    Love going back to watch these older videos. You show how you really had to grind since the start. Let alone going to college/working full time as a mechanic then doing it full time for both of you.

    if you wind up having trouble with idle fuel mixture move the O2 sensor to the exhaust pipe between the turbo and the engine. There will be quite a bit of air being pulled into the turbo outlet between exhaust and could throw off the sensor readings. OR "It will be fine!"
    thanks for the videos!

    Keep an eye on the readings from that O2 sensor. If it's too close to the end of the exhaust, you can get some false readings with outside air swirling back inside. I would put it between the engine and turbo. You might need a deeper bung though (that's what he said), so it doesn't block half of that tiny pipe.

On that note, I learn something new every time I watch one of your mechanically focused videos. Just wanted to let you know how much I, and certainly others, enjoy your content.

    Turn the main frame tube into the gas tank. Mount the fuel pump under the seat. Make a louvered aluminum box to fit in the location of the stock fuel tank and hold the electrics, then add a small tube for the cooling air from the engine's fan running into the electrical box.

    • @ronaldcolman6211
      @ronaldcolman6211 8 років тому

      Scratch that, mount the alt on top of the engine and drive it like I said before. Mount the electrics in the back of the seat, done.

    the O2 sensor should be mounted upwards a little bit inclined. downwards accumulates humidity and therefore makes it work poorly (or not work at all)

    Once it's together, should eventually replace the ugly pipe with one that's nicely bent by filling with fine sand and heating it up to do a nice smooth even bend. Should flow better too.
    Also I'd still say a front fender would make it more enjoyable to ride when done, you'll eat less gravel and dirt. And mount an amber LED running light on the fender for style points.

    I know this is an old project but just a reminder you have probably heard by now. Never mount an o2 sensor in the bottom of an exhaust pipe. Moisture build up in the sensor will kill it since it can't drain out of it.

    Hey guys, Been watching for a good while really dig your builds.On the manifold from the turbo to the engine why not try usingshort flanged fittings on the turbo and engine using hose of the proper pressure rating? Maybe a small radiator hose from a small car. The tight angles are a flow killer and this could boostthe power. It would prevent gasket blow-outs, with the flex in the hose. Great work guys, keep the videos coming.

    could have saved yourselves one shitlload of trouble and heartache if you only read your comments. like I already said when you fitted the turbo at first you could have used the same principle as the A series Rover mini metro turbo carburatted system. it's as simple as sealing the carb and venting the bowl directly from the pressure side of the inlet and using a fuel pump that delivers petrol to the bowl at 5 or so psi more than max boost of the turbo. and yes the carb goes between the turbo and the head, and not before the turbo, most simple, reliable and easy way to do it. Mike.

    It's a pity you didn't see my comments containing a lot of help on setting up your EFI. You have the o2 sensor mounted upside down, so it will fill up with water after a few times and destroy the sensor rendering it useless, so you'll have to buy a new one every few weeks or so. Not a good idea to weld the plug while the sensor is in there either, if you placed it correctly on the top it would have been fine to weld.
