I collected stamps as well. I remember Polish stamps to be bigger and with nice and colorful images.
I love your videos man. It's nice to see a real person on UA-cam.
+Chad Morgan Thanks Chad and thank you for watching!
Those are some of the coolest stamps I've ever seen!!!!
Thanks! I am very happy with my collection!
Stamps are cool. They used to sell stamp books at my elementary school's book drive. It was super fun.
+subatomiclaura I like them because they are colorful and they are art!
I am voting for a Weird Paul stamp!!
+Mark Labbett When they do the 2010 decade stamps, hopefully I'll be on there!
Great collection! Loved the variety from different countries! A banana shaped stamp??!! Who would've thought!
+Heramitep Thanks! I remember my sister and I would trade that banana stamp back and forth. I guess I eventually ended up with it - or maybe I got another one somehow!
+Heramitep I'm not sure where it is but I have a set of die-cut banana stamps from Tonga somewhere. A random kiloware find a dealer threw in the box from an ebay score. You can find some very interesting and downright odd stuff floating around.
Another great video weird Paul. I really wish I would have collected stamps as a child.
+Mike Fizzle Thanks! They really appealed to me...they were colorful and had neat stuff on them...kind of like trading cards!
You have an awesome collection. Those monster stamps are really cool.
+Dean Silent Thanks! I really love those monster stamps!
The Danzig joke literally made me laugh out loud.
I'm glad somebody did, Becki!
Funny thing about those Fujeira, Ajman, and Sharjah stamps. They're all what many people call "dunes". During the period directly before the formation of the United Arab Emirates, the Trucial States were independent, thus they issued postage stamps. Well, given the popularity of stamp collecting in the mid 20th century, some enterprising businesspeople decided to capitalize on this and print many thousands of different stamp issues for topical collectors, and then sell them as if they were legitimate stamps. Thus you end up getting all sort of weird things on stamps that people in those states never saw and never used! Many people look down on them as taking advantage of gullible collectors, and few people consider them to have any value at all, but I find the weird philatelic history of the Trucial States very interesting. If you have any "Manama (Dependency of Ajman)", understand that Manama is a tiny village with a post office. The UAE declared most of these stamps as illegimate and/or illegal in the early 70s.
Very Very interesting. Thank you Kai!
Wow!! Really love your collection
Thanks Sam!
cool stamps
+dont bother reading my user Thanks!
Love y our stamp collection you have some very cool ones.
Thanks Barbara!
What an awesome collection! When i was a teenager i was collecting ( among other things ) toys from kinder eggs ( quality of toys was much better in 90s they were handpainted as far as I remember, and quite expensive so most of my collection was given to me by my godmother, there were whole sets of figures, i had them like on a two smaller shelves), also i remember collecting postcards, my friends and family were contributing to my collection quite often so when I was eleven I had almost three hundred postcards and oldest one was from 1920s, postcards from socialist era were most interesting to me, since they had a lots of details. Sad thing is that everything got lost when we were moving to a new house and probably ended up in trash :/ . Now Im more into old photos, lp records, books, vintage jewellery and clothes. I think its great that you have so much stuff from your childhood :) thanks for sharing with us
+ana rainbow Thanks ana! I actually just got my first two Kinder eggs for Christmas this year! I haven't eaten them yet, but I am going to very soon! The 300 postcards sound amazing, it's sad you lost them! It sounds like you are into some great stuff now!
In Holland you can order personalized stamps that you can legally use.
Great video and collection Paul!
+Patrick Dietz Thanks Patrick!
Cool video! Love your spirit for collecting!
+NostalgiaVHS Thank you!
by the way, at 3.45 the stamp shape is a parallelogram not a trapezium
+dddeeevvvx You are right, what was I thinking? Well, I did almost fail geometry, so...
Dude, you are amazing. I frequently say Holy $hit while watching your vids because you kept everything. You are a virtual time capsule.
+The Vloginsons Thanks! I'm really just only a man...
sweet collection bud!
+Eric J. Montoya Thanks Eric!
I LOVE YOU GRUG.
