So a common strategy for Soldier is to use a rocket to pop them up in the air and then finish them off with the shotgun. One of the reasons is because the time to kill is effectively equivalent but conserving a rocket in the “clip” is a massive deal. Rockets can be overkill with how much damage they deal, so a shotgun blast can finish others off without needing immediate reload to keep the streak going.
Yeah, I found that funny as well. How they assumed that the Backscatter is good and that the shortstop is bad. While in reality, the backscatter is just terrible and the Shortstop is somewhat decent.
@@evangelos4346 Nah, because there are some strategies you can use that makes Baby's face blaster useful and fun. As for the Backscatter, nothing really fixes that weapon. About the Demoman's reload animation, the game had a way for the default grenade launcher which rotates and after every nađe that is inserted, it would rotate to put another one (you would also be a able to see the grenades in the case), however they removed that and made an universal reload animation for all grenade launchers, even though it doesn't look realistic, The Iron Bomber has smaller barrels and in the animation it looks like he is dropping them on the floor
8:28 That's the understatement of the century. This is a game where shooting a rocket at your feet to jump higher is actively encouraged, and where many players see replacing their shotgun with a pair of steel-toed boots as a fair trade because the boots let you rocket jump more frequently.

This video is proof that tf2 will never die and valve wants to kill it, also back scatter is just very dumb weapon from design you deal more damage from behind so its often called ass scatter for it being just terrible and bascially demanding user to attack from behind
i dont under stand why people think valve wants to kill their game do they even think for a second how bad of a PR nightmare it would be if valve was doing this?
This video was great, i was pleasantly surprised with the quality of both the commentary and the background footage, the person playing us clearly really good, im guessing at least a a thousand hours. Interesting thing to know about tf2, the sniper is only long range class in the game. There are some ways for other classes to deal decent damage at long range, but its usually situational or difficult to do, while sniper deals incredible damage at long range always and simply by shooting them with a hitscan weapon. This is why most maps arent extremely open, to stop the snipers from having sight of the entire map and sniping everyone without having any contest, of course there are some open areas, but the good maps also make sure to have flank routes that lets someone take out an oppressive sniper.
Thought I'd clarify a bunch of things about the game for ya guys. 1:12 The Backscatter is designed to shoot at your enemies right behind them. It mini - crits if you hit an enemies back, but it has a greater bullet spread. 5:18 The Beggar's Bazooka is canonically garbage, which is why it looks so messed up. 7:31 Shotguns aren't real good compared to most other weapons. In terms of the panic attack, you use it when you run out of ammo for your primary, or to finish it off(Hence why the soldier pulls it out after hitting enemies with his rockets.) 9:28 The Spy is doing what is referred to as the 'Spy-Crab' which is a bug with how spy looks when holding up his disguise cloak and crouching in a specific way. 10:42 The Tomislav is classified as a minigun in-game, and is weld by the big Russian tank Heavy. 12:10 The Widowmaker uses Engineers metal as ammo(Metal being used to build support buildings, only having a limited supply) but you regain some metal if you successfully hit a target. This makes it better if you have good aim. 17:24 The Ambassador crits if you hit an enemies' head. This also is good on Spy because he can disguise as an enemy to get closer to them, making hitting the head-shots easier. Thanks for reading this. I'll update this comment if there is anything anyone points out that is important.
Details about the guns if needed: The backscatter was intended as a flanking weapon, deals way more damage from behind The shortstop used to be better now it’s a piece of garbage and I don’t know what it’s gimmick is The beggar‘s bazooka gimmick is that it doesn’t take rockets from my magazine it takes it directly from your reserve as such you don’t really have a magazine you can just load three rockets and then you shoot all three and yes it is made out of pieces of trash The panic attack is also a piece of work It’s one of the fastest firing shotguns in the game and it’s also really quick and switching only downside is that it’s week as hell and it’s not really that useful on the soldier I use it on Pyro more The walking load is not my favorite weapon for a demo but I will use it it’s a gimmit is that it has a faster more accurate grenade compared to other launchers but it does little bit less damage (The thing the spy was doing is called spy crabbing which is when a spy messes with the game model) The Kalashnikov Main thing make is that it has a faster speed up time and it’s been up time is silent so it’s more ideal for flanking and sneaking around and sustain fire but seeing that it’s a mini gun it can still do that The window makers are the other fully auto shotguns in this game it’s gimmick is that it doesn’t use bullets it uses your metal reserve (engineer has a metal supply which he uses to build things) you are right that is not very good but I have seen people make it work so I’m not one to talk hitmans heat maker is a pretty simple sniper rifle massively rewards you for hitting head shots but it punishes you for not

