@@capsulamental I think she means just long legs, not being tall in itself. As a tall girl I can't count how many times I've been rejected bc of my height lol. It's like when a guy is short.
@@capsulamental As someone who is 4'11", i actually look taller with the long skirt and oversized sweater. it's because of the vertical lines it creates. it definitely doesn't make me look skinner tho lol
She literally did pair a tight top and heels w a miniskirt tho. She just threw a jacket over it. So ig if she gets too hot at.any point, it's back to square one.
I liked the second “don’t”, the loose grey v neck sweater with the black skirt. had a sort of retro look, like an art teacher in the 90s or sort of a 1920s silhouette. to each their own
You would definitely have to lean into that !! I think a fun patterned top that creates a waist paired with a long loose cardigan would work beautifully (a classic!). And of course a long and bold necklace or big scarf to complete the look 🙌😆 Or you could go all out with the boxy silhouette and get a long loose sweater that has big shoulders like the 80s 😳
My Do and and Don’t of fashion = Don’t: listen to what other people think you should wear. Do: wear whatever you want that makes you happy, comfortable, and confident.
You're changing both body language and at what temperature are these outfits comfortable. Usually when i feel like wearing miniskirt it's not a weather for a god damn blazer
It only works if the sweater is super oversized in all areas (like lowered shoulders etc). The shirt she showed in the video as an example just didn’t work with the skirt. I personally really like to wear oversized hoodies with pleated skirts, especially if they’re in colors that balance each other (e.g. bright pink with cream)
That’s normally with short skirts though and comes off more juvenile, so I think it’s probably just doesn’t work with the particular aesthetic this woman is styling for. She doesn’t really want to look cute or girlish, but more “elegant” and “mature”/like those really tall models you see in photos. Definitely still cute, probably just doesn’t work for the image she IN PARTICULAR, is trying to create!
It looks inelegantly and makes look fat because of too wide outfit. Rule is to show legs or upper part of body, never cover both, never show both but this outfit cover both so it looks unpleasnt.
@@alcookie I think it's fine, I like it personally. But it depends on your body type, not everything looks good on everyone. Personally I'd never wear it because it never looks good on me, but it can look great on other people. Styling tips help but they're not absolute, they can still work for different people and similar pieces.
Yeah, dress according to your body! These "tips" are only good for those with similar body shapes. I'd suggest looking deeper into the fashion community to find someone that looks similar to you! There are tons of good channels out there with great tips 😄
for inverted triangle, try to use A line skirt to create balance. use dark colors for your tops and light colors for your bottoms to create illusion. Avoid shoulder pads and tops that reveal your shoulder since it's going to make your shoulder wider than it supposed to be. Also try to take Kibbe body type quiz so you can understand more about your body and what kind of outfit you should wear
Honestly go full out, embrace your broader shoulders and get into bigger jackets and squares. Of course I slid headfirst across the gender scale when I did it so to each their own
Yeah just looks like she has no pants on which emphasizes the weight on top and make her look skinnier on bottom... I think that's the point. It's a skinny ppl tip if you know what i mean 🙄🙄🙄
Fashion tips only work in your size range tbh. I’m too thick for any of these they would be horribly unflattering and/or make me completely shapeless ://
I have long skinny legs and wide shoulders. If I throw on a large blaser like the one in the video, I'll totally look like a chupa-chups lol To each their own. We all have different bodies and all look different in the same outfit. So I hope that all the queens out there will not take those videos too seriously and wear whatever makes them feel beautiful, confident and comfortable.
Same. I'm short and while I can and do wear some loose clothes, styling in in the way she did 1st shirt (too much loose in the front + put into skirt/pants) only makes me look short and fat... and I'm not even fat at all.
@@lara-xb9dk Nope, it's more of her figure than being skinny. I am skinny, and can and do wear some loose clothes, but if I style it in that way (tucked into skirt/pants + too much loose around waist) I STILL manage to look fat and shapeless.
Curvy can be skinny/slim. Skinny doesn't automatically mean a stick :'D. If you mean chubby then it's sadly little trickier, as a chubby girl I love wearing oversized tops and tight bottoms.
I'm petite with a curvy figure and I know all the baggy styles she promotes would just make me look simultaneously bigger and like I'm drowning in them. I would only take her advice if I had a similar body type (and liked het style)
The 2nd tho you could wear the sweater inside the skirt at the front, Koreans do tend to do full oversize looks and they slay. I think the problem are the boots
Last one: Don't pair a strip top with a mini skirt, instead pair a strip top with a mini skirt, with a blazer. My question here: What if I actually don't want to sweat my ass off?
Honestly something like a wide neck sleeveless silk blouse 👚 loose not form fitting or a man's style silk shirt. Just make sure it's oversized and boxy not too short sleeved or else will look secretariat
I think it’s very hard to do fashion tips these days especially when there are so many different body types and colourings as well as personal preferences to consider. I think instead of naming them fashion tips it’s better to repurpose them as ‘How I dress’ and ‘Fashion Looks I Enjoy’. That also avoids the whole ‘Just Wear What You Want’ dilemma.
I wear all my skirts nearly the same way, most of my skirts are high waisted, some are a-line and others are maxi skirts, and almost all of my shirts are relatively tight fitting. Im short and nothing makes me look shorter or taller… 😅
I love Lydia’s tips. It really helped me elevate my personal style. I obviously incorporated the tips that were suited to me, and didn’t blindly copy everything. Really disheartening to read people type pedantic comments. Lydia thank you! Ignore the pedantic people
The pleated skirt will look great with a cropped sweater if you want a 90’s look. If it’s too hot out , ditch the blazer and opt to pair a dressy or casual T shirt with your mini skirt. Keep the heels 👌🏽
Yeah i can already see this ain't for MY body type. I'm an inverted triangle. Baggy big top stuff is only gonna make me look more huge, and my bottom tiny.
Do's of fashion: wear whatever you like and feel comfortable in, sometimes you'll have clothes that are gonna be in fashion again in near future so rarely have to buy new clothes

Ooff can u pls make dos and don'ts when it comes to summer outfits? I feel like ure not allowed to wear tops and shorts/skirts EVER without a jacket or coat or blouse... Is that really the case?😭 Does fashion always have to be good looking but so impractical? 😭😭😭😭
Nah she's not right about the last look. I've been wearing tops, mini skirts and sandal heels forever and models do too. I've always been complimented esp. by guys how elegant but sexy I look. However the trick is to choose a rather monochrome look (all white or all black, or mint/tan/light blue top with white skirt or the opposite) and get yourself some sparkly or interesting sandals to emphasize those skinny legs. Actually theres a certain body type that can pull this look the best and that's the more athletic body type or the hourglass. If someone is pear shaped or with thick or "less shapely" legs they should stick to longer skirts to emphasize their booty without risking an "accident" with their mini skirt.. Hence why an extra large blazer isnt the best call for a body which is either very straight (athletic type) or has wider shoulders (hourglass or inverted triangle) and which is the most common body type that would pick up a mini skirt to show off their amazing legs.. It's kinda like wearing a crop top to show off a great midriff but then layering it with a blazer that hides the section- would make 0 sense.
Florida is not cold enough to be wearing blazers and I actually like the second don’t it looks more casual than the do like something casual to wear to like the library on a colder day
