I never hated the accord i still plan on owning one and tuning like point 2 point turbo's accord i went to prison behind these cars but it was a really reliable vehicle...i especially like the wagon 😎
The 5th gens are without a doubt, a badass looking car. Great to customize and simple to work on...no need for expensive scopes or computers, just 10 and 12 mm wrenches.
Anyone else kind of trip out that car's we used to see all over when we were younger are now becoming coveted and prized? Like legit a honda accord from the 90's, a car many of my family members owned which i never batted an eye at, is special now?! Crazy man.
I daily a 97 EX sedan with 322k on it. Amazingly well put together car. My sweetheart car is a 1990 Accord EX that I manual swapped then rebuilt the engine in. The general consensus is that the 4th gen was the most favorite Accord followed by 3rd then 5th. 5th gen is nice, but the interior quality materials and design started cheapening a little bit more compared to 3rd and 4th due to the economy at the time so cost cutting was evident, though it did become more modern in design that previous gens. I also think 90-93 had a more aggressive design. I had a 91 wagon before that that had a Accord type R h22 red top with a t2w4 lsd manual in it.. that thing was spectacular, and I kept the AC and PS. Sounds like the 4th gen Si lude transmission isn't the best match for vtec in this car.. gears are way too long. The best combination is to get a h22 trans and use the Accord 5th gear so it's not revving 4k @ 80mph.
I've been saying this since I got in the car scene. My first car was a cb7 1990 accord. I boosted the f22a6 in it.i gapped civics and mustangs all day. So when I got deeper people told me civics are better than accords. I was like what? Since then I have owned nothing but accords. I own a 1994 and a 1998 right now but people sleep on out chassis. Those j accords are nice too. People always jump to every other honda and I hate that. Thanks for this episode dude.
I have a 1996 accord ex sedan I plan on putting a twin turbo charge in it and a computer system with a added on straight pipe once i take the muffler off😭❤️
This was my first car, 95 accord f22 VTEC, I jumped the car, reverse donuts in it, e brake slides, burnouts, raced everything I came up next to, etc. I beat the car everyday as hard as I could for about a year before someone rear ended me and totaled it. The car WOULD NOT die. It will forever hold a place in my heart, definitely an unappreciated platform. Thanks for the video!
Same as most cars are hated - the people who drive them lol. 6MT accord drivers are the try-hardiest pick-me types on the road lmao. Right down there with Infiniti G-series, GTi and Audi guys.
I had a 1994 with the base VTEC motor and had dreams to H22 swap it but sold it before I had a chance. It is by far my favorite generation of accord and one day I hope to get another to replace it! Glad to see such a clean build getting love and attention!
love my 8th gen exl v6 coupe. the 6spd really brings it alive and the j series engine makes smooth fun and reliable power. not to mention the styling is great. more people should definitely get into accords.
Ieope wanna D... ride one if the reasons I steered away from the tuner scene everyone wants you to nave a sporty car or a car bu their standard which is bogus I'm my opinion
I've always been an Accord fanboy. Some of the sickest rides back in the day were those Accord coupes. In fact, the most affordable "tuner" cars were Accords because kids would get them from their mom or dad. I remember falling in love with the 6th Gen Coupe in 1997 when it first hit the market. I walked past one everyday at University. One of the profs drove it. Thought it was so sick. Even today, I'd drive an older Accord no problem. I also liked the Acura Vigors. Thinking about buying a JDM version as I live in Japan. They are called "Inspire" here. Not many people know that, but I do.
Not sure who hates the Accord, but they're wild. The Accord, even if you're a Nissan or Toyota fan, is a very respectable car. It's always been the more fun and "sportier" inspired car compared to the Camry or Altima. Heck, hasn't Car and Driver put the Accord on the best driving car for like 20+ years?
As a Honda fan and 5th time Civic owner i would say the Accords are under appreciated. Before my current FG4 i was looking at V6 Accords with the J series motor. I recently heard a modified one and it sounded amazing yet unique.