Yeah about brutality I think this community forgot about it's violence. Lazypurple is just a loud and funny youtuber he makes good animation but when it comes to humor it's not good.
You’re right on the money when you comment that the game is designed around CQB. Sniper is an outlier in this game, and it’s actually started to become a point of contention for a lot of players because of how difficult it can be to deal with a really good one.
Fun fact, it's called the ambassador because it's the representative of regular FPS games, since it can't do random crits and only does headshots crits
YES!!! This is what I have been waiting for!!! Also Israel and Paul should react some custom weapons by the TF2 community on the steam workshop, there are so many cool weapons with cool, funny or realistic looks or the crazy, cool or creative stats for the custom weapons! Would love to see a 2nd video of it!!!
4:13 volley fire is probably the best explanation for short stop. As it shoots 4 pellets/shots per shot. But to make it work, you'd have to bring some of that soldier rocket launcher magic. But if you want to go even more technical, scout shoots snake shot from shot stop. Snake shot being a shotgun shell for pistols to shoot at snakes. But scout having only 4 pellets in one shot. The morale of the story. Why do you care this much about a cartoon gun?
About the panic attack. It used to work like beggar's bazooka. You load it, then everything gets fired. In that concept, the front magazine extension made somewhat sense.
Three things about demoman, he makes his own explosives. He's so drunk, that he can use his organs to distill alcohol (seriously, giving him normal food and water destroys him). Due to balance chances, the stock weapon holds 4 shots and 3 in loch and load.
Fun fact about the Beggars Bazooka, it's called that because the character Soldier ended up making it out of literal trash. So essentially it's a hobo's rocket launcher. You can overload the thing and it will explode the rockets in the chamber.
The Loch-N-Load makes sense cause you load 1 pellet in which goes to the top barrel and the other two stay below and then when one is fire the other ones go up. BOOM MADE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!!!
5:54 Thia design was already made in ww2 and was called the fliegerfaust meaning plane fist in German. However they quickly abandoned the design because of how hard it was to hit the aircraft in the first place.
love seeing these guys trying to rationalize these weapons when we have things like the scatter gun that reloads via shell ejection and divine intervention.
The Beggar's Bazooka was _literally_ built from scrap, lol. | The Tomislav is a Slavic Tommy. Tommy-Slav. | The Widowmaker was originally made as part of a cross-promotion with a futuristic cyberpunk style game (Deus Ex: Human Revolution), so it's not completely in-line with the original aesthetic.
When he said that Taurus has questionable quality i just remembered that time they had to recall a bunch of guns because they would fire if you shook them hard enough
Getting to the Widowmaker shotgun reminds me: It was styled after the Widowmaker TX shotgun from Deus Ex: Human Revolution and I think you guys should definitely cover the weapons from Human Rev and Mankind Divided!
some of the missing animations for some guns like the ambassador or the nades on a grenade launcher were scrapped on updates of the game, they made the game had less of that stuff to "run smoother" they failed to do that and removed cool animations