Great collection made even greater by your funny commentary and observations :) You've got trillions of collections :D
+creamofcardstv Thanks! Going through the stamps really made me want to collect more stamps! That's one collection that I really haven't added to in a very long time!
great information and cool video love your stamp collection storyline
Wow Paul! Thanks soooo much for "post" ing! Haha! (Groans from audience) You and I and my best friend (who I will share this vid with) would have had a blast sortin through the thousands of stamps from Um-Al-Quian. Yes, they were the smallest ever! And how about those stamp hinges? Did you use those to affix stamps in your albums? My friend and I used to spend glorious hours pouring through and trading stamps, even doing "soaks" to get stamps off of paper backing!🌞
+MENT ACLE We used to get whole sheets of those tiny stamps in the mail! I did use the stamp hinges, have plenty of those left! Did all the soaking, too! Had them all lined up on my mom's counter, drying!
almost at 6,000!
+Devon Klee I just hit 6,000! But I am not going to celebrate yet. I am about to upload a video and every time that I do, I lose about a half dozen subscribers. So I will no doubt be back below 6,000 by tomorrow!
I adore collecting different country stamps,I have stamps from Algeria-Zambia how ever I am still missing alot of nations. I might try to track down a stamp from each country but that take a while
Very cool!
This brought back some memories! I collected stamps when I was a young lad. I remember free stamps in boxes of cereal. Top video mate!
Glad you liked it Paul!
For the first time, I'm sharing a Weird Paul video with my dad!
+MacbthPSW OK now that's COOL. I mean, it is, right?
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Very cool! I emailed him the link and he wrote back: "I LIKE this! & it's very appropriate 2day as I just got home..." and went on to explain how he had just gone over to someone else's house today to look at their stamp & coin collection.
Good collection
Thank you.
Can I get stamps if any u have extra
Awesome!!!!😎😎
I have met only one stamp collector in my life so far,He is a teacher who worked at my highschool as a substitute he taught in Nigeria and Cameroon
Wow, that's pretty cool
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Yea he is originally from the Phillipines
Gotta love how one of the stamps in thumbnail is from Poland sense you have Polish Descent
I made sure to get that in there!
Hehe Polish Love
I love the fact that even without the video camera your kid mind still went ahead and recorded on audio tape haha I would dare say you invented vlogs!
I'm just so glad that my dad bought audio and video recorders. Not everyone had them as early as I did!
I have always loved postage...It's a fascinating collection, as are all you share ! thanks Weird Paul! Did you ever have a pen pal from another country or state? school promoted that in the 80's.
+stephanie benesch I feel like I might have, but I just can't remember...one of these days I'll go through my box of letters from when I was a kid and see if there's anything...
the stamps you have there at 02:15 (you probably know) are truly from italy even if the "country" issuing them was the repubblica sociale italiana, a government in the north of italy formed by the fascists friends and mussolini that were losing the war. basically they had "fled" in that area hoping to resume the fate of fascism again. slowly the allied troops were advancing from the south and the repubblica sociale italiana was losing territory. it started as half the country and it became smaller and smaller. it didnt last long, only 2 years.(the whole history of the repubblica sociale italiana where your stamps are from). . as you can see stamp collecting is so interesting because it puts facts, curiosities, geography and history together
+Luca Toscani Interesting! Well, I always have said that I have learned so much about things from what I collect. Stamps, film books, etc have taught me a lot about the history of the world!
Great video... I have quite a substantial collection myself that I'm still adding to. More nerd videos please :-)
+Allotment Grow How Thanks! I am really in the mood to collect more stamps after making this video!
wish I had the monster stamps
+Travis Greer You can actually get them on Amazon for less than $15: www.amazon.com/Classic-Movie-Monsters-Collectible-Stamp/dp/B0010KUZ18
Thank you for this
Just awesome man.. Just awesome. Do you still collect?
+A. E-Mann Thanks! I still save the stamps off of my mail, but I haven't bought any stamps in a long time. Making this video got me all excited about buying some again!
I have a small stamp collection . I remember getting these otherwise nice stamps picturing a plane BUT they were misprinted upside down . Since they obviously were never going to even be used for mailing a letter, I must have thrown them away ... * LoL
I Love Your video 😛😝
Thanks Lucinda!