Very awesome! I had a 94 Prelude 4ws with a H22a swap out of Japan. That car cornered like it was on rails and was fast!! I should have never sold it! Nice video and thanks for this trip down memory lane.
Finally my car is featured! Love the clickbait title as always 😂 To sum up why these aren't seen as often: parts are rare. Like really rare. To the point where it has taken me over 5 years to collect specific parts for what I need for my H22A1 swap and exterior making it a JTCC touring car replica. In the span I found my car in 2017, an enthusiast in Thailand hand made replica parts for the car! I finally received them this year in 2023 and prior to 2020, literally it didn't exist. It's all lost in the times with many sought after parts being held by owners to this day or hidden away. Glad you got to experience a nice example of one!
Accords can be anything. You can have a great daily, a crazy fast Euro-R, or bagged and classy. 2-doors are nice when modified. And they are big bodied. They are definitely a treat
The CB7 will always have a special place in my heart. I had a minty fresh 91 DX as a 1st car from my grandma with no airbags and crank windows. Sold it to some kid who of course totaled it immediately. Still miss that car, body lines on the 4th gen were perfect 😢
My first car was a 94 accord 2door with an H22. It’s the car that introduced me to car culture, an affordable way for a kid to get involved. I honestly miss that car sometimes.
I used to have cd5 accord. With a lot of Jdm parts with a h22A swap. I didn’t get a lot of love back then. But now, I do see more people appreciate this gen accord.
I have a 06 4cyl accord back home and miss it a lot, it was my first car so i’ve made a lot of car memories with it. Stock k24 with wheel and suspension mods cleaned up really nice.
I have owned multiple accords over the years, adored them all. I presently drive a 2008 accord and still enjoy its simplicity and reliability despite its flaws starting to show due to its age and how much it has been passed along in my family. If possible, I would love to have an engine and transmission rebuild done with full electrical work done so it can last another 20 years easily. Oh, also replacing the seat bolstering would be nice too. I have owned a 1984, 1986, 1989, 1994, the 2008 I now drive, 1987 accord and have driven the living snot out of all of them. Great cars.
Just Titled my 1994 Accord with 25k original miles. Was my Fathers car , when he passed in 2012 i changed the oil and put it away in the garage as i already had 3 cars. After 8 years i was in an accident with my truck. I went to tile honda but misplace title, that was 2020. Found it and just recently titled it. Brought to Mobil one oil change place and the owner wanted to buy it. 12 years in the garage new battery starts right up (no check engine light)it had 4 brand new Michelins on it that dry rotted and had to be changed as well. Running a little rough till the computer rel earns. so i took it out for an Italian tune up yesterday and it like it alot!
I do have a 1995 cd5 accord with a Jdm H22a 5 speed manual swapped. I purchased it back in 1996 with 15k miles. Did the swap back in 2002. Chassis now has 492k miles and the h22a engine at 300k miles. I still love the car to this day.
I love my Honda Accords, I have three, one is a 2002 coupe 4 cyl. 5speed man. And I have two 2004 sedans with the k24A 5 speed man. transmissions. They're practically indestructible! The sedans have almost 270k miles on them and the coupe with only 160k miles and they are all going strong to this day and for many more in the future. You're friends Accord is really nice, he did some tasteful mods on it that's not too subtle but not outrageous either.
watching this brings back memories of my 97 accord with the f20b2. was a beast of a first car for a 97 baby like myself, car was made same year i was born.
Ive got a 95 LX that i lifted a couple years ago. Snapped a piston rod on a road trip and recently got another f22b2 put in it while i rebuild and upgrade the original engine.

FINALLY!! I own a 95 accord four door myself and absolutely love it even though mine is rusted with a f22b2 but factory five speed with a sunroof but its my baby and yeah the interior is absolutely amazing for comfort
My first car I modified was a 96 SiR that I got imported from Canada. Had the actual CD6 chassis code with the H22a and 5mt. Fantastic cars and I miss mine regularly.
