You’ve just given me a reason to buy mugs. I love all my mugs but if I can buy some and sell them I don’t have to listen to everyone complaining they’re taking up space. 😂
Cath Kidston mugs sell well. My highest $ mug was a Joan Rivers TALK Show mug from 1988; Sold for $228 + ship. I was a mega fan & decided it was time to let go.
Oh my goodness! I had that Snoopy mug in my hand and put it back!!! I can't remember where I found it, but it was a month ago. AAAACK! Well, now I know that not all mugs are worthless!!! Thank you for the video!
I hate that! That’s happened to me before. Saw a vase that I was debating on buying but because I was not educated enough in the field of vases, I put it back on the shelf. Went home and out of curiosity I looked up the artisan who made it (his name was on bottom of vase and I at the time didn’t have my phone with me)and come to find out it was worth 9k. No joke. Went back the next morning before they opened and it was GONE😭 Lesson learned. Took me a while to stop beating myself over it lol.
I learn so much from these videos! I just sold an item yesterday that I listed on auction after watching your Halloween video . I had a Katherine’s Collection turkey figurine in my pile . I had no idea about Katherine’s Collection until your research video! Thanks for sharing your research with us
I have 2 different Perdue Pharma cups from when I worked at a pharmacy but after what oxycontin did in so many countries around the world with the opioid crisises, I'm a bit stunned that anyone would want them. That one totally surprised me. Excellent roundup as always.
Love this! Thank you for your research. I haven't found a holy grail like any of these yet, but regularly flip mugs between $20 - $50. Once you develop an eye for it, I think mugs are some of the most highly profitable items out there with minimal competition in the thrift stores. While everyone else is jamming through racks of clothes, I'm quietly sorting through the mug section all by myself.
I have sold 2 Deneen pottery mugs, each for under $30. They featured National Parks. Deneen’s glazes are so beautiful and they are well made - heavy and feel good in your hand.
Kat I haven't been online for a while glad I came back in time to see your video. I enjoy your videos and I learn so much from you. I wanted to tell you how lovely you look, you are just shining.
Thanks to you, I found the vintage Mackenzie Child's mug you featured at the thrift store and made $60 selling it this week. The one I found was unfinished and the marking was too small to read, but I recognized the shape and detail from your video.
Mugs are kind of my weakness. They're my Tervis. 😆 But I've had some winners. I bought one for 50 cents at SA and sold it for $75. I've also sold a couple of Bill Campbells for about $60-70 each.
Also, Lenox Spice Village mugs go for a lot more if you piece them out. I bought a set of 8 for $200 and sold them individually for as much as $90 each. I have also sold a Lenox Spice Village on Etsy for $1500 + $120 shipping. But I am cautious about picking those up now because Lenox is re-releasing it at the original 1989 price of $285 for 24 jars (minus the rack). I'm afraid that might drive down the price of the vintage ones. I have pre-ordered one but don't know when it'll be released.
I lived 30 minutes from Utica, NY before moving to Florida. I knew about their Brewery, but not the mugs! The Joan Crawford mug was my favorite one! Thanks for your research! Happy fall!! Finally...
It says "hand decorated." :-) Dishware "decoration" was a type of art form. First the dish shape was made at a pottery manufacture. Then the decoration was applied. And this could be done in many different ways. These are the ways different companies distinguished their wares (literally dishes). Can you tell I love the dishware category? lol unfortunately I am not having very good sales in it so far... That's why I watched this video. Obviously mugs are EVERYWHERE. NEVER would have guessed the vintage pharma mug would bring that price though! Thanks

This was a great video about mugs!!...I have a couple of those Fire King mugs with Snoopy so now I'm going to look up the value!!...They are part of my Milk Glass collection but with prices like that they might have to end up part of someone else's collection!!...Thx for all your help!! :)))
Wow, eye opening. I do look at mugs, just because I like them. I have sold quite a few...especially Starbucks. I was amazed at those prices and I swear I've seen so many like these...the snoopy? Jadite, weird face ones...maybe I'm imagining or they were different but over the years I do think I've looked right past these before. Instead I've picked up one I thought were cute, would do well - Dolly Parton (not good), garfield McDonalds (not good), some cute Hawaiian mugs (nah) etc. LOL. Still have those for sale in my store. I don't get good cell reception in our thrift stores usually so almost impossible to run comps. And no returns. But I did pick up a new Cobra one for $5...turned out to be very good. I priced lower than comps just because I didn't think I could get $100 for it but dang I sold overnight for $80. I picked up some Starbucks mini mugs (think they are used as ornaments) which a clerk was putting out in little bags at $1.99 a bag, 3 in each one. I scooped those right up, rushing to get them before anyone else LOL. I have done very well with them and got probably 16 mugs in all. One of my best finds, it was exciting. One pair sold for $45, etc. I'll probably watch this video a couple times. A mug selling for over $400?! I would never have thought it. I'll get back to listing and finishing your video. Thank you!
@@JewelsNcrime looked to me like someone turned it into a planter & probably caused the crack creating the hole. Would have been an interesting lamp though!