I had a stamp collecting phase but nothing compared to yours. Trish
+Trish Mullins For me, it was a need to fill in all those empty spaces in the albums!
What do you think of collecting sheets of stamps? I recently bought those new commemorative Star Trek stamps (I'm a fan) and love the way they all look together. Now I wouldn't mind collecting other sheets. As a casual hobby.
My girlfriend just bought that sheet of Star Trek stamps, too. Buying sheets is great, it's just more expensive. I can't afford a whole sheet.
Yeah, I'd probably buy a sheet like every 3 or 4 months out of the year. Like I said, this would just be a casual hobby for me. Something to do every now and then, and not go all overboard with it.
Yeah, that sounds good.
Just got the Pluto-Explored! sheet. Really nice. Only a buck .88. Not bad.
Great price!
Hi Paul,
Sorry it took me forever to subscribe...I've known about you since finding you on Cozi TV here in the 'Burgh. I had the DVR set since Christmas, now your gone from Cozi TV...what happened? Oh well, glad I found you here, thanks for all your great vids, both old and new! Keep 'em coming.
Dan
+Dan Aniszewski Hi Dan! Thanks for subscribing, I am closing in on 6000 subscribers so I appreciate it! The first season of the show aired from June until December. We aired all 13 episodes twice, plus some specials. We don't want to keep repeating them, but hopefully we will be back soon with season 2. In the meantime, there'll be plenty more videos here on UA-cam!
Can you use unused stamps as legal tender in the US? You can over here, but I've never seen anyone do that.
+Larry Bundy Jr I've never seen anything like that over here. I had no idea it was a thing over the river. That is pretty neat.
+Larry Bundy Jr Apparently, they did do this during our civil war in the 1860s. I guess it was repealed after that?
ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL
Ah wow, Maybe that was a throwback from the British days.
I can see it makes sense to be able to use them as tender, but stamps are more useful as stamps. You can never find one when you need to post a letter! :D
Fallen Ishvalen
Oh yeah, there's even a joke about it in The Office.
Bart Simpson: Stamp! Collection!
AH! HA!
DIRTY BACKGROUND SPOIL THE MOOD
Totally unrelated to this video, but you have 30 more subs until 6,000!
+Blue Wolves Woohoo! I am going to really love that moment when I hit 6,000. Then - 10,000 here I come!
I really enjoyed the video! I subscribed :)
+Magi AJ Thank you for subscribing! I hope you enjoy my channel!
Cool stamp collection. Have you ever collected coins as a kid? I did and I still have them. I have coins from all over the world. If you have a coin collection plz make a video.
I did collect coins, but only ones from the US. Like I'd try to get a penny from every year. I still have some old US coins, but nothing spectacular.
Hi! Do you have a new stamps? I have not seen a new video for a long time since I was working on improving my own account Figy Museum and my personal.
I laughed at the Danzig joke and then we got booed. lol Bummer.
I wish we had triangle shaped stamps. I'm a girl who likes to send hand written snail mail still.
I still use stamps from the 40's & 50's. You can find them on Ebay sometimes less than face value. I have a really racked up 1981ish album. You can be on a stamp. Shrooms. AHAHAHA
+Henry S I got some of those 40's &50's stamps you use! It's strange that I never even thought to look at stamps on ebay, I was amazed to see how many there are! I just came into possession of an old, mildewy stamp album that needs to sit out in the sun before I can smell it.
And last night at Goodwill,I found a stuffed Hot Tamale Kid doll. His neck was restitched and he was stained. He was mail in Offer 1974 from the candy costing $1.35 + POP proof of purch.
Amazing!
whatever happened to McGruff the crime dog???
He's still out there, now on social media! Here's the McGruff Facebook page for example: facebook.com/mcgruffstuff
I feel like the only person who collects stamps where I live,Sadly my towns local coin/dealer got in trouble and was forced to shut down
Plus I am more of a world stamp collector also I am too nervous to ask
Man, was he dealing in counterfeits or what
No he delt with tax problems www.justice.gov/usao-edca/pr/bakersfield-business-owner-pleads-guilty-structuring-over-1-million-bank-deposits
yes Danzig has his own country. ......its his ego.....; )
+vinniegiovanni LOL
I still have my stamp album that I purchased through one of those book club flyers they distributed in school. I have a bunch of those old 2 cent stamps as well. They're really cool.