These old Accords are CRIMINALLY Underrated in the car community. I drive a Gen.4 accord myself (Sadly one generation before Vtec was introduced) and I absolutely would recommend to anyone who likes how the EG Civic drives for example. The engine isn't the Best, as the piston rods might go through the block if you throw some boost on there, but it's a Honda, so you can swap a Much better motor in there with little issue (Would recommend an H22 for the Cb7)
I have a 92 CB7 I recently F20B swapped & a 94 CE1 manual swapped wagon. I love them! I drive the wagon more than I do my EG hatch at this point lol. Only bad would be the automatics in the 98-02 & maintenance on the early V6s
There's such a big Accord community, these are super common to see modded like the civics of their time (ie lowering springs and a sad excuse for a muffler that sounds like an army of bees in a tin can) That said, I love my Accord. I've had people tell me it looks like a mom car but it was my mom's car before it became mine so I guess it makes sense. When I was really young mom had a 5th gen like this one but then she got a 7th gen that became mine (and she's driving a 9th gen now)
As a proud owner of every usdm flavor of 3rd gen accord, 87,88,89, i can tell you they are the *most* slept on old school platform honda made , also -[pop]- up headlights
You've officially reviewed all of the cars i've had- 94 Accord (CD5), 2003 Maxima and a 2016 Q50 3.0t. I miss my 94 Accord. Definitely wanted to H22 swap it...but broke college kid in 2009 😅
I live for 90’s Hondas! I have the next gen Honda accord coupe “fancy version” AKA the Acura CL 3.0 coupe and loved every minute of owning it. Will miss it for sure.
As someone that grew up in a country that Accords are not really a thing but Civics are, they aways catch my eye with that feeling of "the neighbours grass is aways greener" and I wonder why they didnt catch on as a tuner car as the Civic did, specially this gen, they can look amazing with certain mods
My auntie use to have one back then and I actually love the car even if I didn’t know much about cars when I was little. It was just a base model accord with a 5 speed automatic.
I used to want this chassis as my first car back in high school (early-mid 00s). You can swap in a F20B or H22A easily. A spirited reliable daily driver
I'm currently driving a 94' Accord LX trim with 148,000KM on it. Sadly it's autotragic, but with the traffic now adays, that's not the worst thing ever for me. It's nearly 30 years old at this point so I've found some problems, leaking power steering, a bit of rust here and there. But other than that and regular maintenance items, it's been a great car. Everyone is shocked by the interior. Expecting it to just be a shitbox, when it's really more like a couch. Comphy, wide, and low. What a fun vibe. Honestly, love the thing.
the only one people want to hate on right now is the 2023. and it's mostly styling, which is totally subjective, but they do stand out to me and look really modern. just really different from the previous. and there's people upset about no optional larger engine, it is the first year. I'd also say don't be a coward and install the ktuner
I drive a 9th gen earth dreams k series with a cvt. While I wish I had the manual it still offers a lot of fun in an extremely reliable and pretty luxurious ride. Love the look of Accords to except for the 8th gen.
I not only muffler delete but completely removed the exhaust system on my 8th gen accord and it sounds so similar to this just bigger backshots. K24 baby
You should try to meet up with twoPointTwoTurbos. He has an old accord with a completely built engine. Has his own UA-cam channel, does all his own work. Really great channel.
David, just wanted to say you're such a likeable guy, been watching you for years! I can't believe this is the first 90's Accord you've driven. If you get your hands on a CB7, or the generation before, you'll really understand the love...and I've owned damn near everything under the sun. Accords are amazing!!
