I didn't know I needed millennials reacting to edutainment games from their childhood in my life, but I could not stop laughing when you started watching the Ozzy Otter playthrough.
One of the best edutainment games was Bookworm Adventures.
I'd watch 10 straight hours of Jules watching old edutainment games playthroughs.
Shrek stealing Zelda music reminded me that a metal band put the main theme for Zelda in one of their songs. They´re called Power Paladin and the song is Righteous Fury.
It would be amazing if Jules did covers of the Dragon's Tale music.
The FamilyJules Nostalgia Hour, with your host, Cadence of Hyrule Guitarist
4:09 So what you're saying is Shrek Dragon's Tale's OsT is Zelda Instrumental Hip Hop
lmao for April Fools you should do a Shrek: Dragon's Tale guitar medley
1:27 Is that why you wanted Jon to play that the first time you guested on Fortune Cookie?
Oh yeah, the Clue speedrun’s great but nigh impossible to beat since it’s just making the accusation with the first options available and praying to RNGesus that you’re right.
Dude the Ozzy otter part was so funny, it radiates so much dank energy I love it (also Shrek 2 for PS2 was fantastic, super fun coop game imo)
3:52 it was bothering me so much why I recognized this sound effect, and I now realize it was the sound that the self-serve scanner at my old library made when you scanned your card to sign out books. I'm not even kidding
I literally lived at the library in those days. I heard that sound almost every day. The same five notes. And they apparently popped up in a Shrek game
I wish I could find the pc games from my childhood. There's this old dungeon crawler in 1st person that is too vague to describe. I want that Ratatouille moment.
So I found the game recently, it's called Mordor: The Depths of Dejenol and it's super addicting to me. I finally had my moment!
2021 felt really really slow to me. And then I remembered 'oh right this was probably from 2020'.
And then it wasn't. o.o
The Shrek music that they stole from Zelda sounds like... a creepy pasta version of Ocarina of Time.
Also we had a similar-ish game in out classrooms in primary school. It was 'Zombini's Logical Journey'.
...Damn I miss that game.
Oh, jeez, I remember that game.
"THERE'S SOMETHING ON THERE I DON'T LIKE!"
@@GuyYouMetOnline "This topping? Not for me."
@@ShadowdaHedgie11 Not NEARLY as memorable a line.
But yeah, of the many 'edutainment' games there are and were, that stands out as one that was actually good. I loved that game when I was young, and always found the puzzles to be interesting and have the right difficulty balance (even if I did cheese the matching ones by always filling my roster with twins). It also helped that they were about logical reasoning rather than doing math or learning historical facts or the stuff a lot of edutainment focuses on.
@@GuyYouMetOnline Well, yeah, but you took the most memorable line. :P
And yeah, the game was way better than it had any right to be. Definitely not a bad thing, just surprising.
@@ShadowdaHedgie11 I think the problem with edutainment games is that they too often just spit facts or whatever at you, or have you do math problems or whatever just because. Zoombinis succeeded because it incorporated the education fully into the game. It taught you logical reasoning by being a puzzle game with puzzles based on logic. And it also did a very good job of being clear and easy to start while you learned the games and the ways to think in order to clear them and then ramping up the challenge to require you to apply the logic in more complex ways.
And you're right; I did take the most memorable line.
Vinesauce sent me here
“Tonight on Fox News; He’s love, he’s life, and he’s now on trial for copyright. Shrek’s bold attempt to steal music from the biggest game franchise will not end in V-Smiles, but V-Frowns. More on that later. But first, we have the 100% scientific explanation on why former president Trump is our lord and savior who is just misunderstood.” (I had to make it more like Fox News)
Holy shit, I played that Shrek V-Smile game before I even knew what Zelda was
6:32
I had this on my home PC, and played it a lot. That's some nostalgia right there
Shrek: The Legend of Fiona
OH MY GOD I haven't thought about mathstorm since I was in like first grade.
I love how most of this is just memory lane and looking at other games
Clicked this on a whim, literally just subscribing because you say "crayon" the same way I do
Running Shrek would be so on brand.
I knew about KidPix but rarely tried it.
I wonder who here remembers Math Circus? That was my jam.
does anybody remember a pc game from the 90s that had yellow goop everywhere? I think it was a math game. I haven't played it since I was 5 but it lives rent free in my brain and I can't find it.
What game stole Ocarina of Time music?
Does anyone know what the 3d animation soundwave thing Jules was talking about is?
Treasure Mathstorm was my JAM as a kid
Holy shit I had that shrek v-smile game
Speedrun bakugan battle brawlers
The Legend Of Shrek The Dragon Of Time
You need to find a speedrun of Gubble
THANKS FOR REFERRING ME😊😊😊
Ey shoutout to the editor tho
Ozzy the Otter is just a modern day shitpost
"DONT MAKE FUN OF THE WAY I SAY CRAN" Crayonberries, am I right?
BOI
Just started playing Infernax.
Gj on the music jules!
Its super fun. The whole team deserves accolades.
Almost thought this was gonna be an ocarina of time speedrun vid.
Also, I know putt putt from PeanutButterGamer.
Ps. I’d totally watch Jules react to speedruns.
Damn was so close to looking at Shrek 2 for GC.... (cough I'm 4th place on there)
I honestly thought this was a joke, but no, they just "remade" ocarina of time music, in a shrek game no less
I think the game Jules is talking about with the shapes might be Thinkin Things? There's a program in it where you can animate shapes and set it to music. Either way that Rataouilled me back 20 years.
Lego Island gets mentioned.
MattKC: "Someone needs my help"
I imagine that these animations wete draw using multiple layers or something and they accidentally added a frame were the mouth was there instead or something
Wait oh my God, I actually played the dragons tale one as a kid. I'm losing it
The 3d animation that goes to music you were talking about reminds me of Animusic, however it's not a game so I'm not sure if it's what you're thinking of
I would love to see Jules run Shrek 2 on the gamecube. Too bad he doesn't own one
Idk why I was reminded of Shrek crash and racing now?
Love how lowkey Jules Coconut Mall'd us 😂
The otter game is so extremely cursed
Gonna be honest, this 16 star arc feels more and more like of a filler arc the more I see of it.
it was an intended filler arc going in honestly
Not saying it's a bad thing, I kinda got the same vibe during the Tony Hawk arc after all.