The China Lake repeating launcher is also called "EX-41" and "Natic." Not entirely sure about this, but its full name might be "China Lake EX-41 Natic." As for the Backscatter, it's double drum is probably based on the MG-42 or (except those use belt canisters rather than drums, but we're going by aesthetics). Or was it the MG-34 that used those double belt canisters? [[researches]] It's both. 0:17 / 9:02 It's based on the Sage Deuce but with retro aesthetics. 1:37 Here's how to make that legit. Make it work like a real lever-action. Ditch the tube. Have it feed from box mags or drums (no double-drums) on the left side w/right-side ejection. And give it some kind of stock. Maybe a skeleton stock just to be different. Btw, the name "Backscatter" MIGHT be a reference to 'The Thing' (1982). 2:14 In the commentary to T2: Special Edition, James Cameron mentions that it's a 10-gauge, so it might have been a Winchester 1901. Or did they make the 1887 in 10-gauge? 2:19 Large-loop levers aren't really made to be spin-cocked. They're intended to be more comfortable to use with gloves (like the kind ranchers wear) than standard levers. The guns used by Arnie (there were several) had the lever modified and the trigger guard removed. Not all of them, though. At one point, he grabbed the wrong gun and almost broke his finger, so he must have grabbed one that still had a trigger guard. 3:42 It's based on the COP-357 quad-barrel pepperbox Derringer. Wait, does that count as a pepperbox? It has a stationary barrel cluster and a rotating firing pin. 3:47 Also in The Matrix: Reloaded. 7:51 It's dumb. Completely wasted potential. Doesn't affect capacity or reload method. 8:12 Classic reference! XD Looks like its aesthetics are based on the Winchester 1897 Trench Gun. 9:18 Why didn't they make it triple-barrel since it holds three? 10:03 EX-41 11:08 But can you differentiate by sight, even if only given a split-second, the difference between an AKMS and a Zastava M70? 12:31 There are no shotguns that use helical-feed drums like that, but they've hybridized some design concepts into what some might call an "Amalgamate." Basically, they took one of those fancy newfangled rotary multi-tube autoloaders and spliced it together with something like a PP-19 Bizon. 15:38 Of course, they'd have to leave the stock perma-folded. Unfold that stock, greenhorn! 17:39 Why's the bore so huge compared to the rounds? 17:40 The mass under the barrel is called an underlug. But here's a question to bake yer noodle. If it's one of those inverted revolvers with a low-axis barrel, and if it that type of weighted mass, would it be called an "overlug?" Like Vash the Stampede's revolver. 17:57 Taurus makes several "Raging" revolvers, including one in .30 Carbine called the "Raging Thirty." It's an 8-shooter. 20:07 Part of what makes the 1887 unique, even compared to other lever-action shotguns (like the Adler A110), is that it's not a standard lever-action. It's a lever-action rolling block. That's why the receiver is so short.
I would love to see them reacting to Planetside 2 weapons. Expecially New Conglomerate and Terran Republic weapons as they are the one more grounded in reality.
this is really cool! i hope you guys make a part 2 where you react to some of the pyro class's weapons as most of their weapons are homemade (even the melee!)
I love how those guys thought the Back Scatter is a good gun compared to the Shortstop since, in reality, Back Scatter is easily THE worse Scout's primary weapon while Shortstop is somewhat decent.
@@markmathis9616 Well here is the thing, buddy. Do you even know how the backscatter works? The idea for this weapon is for you to flank with it, this weapon does mini crits when you shot the enemy from the back to deal the most among the damage possible, and...that's it. You do very low damage when shooting anyone in any direction but in their backs...while the Baby blaster or the scattergun allows you to do high damage no matter where you shot as long as you're close enough. Plus, on UA-cam, there is a lot of videos showing how Baby's face blaster can be used effectively, sure you lose most of your boost if you DOUBLE jump or take 25 of damage but with the right weapons you can get that boost back. In my opinion. The ranking for all of Scout's primaries would be like. Top 1-Scattergun and Soda popper. Top 2-Force of Nature and Baby's face Blaster and Shortstop. Top 3-Backscatter. Because honestly, there is just no reason for you to use the backscatter, not even for a meme weapon, it's just so useless and bad.

