man creating legendaries seems like such an insane grind, im still trying to grind for full ascended gear and it's taken me a few weeks of slowly chipping away at it. These legendaries seem insane, like month long grinds. I'm looking forward to it tbh
I also felt like that couple years ago and now I have many of them. Once you make your first one the next ones just seem to come faster and faster.

I just crafted and sold a gen 3 pistol and it sold in 3 hours, no undercutting required. I found it a pretty fun way to make some gold.

Someday I'll be able to sell legendaries, but right now the functional value of having them means I'd never craft a legendary I wouldn't bind. Account value for the win.
If you have the spirit shards, you could always just craft and sell one first and THEN craft and keep the next one, that way you’ll have a good head start for when you want to make the next one. That’s what I’ve been doing and it’s worked out nicely.

bro i feel so ashamed watching this xddd its like im not even playing the same game. i have only 1 bank tab and i ve been playing for 6 years by now, also just 6 chars, 3 shared slots (just thx to the expansions) and i have no idea how to make gold.(i do cms plus t4 daily, sometimes metas, raids, strikes, but everything i want is too expensive :( i am always struggling around 200 g and I just spend gold on buying skins from time to time. but god i would love to have at least one lege weapon 😭🙏
and here i am after 6 years at 0 leggy and 0 crafting xd
70 hours of grinding later. For streamers that's what? 2 weeks, 3 weeks? For an average player who works or goes to school and can't play that much. Probably about 4-5 months? maybe longer? I can't see this being a realistic way for an average player to make gold.
Well it's perfectly fine as long as you are patient, the gold per hour will be high. If you don't play much any method will be very slow because it's always g/h. However, what this method really does is magnifiy your assets, you can turn stuff you farmed with small stuff (30 min/1hr chunks) (as very clearly explained in the video ofc) into a larger asset that is worth more than the sum of it's parts because of account bound stuff.

So unnecessarily complicated and complex...
I need about a few dozen different materials, and I need to use a wiki in order to make sense of what I need and what to combine, how to get it, etc. It's just way too much for no reason.
And it's sad, because legendaries seem to be the only meaningful and worthwhile reward that you could go for in the game.
I am planning to return to the game once the expansion drops, but this just reminds me about some of the reasons I quit the game.
Meanwhile this complex crafting system is the main reason a lot of people continue to play the game. It gives value to every map, making you go back and complete old content so that there are always players on all maps and the game always feels active. It forces you to experience different gamemodes such as pvp wvw raids fractals and open world, so you get the full gameplay experience.
And most importantly it gives you something to constantly grind towards. Most MMOs have a cap where you run out of shit to do and you are only grinding because you're in the habit of grinding, or many have a treadmill that goes faster and faster until it feels impossible to keep up and FOMO goes into overdrive. GW2 is super chill, grind towards what you want to, and you know there will always be a meaingful grind you can work towards.
Also EVEN BETTER if you don't want to engage with legendary crafting, then dont? Ascended gives the exact same stats and power. And you can go grind for whatever you want with your ascended gear and no one will question you. Infact it's like 10x more time efficient to never craft legendaries, they're like what 2000gold each? And an ascended is 30 gold. You can walk around with 66 pieces of ascended gear to the price of a single legendary. You will never in your lifetime need more than 66 pieces of gear.
@@MyNameIsSalo You've said it yourself, it doesn't just nudge you into doing that content, it forces you to do stuff that you might not like or enjoy. But that's besides the point. The grind could've stayed the same, and if they had just made it less complicated, I'm sure many more people would try to get a legendary.
It's a common theme in GW2 that it does something just to be different, or to solve certain problems that other games have. Sometimes it succeeds and creates something better, and sometimes it doesn't.
For me the game feels pointless after I've spent ~600h playing it. Constantly doing the same events over and over, for basically nothing, as I'm not getting any stronger, meaning I don't do stuff any faster, meaning I'm pretty much grinding shit only for gold, looks, and convenience, rather than raw power.
And that's okay for a lot of people who don't want the constant gear treadmill. I don't like the constant treadmill either, but I do need some sort of vertical progression to keep me playing the game.
Then go play LostArk, it suits more with that kind of shallow comment from you. Guild Wars 2 has been around since 2012 and is still successful for these and various reasons, other games the sense of having strong dolls after a certain point and entirely for their own meager ego.