I would love to see you in a properly set up first generation TSX. They're basically the European accord type S. Everyone knows the k24a2 but what many don't realize is the accord family has the same suspension setup as the NSX and S2000 with double wishbones up front and a five arm watts link independent rear suspension. I have a '06 TSX with upgraded control arms, bushings, sway bars, Bilstein dampers, eibach progressive springs, spherical sway bar adjustable end links, and a big rear sway bar and you wouldn't believe the way that accord handles. Then there's the usual bolt-ons + time and the other noteworthy thing is I've upgraded to TL type S brakes. David there's a guy in VA Beach named Justin Barrett with a comptech supercharged black TSX with a proper full build that would be a great example for you to see what the chassis is capable of. The TSX is more than just a motor donor. When spoon sports decided to enter the US market they chose the CL7 Accord / TSX chassis because it had the best suspension setup of all the Hondas of that era. The Civic and RSX went to McPherson struts leaving only the Accord / TSX with double wishbones. They said that car was the best handling front wheel drive car they've ever seen. Larry Chen did a really great video on the spoon CL7 euroR endurance race car.
Had a 99 5spd. Put koni yellow struts, stock coils and replaced rotors with a brembo with hawk pads. Holy hell could that go thru some twisty roads. Will find another one someday.
This video is making me nostalgic for my old 95 accord. Sadly it was an automatic and had a lot of issues from years of neglect. Still despite that it had this magic to its drivability

This was the first car I ever owned! It had a F22B1 VTEC, but with an H23 head swap. This thing was a blast. I wish I never got rid of the CD4 ACCORD. I’m trying to find my old car if not something similar.
Going on 13 years on my 97 accord. It's had many forms. And regardless of the pain. I can't put myself to get rid of it.
The only thing makin me look at a newer accord is honda is done making parts for them
I have a 97 se, so reliable
The best combination is to get a h22 trans and use the Accord 5th gear so it's not revving 4k @ 80mph.
i just got a 96 ex with 179k on it!
The F22A4 is fucking indestructible with a 5 speed.
I have a 1996 accord ex sedan I plan on putting a twin turbo charge in it and a computer system with a added on straight pipe once i take the muffler off😭❤️
@@giovanicastro3564did u do it?
This was my first car, 95 accord f22 VTEC, I jumped the car, reverse donuts in it, e brake slides, burnouts, raced everything I came up next to, etc. I beat the car everyday as hard as I could for about a year before someone rear ended me and totaled it. The car WOULD NOT die. It will forever hold a place in my heart, definitely an unappreciated platform. Thanks for the video!
Most underrated car reviewer
He has 1.24 million I don’t consider that underrated 😂
@@LongBeachPyro 😅
How is it out there? I plan on moving there in the near future
Nobody hates the accord...
I love the Accord Chasis , I have a mint 1992 Accord EX AKA CB7 no rust very clean with a H23A Swap full Bolt ons.
pushing 220whp Tuned.
Love the clickbait title as always 😂
To sum up why these aren't seen as often: parts are rare.
I've always loved the accord! I've owned a 91, 97,and now I own a 19 Accord 2.0T
Finally I been waiting on this. Very slept on platform for sure. They ride so well. Got the 91 and the 96 Accord.
My parents had this when I was a kid and I loved it so much because of how sporty it looked and felt. Now I drive a 2016 Accord Sport with the K24.
My first stick shift was a 94 Honda accord (in 2007). I loved that thing so much. I now own a Golf R (still manual), but I genuinely miss that Accord
Love that build, clean is always the way to go man I swear
This is one of the nicest 5th gen Accord builds I think I've seen. Great color too!
I had a '97 Acura 2.2CL, manual, with a full tokico suspension, brembo brakes all around, etc...same car. Totally underrated, as well!
Stock k24 with wheel and suspension mods cleaned up really nice.
the reason h22 and h23 sucked was that the transmission took you out of vtek every gear!!!! H2B kept the engine boiling!
Great cars.
Drove a boosted f23 6th gen for 5 years. was my first car and first manual car. I learned a lot from that car and miss it still 8 years later
There is a few of us who adore this Generation Accord specifically. Thanks for making the video.