In 9:29, the spy was doing something the community calls the spy crab, a friendly being and is a bug when holding a disguise kit, looking up and crouching.
I find it really funny how they react to the taunts and other jokes such as the spy-crab seen during lock’n’load. Always nice to hear from a fresh perspective how things extremely normal to me are seen from new players/viewers.
The guns in this game would make a gun-nut have a stroke, a heart attack, violently vomit, die, come back to life to cry, and have another stroke.
Imagine dying, only to come back to cry some more and have a second stroke

Scattergun - double barrel lever action shotgun that shoots 1 shell at a time, has 6 shots, and reloads by pulling the lever.
Its funny how much he loves the Back Scatter. If only he knew it was Scout's worst primary
Yeah, I found that funny as well.
How they assumed that the Backscatter is good and that the shortstop is bad.
While in reality, the backscatter is just terrible and the Shortstop is somewhat decent.
Pretty sure the worst primary for Scout is the Baby Face's Blaster
@@evangelos4346 Nah, because there are some strategies you can use that makes Baby's face blaster useful and fun.
As for the Backscatter, nothing really fixes that weapon.
The Backscatter was added in TF2 and it was already Scout's worst primary, Valve never reworks it, and even nowadays in 2022, it still is Scout's worst primary, with no buts or ifs.
@@evangelos4346 A good scout can take advantage of the insane speed boost, even if for only a few seconds.
The Back Scatter's design is completely pointless in actual play, since you kill important targets in two well-placed shots regardless of minicrits
@@evangelos4346 uts not that bad there both good weapons and im good with them
Totally love how they broke this one down! It wasn't just "OH it's unrealistic", they really broke down each piece of the gun and had some interesting facts about function. They do this series great!
Fun fact: "The old painless" was actualy the main insparasion for the Heavy class for Quake team fortress witch later team fortress classic was made and then Tf2
I love watching firearms experts scratch their heads over games like TF2.
8:28 That's the understatement of the century. This is a game where shooting a rocket at your feet to jump higher is actively encouraged, and where many players see replacing their shotgun with a pair of steel-toed boots as a fair trade because the boots let you rocket jump more frequently.
My favorite goofy weapon is the Scout's default scattergun, because it's a double barrel shotgun, but it's also lever action, but it also has a drum barrel, but also he never actually reloads new shots into it, he just ejects the used shells. It's a mess and I love it for that.
I have terrible experience with the back scatter in tf2 because of it's 20%more bullet spread and tf2's unholy back hitbox
That's because the Backscatter sucks ass and it's Scout's worst primary, there is just no point in using it over any other Scout primary.
I completely agree with your statement
more like the non-backstab back hitboxes are just less forgiving in genreal
Basic ups and downs of each weapons:
upside: +
downside: -
Featured in video:
backscatter: +minicrits when the target is shot from the back, -less ammo | -wider spread
shortstop: +longer range | -less ammo | +shove
begger's bazooka: +high fire rate | -deviation of rocket | - self damage via overloading | -all shooting requires reloading beforehand
panic attack: +more bullets| +faster pulling out| -less accuracy
loch n load: +faster | -but disappears when it doesn't hit the target
tomislav: -slower | +more accurate
widowmaker: +regenerating ammo, -if shots connect | -uses metal instead of ammo
hitman's heatmaker: +dish out headshots faster by dealing enough damage | -reduced body damage
cleaner's carbine: -less damage | +minicrits when enough damage done
ambassador: +headshots | -slower fire rate | -less damage
ambassador also deals less damage
Shortstop has the Gimicy "Shove"
i'm going to add more stuff
Panic attack doesn't have a higher fire rate, it has a faster draw speed and higher close-range damage due to extra bullets

Thanks, we appreciate your feedback and input, cheers!

