I was born in the 40s. The more knicks knacks, the more impressive. It was the ultimate gift. And homemade? Not so admired. Oh, the dusting! Thank goodness we edit them now and show them in the season. Now homemade is treasured. Thanks for sharing.
1981 here! I'm feeling every bit of 42 and then some too 😂 we had those crazy clown knick knacks in my baby brother's room and they freaked me out every time I went in there to get something for my mom. I'd tip toe in there, snatch up a diaper or whatever, then run as fast as I could out of there 😁 beautiful projects today ❤
I was born in the late 60s. I dusted those knick knacks!😊 My grandmother had porcelain heart shaped jewelry box . I own that now.❤ She also had a cluster of yellow gold glass grapes! I was fascinated by them!😲
That sounds amazing about the grapes!! So awesome you own that!! My dad's mom collected clowns..lol They are hidden somewhere out of site the ones we kept..lol
Born in the early 60’s… I had lots of Knick knacks along with 175 sets of salt and peppers ( ya. Ugh) In my 40’s, I streamlined and went to almost minimalist. Now that I have turned 60 (oh dear heavens that sounds old), I have started adding back . Not too much that my kids will have to deal with when I’m gone (I figure my craft supplies will be bad enough 😂😂😂) but just enough to bring in some “cozy” So happy I found your channel! Such a talented artist you are!
60is young!! You could leave little notes under the nik naks for the kids to find later. Joe was my favorite Just kidding it was Jessica I have a ton of money stashed somewhere in this house...lol Oh the stories they will tell about their moms nik nacks..lol
I was born in the 70s and my grandma had lots and lots of nick nacks. My mom had some but not many. I love the ombre jars, my favorite is the one that goes up more. 😍
I was born in the late 60s.....yes I'm old....😂...I love all the things! My absolute favorite is the shoe. I gotta love me some princess shoes...who am I kidding... I love shoes! You are an amazing creator! I love these techniques. I'm gonna see how many I can botch up 🤣😂🤣
Born in early 50’s 😮. Oh yes knickknacks were everywhere. They are back in style aren’t they? As always I learned so much from you. Love the ducks, you have such a vision
I was born in late 70s and yes knick knacks were in everyone's houses. Love all your techniques. You are awesome girl. Have a great week my friend. Take care😊
I love it all! Born in in 1970 here and I STILL say and have Knick knacks. You might want to check out the drama with Dixie Belle painting you haven’t already. A lot of crafters are boycotting them for shady stuff
Lula'sNest My favorite was the little sitting duck. On the ombre, I liked the one with the paint going to the top. Brandi as good as your diys have been...you have REALLY upped your game this year!!!💖💖💖💖💖
I appreciate you noticing my friend! I have been really trying to find things I think my audience will love more so then just what I want to make. It is challenging my artistic ability as well as hoping to bring more creativity ideas and projects to the community
I love everything, Brandi. My favorite is the beautiful shoe. Thank you for sharing all of these. I like the ombre jar that goes almost to the top. God Bless you and your family.
I was born in the late fifties and my grandma lived with us permanently. Knick knacks were a thing for my whole life. Everyone had them. There were even trends with the knick knacks...like bowls with fake grapes in them. Some things should never be repeated. Jus sayin... Brandi, I love all the paint ideas you shared with us. I will definitely be trying a bunch. Thanks sweetie
You make it too hard to choose. I love them all. Like the old knick knack collectors, I love wall plates. I'm always wishing I had more places to put them.
Well I can never pick one or two, cause I really love how they all came out! I thought they all were really beautiful! Thank you so much Brandi for sharing these amazing ideas! ❤️❤️
I absolutely love watching you!! You're creative, talented, hysterically funny (I'm sorry but that's sooo true... I live alone and sit here cracking up all by myself 😂). I appreciate you sharing your knowledge 💝
The Lil jars you just did my favorite is the one w/blue coming up I never tried adding baking soda cause I knew I'd mess it up but I'm gonna try asap thanx Brandi
Yes, I know exactly what nick nacks were. I’m also a 70s baby …LOL. Sorry Brandi but I just can’t choose only one of these paint hacks, all are marvelous & some I didn’t even knew about. 😂😜🤣
I like to mix baking soda with paint and modpodge for a hard as cement surface on glass. The texture is amazing, and dry brushing looks so good over it.
Aww thank you! It deff was not for my moms mother either. She had things particularly placed and spread out that was about it..lol the the bowl on the tables was all for candy..lol and the nick knack next to it that looked like and elephant would have been a lighter or something..lol

We are sisters!!!
Now that would be a blast and probably trouble, lmao!
Very pretty
I am a mid-century baby....and the oldest of 2. By the time my brother came along, my mother had learned that knick-knacks had better be out of reach.
💚🧡💙❤️
I was born in 1956. 😹
Always tell people that I’m three days older than dirt. 🤭
I have used backing soda spackleingredients and white paint to make a fluffy snow for a bench I was making it dried great and it did not flake off
Oh yeah it wont.. adding spackling for sure doing something like that is for sure the best way to last. And, if you seal over it.. done
Yes I also added some mate mod podge to the mixer
@craftsshack always a good choice!!
❤❤❤❤
Me myself and a shoe ❤❤
❤️💚💙💛
