I've had that one from the Umina bakery. The one that claims to be the worlds hottest Pie. All the boys in the footy show tried one on back in the day and it basically ruined that show. None of them could talk after it. It's the one that destroyed Matty Johns on radio. I ate it for smoko one day, and then washed it down with a steak and kidney pie and a chocky milk. I know it's only a gimmick (maybe?)but the baker made me sign a health waiver before he would sell it to me. It pastry on top was fluorescent orange. Don't get any on your fingers and scratch your balls
We dont take it out of the tin foil. Not many people I know do..... We eat it from the tin, bending it back as we go. Some of us use the bag it comes in. That pie looks perfect.

Mince is what U call ground beef. Same diff. Also pies come in a heeeeap of different types/flavours. U can get steak & mushroom, skeak,bacon & cheese, also chicken, chicken curry....plenty of types. Steak pies are a bit different to a plain olde pie. Its made from actual steak. Chunks of it. Not ground up, like mince. A whole other experience, provided U get a good one. For me, the pastry hasta be good tho...makes all the difference.
We have pies, y'all have your chilly dogs, burgers and taco's. They're all "hand held" cooked meat products that you can add different sauces to. Same, same really... We're not that different dude 😂😅
The reason we don’t have ketchup, is because that is the stupidest name for that product. It is a sauce that is made of tomato’s, hence the name tomato sauce. Why is this so hard to comprehend? And yes, we have savoury pies, beef mince, steak, chicken, kangaroo etc… we also have the sweet pies as well. I don’t know who eats those, as I certainly don’t… Maybe the bakeries sell them for the Canadian tourists…
The fact that Americans are surprised by meat pies means they are not being taught much history. Meat pies have been around for 100s of years yeah recipes have changed over time. Aussie meat pies are different to the traditional British meat pies. But pasties where a popular worker lunch because it was easy to eat with your hands and was hardy meal too. It isn't anything new

Im always sceptical of pies sold in foil. Usually means the base is too soft.
Beef mince (ground beef or hamburger) and gravy.

The sauce we 🇦🇺 call "tomato sauce" has similar ingredients to the sauce North Americans call "tomato ketchup."
To be clear we have, and have always had tomato ketchup here in Australia. In 45 years I've only ever seen 1 brand of ketchup 🫠 Heinz ftw