Team Fortress 2 players always seem to have either the best or the worst gamer tags.
was looking if somebody else noticed
Thought I'd clarify a bunch of things about the game for ya guys.
1:12 The Backscatter is designed to shoot at your enemies right behind them. It mini - crits if you hit an enemies back, but it has a greater bullet spread.
5:18 The Beggar's Bazooka is canonically garbage, which is why it looks so messed up.
7:31 Shotguns aren't real good compared to most other weapons. In terms of the panic attack, you use it when you run out of ammo for your primary, or to finish it off(Hence why the soldier pulls it out after hitting enemies with his rockets.)
9:28 The Spy is doing what is referred to as the 'Spy-Crab' which is a bug with how spy looks when holding up his disguise cloak and crouching in a specific way.
8:13 I always find hilarious when he makes that reference
Details about the guns if needed:
The backscatter was intended as a flanking weapon, deals way more damage from behind
The shortstop used to be better now it’s a piece of garbage and I don’t know what it’s gimmick is
The beggar‘s bazooka gimmick is that it doesn’t take rockets from my magazine it takes it directly from your reserve as such you don’t really have a magazine you can just load three rockets and then you shoot all three and yes it is made out of pieces of trash
The panic attack is also a piece of work It’s one of the fastest firing shotguns in the game and it’s also really quick and switching only downside is that it’s week as hell and it’s not really that useful on the soldier I use it on Pyro more
The walking load is not my favorite weapon for a demo but I will use it it’s a gimmit is that it has a faster more accurate grenade compared to other launchers but it does little bit less damage (The thing the spy was doing is called spy crabbing which is when a spy messes with the game model)
The Kalashnikov Main thing make is that it has a faster speed up time and it’s been up time is silent so it’s more ideal for flanking and sneaking around and sustain fire but seeing that it’s a mini gun it can still do that
The window makers are the other fully auto shotguns in this game it’s gimmick is that it doesn’t use bullets it uses your metal reserve (engineer has a metal supply which he uses to build things) you are right that is not very good but I have seen people make it work so I’m not one to talk
hitmans heat maker is a pretty simple sniper rifle massively rewards you for hitting head shots but it punishes you for not
"They're loading 3 rounds in the bottom barrel"

I'm telling you right now-- you're gonna need more than one episode to cover all the illogical weapons lol

This game is equal parts insanity, comedy, cartoon, and brutality lol. Giving me flashbacks to LazyPurple and SoundSmith’s comedic videos lol. Also shout outs to both of them for being an absolute amazing funny people with their TF2 vids.
Yeah about brutality I think this community forgot about it's violence. Lazypurple is just a loud and funny youtuber he makes good animation but when it comes to humor it's not good.
5:55 fliegerfaust, hand held AA weapon, and the one before was a panzerfaust, a hand help disposable AT weapon
Wright has to have the smoothest transition from military to youtuber
You’re right on the money when you comment that the game is designed around CQB. Sniper is an outlier in this game, and it’s actually started to become a point of contention for a lot of players because of how difficult it can be to deal with a really good one.
Fun fact, it's called the ambassador because it's the representative of regular FPS games, since it can't do random crits and only does headshots crits
Can confirm, ages 4-5 can start *whistles whilst walking away*
I swear I’ve seen a recreation china lake
The backscatter does double damage from behind which is why it’s called the backscatter.
Awesome, thanks for the info!
You guys need to do a reaction to the TF2 Meet the Team videos. That would be GREAT!
The Loch-N-Load makes sense cause you load 1 pellet in which goes to the top barrel and the other two stay below and then when one is fire the other ones go up. BOOM MADE IT MAKE SENSE!!!!!!
17:29
That woman on the Ambassador is actually Scouts mother
being caught in your explosion in TF2 is a staple gameplay mechanic every Soldier main must know how to use.
5:54
Thia design was already made in ww2 and was called the fliegerfaust meaning plane fist in German. However they quickly abandoned the design because of how hard it was to hit the aircraft in the first place.
love seeing these guys trying to rationalize these weapons when we have things like the scatter gun that reloads via shell ejection and divine intervention.
Their reaction to that spy crab is funny.
that multibarrel rocket launcher is called a fliegerfaust, it was a German antiair unguided rocket launcher, with the caliber being 20mm
Never expected The Living Daylights to get a reference in a video about TF2
Two of my favorite things!