I had that h23blue top in my prelude I will say you HAVE to tune this engine to get some good power out of it. Stock it's a little slow.
My first car (that wasn't a hand-me-down) was an '88 Accord. Love that car to this day. Would love to get into an early 90s Accord project.
There is a 99 accord in my front yard and a 01 that's my dad 😮
I love my Honda Accords, I have three, one is a 2002 coupe 4 cyl. 5speed man. And I have two 2004 sedans with the k24A 5 speed man. transmissions. They're practically indestructible! The sedans have almost 270k miles on them and the coupe with only 160k miles and they are all going strong to this day and for many more in the future. You're friends Accord is really nice, he did some tasteful mods on it that's not too subtle but not outrageous either.
I used to laugh at Honda's until I discovered the Best Motoring series. Now I have a new found respect for them.
watching this brings back memories of my 97 accord with the f20b2. was a beast of a first car for a 97 baby like myself, car was made same year i was born.
My first car, 97 accord. It’s been in the same family its entire life before I bought it and because of that it was kept in very good condition.
My first project car when I was 18 was a CB7 Accord H22a turbo swapped.. I really want to build another Accord love those older bodies.
I’d have taken that Accord back in the day as a first car. Easy to work on like David said and can be fun.
This video popped up on my feed after I just got an H22A for my 6th gen. Grew up on accords and always loved them ❤
I have a Honda civic hybrid with a manual and I’m honestly surprised how fun it is while still hitting 35-50 mpg anywhere I go.
Ive got a 95 LX that i lifted a couple years ago. Snapped a piston rod on a road trip and recently got another f22b2 put in it while i rebuild and upgrade the original engine.
My dad had one when I was a kid and I’ve wanted one of my own ever since!
I have a 6th gen. What a good car. One day it’ll be swapped. They’re underrated!
Awesome video on 5th generation of Accord with H23A Blue top, it is good mild power and torquey. I have my 94 Accord on H23A Blue Top with T2W4, love it. 😁👌
Sometimes I miss my 2000 3.0 V6 Accord sedan. It was so fun to drive and the looks aged gracefully inside and out.
The engine isn't the Best, as the piston rods might go through the block if you throw some boost on there, but it's a Honda, so you can swap a Much better motor in there with little issue (Would recommend an H22 for the Cb7)
i had a 2002 Accord coupe, 4 cylinder 5 speed and i freaking loved that thing man. that was a great car.
When I was really young mom had a 5th gen like this one but then she got a 7th gen that became mine (and she's driving a 9th gen now)
Im not hating. But I cant remember the last time I saw one on the road. And if I did it was sadly beaten and rusted into submission.
Currently dailying an 1.5t 6 speed Accord. I’m impressed with the midrange torque from turbocharging.
My accord still runs and at 260k+ miles. Wish you were able to review my Accord when I met you in Atlanta. I moved back to CA 😢.
One of the most underrated Honda on earth but I love it the single cam is so good in my opinion I just love everything about this car ❤
You should really try out any Accord V6 with the 6 Speed
I got 2 of em. Wago in green with f22B1 and a purple sedan with the f22A. Even the old F block is still a blast
I used to want this chassis as my first car back in high school (early-mid 00s). You can swap in a F20B or H22A easily. A spirited reliable daily driver
94 accord was my 1st car ever. So much nostalgia just seeing the interior 🤩
Wanted one in coupe form back in the day. Never panned out but I’ve always liked them.
the only one people want to hate on right now is the 2023. and it's mostly styling, which is totally subjective, but they do stand out to me and look really modern. just really different from the previous. and there's people upset about no optional larger engine, it is the first year. I'd also say don't be a coward and install the ktuner
Highly recommend engine management to unlock the engine full potential🤓hondata, or ECU swap haltech, aem infinity & a tuner. Dope build 🙌 . Proud 3rd 💎 GEM Prelude owner..
I love these 5th gen Accords 🔥🔥I’m currently building a 94 Accord
