shall ever gladden my sight will be that of my Saviour"
Fanny Crosby was blind, but she knew when she got to heaven, she wouldn't be blind anymore, and would know Jesus "by the print of the nails in His hands."

I just watched the Nancy Reagan funeral. I saw no valid hope. Things were kind, and the stories of her valor great, but no message of eternal security. I just had to find this song, so thank you for being here. . .I know Him, I shall see Him. I want my family and friends to proclaim that truth at my funeral. It will never be televised, few people will attend, but what is most important is that I will see Jesus, First of All.

There have been some folks who have crossed the swelling tide these past few weeks...I pray they all knew Him as Savior and Lord! He said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father but through me! People get ready!

We sang this in church Sunday. My dear friends favorite also with her precious Savior along with your dear father Praise God for His loving kindness towards us! ☺️
When this song was not very old, a strutting fellow came to London, claiming to be the Christ. A huge crowd surrounded him in Trafalgar Square to hear him speak. In the middle of his talk a rag tag Salvation Army band began to march around the perimeter of the crowd, singing this very song. Hearing the words, " I shall know Him by the print of the nails in His hand." a man cried out loudly, Yes, His hands, let's see his hands! Show us your hands! And the man slunk off in shame and defeat. They were not the nail pierced hands of the risen Lord Jesus Christ.
This number is one which I find myself coming back to, time and time again. What a beautiful number.
