I’ve seen guys finding gold all the way up in Northern VA. No nuggets, but there’s plenty of it you can find it. There’s a very public park with guys who will backpack in all their equipment lol
Hey I love your videos man excellent info and production. I have one minor suggestion to bring your voice volume up and music volume down 💕. I was turning my volume up and down but really enjoyed watch the time elapse then like oh he's talking gotta turn it back up! Lol I really appreciate you taking the time to share this please make more!
No, definitely has not been fixed. I had to keep dealing with my eardrums being blown or not being able to hear you in all your videos. Great content but the audio issue is unbearable.
@@shenanigans8apeach I am sorry about that. It really should be fixed in most of the newer videos. Nick has taken over on editing and he is far better at it then I am. For any I make in the future I will not add music.
@@theprospectinggeologist4347 not yet. I've been learning claim one. I'm gonna hit claim nine before the end of the season. I found a really nice pile on claim one that no ones hit and the creek runs through it.
Looks like you pulled a good nice amount of color. From the looks of the trees, this was a bit ago and you should be on the color and in the shade by now...
Thanks! It was a decent short day, i think the total came to a little under a half gram, for a few hours of dredging. This spot produced decent gold but since then the second possible spot has been producing better gold so we have been focusing our efforts there.
@@theprospectinggeologist4347 ,well if you ever need some company. Judy and I would be more than happy to head up ,given enough heads up time. HH AND Gold Luck
You don’t need permits to pan for gold in VA. The rivers are open ground to prospect just make sure you access from a public access location like a boat ramp. Other then that everything is pretty much private property and requires land own permission but there are no permits from the state or anything like that.
Sorry to hear that. What was it about the music? Just the type or generally too loud? Ive been working on making sure it isnt too loud when it switches from normal audio to the music. Thanks for watching though!
Hey so wanting to do this on weekends and new so how do you know if someone has claimed an area I have found some creeks on site but idk if I can go there without it being trespassing
Hey buddy I think you did a wonderful job on this video keep up the good work man good to see you getting out there I haven't been able to get out there in about 2 weeks
Thanks! This one is from back in the beginning of March. I have probably a 10 video back log lol. So there will be more coming out. And yeah my month of July has zero prospecting in it. Only metal detecting and beaches lol. I'm dying to dredge again.
That you are buddy I would love to get to Virginia and try some of that stuff out one day because the drinking around here is mainly smaller stuff and I would kill to be able to learn some geology gold and most of its host Rock and all that kind of good stuff LOL
@@bjthecrow Im currently in the planning stages for doing a video series on geology for the gold prospector. That will be a multipart series and ill really have to try to keep my rambling to a minimum lol.
LOL well I'm really looking forward to it I wish that I would have went to school for that instead of went to school for what I did but we live and we learn well it was very nice to have met you and gained another friend and the gold mining world
Haha yes I would love to pick them off the bedrock like candy. But I still haven’t located the historic spot on this creek that produces ounce nuggets.

Yep the gold belt runs right up to DC. Nuggets can be found in many areas of the gold belt but they are rare.
Where in VA are you located?
VA. Prospector here looks like you were on the gold. 👍👍👍
Thanks! Wasn’t too bad of day. I plan
To get back to that area this year!

Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoy the videos. Yeah that’s an old video. I believe that issue has been fixed for a good while now.

What claim number is this on? I've only been to claim #1 and #2.. And I missed the meeting today also.. I forgot all about it..

@@Brewersprospecting420 no doubt, ready for another adventure
Is that Tongue quarter creek?
No, this was on private property further north.
Did you relocate to Idaho?
No. Live in PA now but still prospect VA.
Is there any places in Virginia that you can go and pan for gold where you don't need a bunch of permits

What state are you in. East coast states don’t have claims. Only private property which you would have to get permission from to access
Hey Matt do you still prospect
Yes just not much currently. New baby and moving and a bunch of family stuff.
@@theprospectinggeologist4347 I wanted to give it a shot. Can you recommend a spot.
Golds looking good buddy
New sub here , that tree couldn't have fell any better across the creek......
Haha yes it made for a nice bridge over where I was working.
How does one move all that equipment there and back again/
I use an atv with a small trailer. Most the places I go, you can't get a truck to.
The bigger question: Is it worth it? A lot of work, for a very little Gold!