Getting to the Widowmaker shotgun reminds me: It was styled after the Widowmaker TX shotgun from Deus Ex: Human Revolution and I think you guys should definitely cover the weapons from Human Rev and Mankind Divided!
8:11 "shoulder thing that goes up". XD Ah, gun control referential humor. Love it.
Gun control in theory is excellent. In practice they tend to ban safety features that look scary rather than actually…you know, Control who has guns.
Tf2 is not a shooter. Its a hat simulator
It’s and outfit trading simulator
The beggars lore is legit that Soldier made it himself out of trash
1:01 "Multiplayer competition game"
Competition
Competition
Competition...
* Flasbacks of the competitive mode update*
The Loch-N-Load. 2 barrels, 3 pills in the clip. Loads all 3 in the bottom barrel, shoots from the top.
some of the missing animations for some guns like the ambassador or the nades on a grenade launcher were scrapped on updates of the game, they made the game had less of that stuff to "run smoother" they failed to do that and removed cool animations
10:03 EX-41
11:08 But can you differentiate by sight, even if only given a split-second, the difference between an AKMS and a Zastava M70?
That would be fun
"Is there any long range?"
No, unless you're playing sniper then it's all long range until a spy or scout show up.
Demoman kinda is a long/mid-range class because of his projectiles.
“it seems like all the action in this game is up close and personal”
CLEARLY
you’ve never played tf2
Seeing them have so much fun from Rick May's Screaming soldier performance is just heartwarming
i would love for more TF2 firearm reactions, the game has a lot of really fun weapons to look at, even the default weapons are pretty cool

I love how those guys thought the Back Scatter is a good gun compared to the Shortstop since, in reality, Back Scatter is easily THE worse Scout's primary weapon while Shortstop is somewhat decent.
I still miss the old shortstop
Its good for flanking, and that's about it...
@@hahrf_0149 Nah, if you wanna flank, use Stock or Soda popper.
The Shortstop is good if you wanna mid-range Scout.
I don't know if it deserves "worst" when baby face exists, where you can't even jump without handicapping your speed.
What's extra funny about the loch and load is that you load the grenades into the bottom barrel, but the launcher shoots them out of the top barrel.
I wanna see them react to the 'Meet The' series
Paul knows his stuff. Metal Storm was exactly that, stacked electrically fired projectiles. You could fire single projectiles through to entire panels worth of projectiles.

tf2 is amazing but the bots and stuff make it less fun, most the guns in this game are a lot of fun but tbh most are pretty useless. In terms of close range action the back scatter is for the scout class which is a close to medium range only class he is very effective at these ranges and his weapons, the same. Sniper is one of the most powerful classes too long range takes out almost half the classes with a quickscope headshot and every single class with a full 4second charged headshot :D
my favorite backscatter story is that one time i sat down on the toilet-
4:55 I think this is actually supposed to be shotgun shot, as for some bizarre reason the short stop is a shotgun.
The way he described the Back Scatter is... frighteningly accurate to how to weapon works
As a tf2 player, seeing more and more tf2 content brings me a smile everytime
It breaks My heart that even if they didnt saw the true ambasador and the homie at the gameplay try it's best, they came to the logical conclusión it must be a high Caliber revolver

Great video
I want another video, but they have to guess the weapons stats just by observing the weapon. I'd love to see how close they'd get.
This is way better than the Gamespot imo. The guys understood the game is its own thing and the guns shouldn't be taken too seriously. I love the input of where the guns could inspired and how it can possibly function. The banter is especially great.
Edit: Btw yeah, the revolvers used to have animations for reloading, but you're right, eventually game optimization removed those animations.
Thanks, really appreciate your feedback!