+Yaoi Pervette Remember those book flyers, wow. I was always bugging my mom to buy me those books, but I didn't get them. Very cool that you still have that album.

I find it really cool,To share what filming on a camuria was like in the 80s
Thank you!
do you buy stamp collections??
if anyone wish to buy post stamps please email dia.kamil@hotmail.com
wow
ORIGINAL BLOGGER senpai how old are these videos?
+Nishiki_ FE This one and the other ones of older me are filmed now in 2014-2016. The ones where I am a teenager were filmed 30 years ago.
+ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Why they look so old then:o?
Probably because I film them with a 90s video camera onto VHS tape. I do not own a digital camera.
+ORIGINAL VLOGGER 80'S WEIRD PAUL Ohhhh duuhhh...
I Love Your video, congratulations Paul you did a great job!!!!☺😊
I still get bummed when I see no stamps on letters these days,They always have those "Posted Paided" letters
Yeah and also I liked stamps better before when they weren't like stickers. Back when you had to lick them!
Hey paul quick question where's the best place to get collector stamps on approval to be viewed and keep the ones you want and send the rest back...I've been searching and no luck...plz help your smart
Gee, I don't know what places do that nowadays. Back in the 80s there were SO many places, but there doesn't seem to be many now.
I just dug out my old collection and am getting back into stamp collecting again! The big one in the US is Mystic Stamp Company (mysticstamp.com). I started in the 80's as a kid with their approvals, they have a ginormous catalog of US and world stamps, and you can choose "World" or USA stamps for the approval service. They will send you approvals if you make any purchase at all from them, or you can send for their free USA catalog and they will send you a starter set of approvals with it. They will send you a lot of mail offers once they have your address, so be prepared for that! I know they ship the catalog free to USA addresses only. If you are outside the US you might need to contact them to ask about approvals, but you can still order from their catalog. When I was a kid I used a couple other approval services that are no longer in business, but Mystic is still a favorite. I saw a couple other companies still doing approvals- Kenmore Stamp Co (kenmorestamp.com), Wilton Stamp Co (wiltonstamp.com), and Continental Philatelics (www.conphilinc.com) so far look pretty decent but I haven't ordered anything from them yet. You might have to look around to find their approval service but if you can't they will have a contact form where you can ask about it. I'm sure you can find more if you do a google search. All these companies are in the US, I'm sure there are more in other countries but you would have to do a search to find them. Good luck!
From where you buy these stamp
The internet mostly. Stuff for stamp collectors in "brick and mortar" shops is extremely rare these days. If you are lucky you might be able to find some at a garage or estate sale locally. Do a Google search for "stamp collecting company" for larger, internet shops and maybe "stamp dealers" to find dealers near you. Also try auction sites- Ebay and HipStamp are good if you want something specific and Ebay has lots of large, unsorted stamp lots for sale, both on and off-paper. HipStamp is a bit more expensive and more for experienced collectors. I've even seen stamp lots for sale on Amazon. One local shop here in my town, Hobby Lobby, had a tiny section of their store for stamp collecting, with a couple of cheap stamp "grab bags" for beginners from old reliable H.E.Harris Stamp Company- they mostly sell albums and books now though. Unfortunately most places don't use stamps anymore, so the best way to get them is on the internet, and especially by "approval" service. Mystic Stamp Company in the USA is one of the biggest that still does approvals.
I love stamps I collect them 2 , my sister did the same to copy it made me 👎👎👎🙏 MAD!!! I still collect them tho she ripped her stamps in a fit lol 🤤🤤🤤
Paul, I hope you are ashamed for even coming up with that Glenn Donzig joke. Cool stamp collection tho.
+Fallen Ishvalen I think my shame was very evident in the following sequence!
At 3:23 a stamp of a country that does not exist!
Don't to bad for amateur collected you have to keeping going for 20 years more to see some profit I beginning to collecting since I was 12 years old and in several occasions losses my collection for my parents moved to other places never the less I begin again to collecting for real mind real investment from the new value stamps (for ever) to be sure to get some money back guarantee in the future in my other hand I been collected the three way U.S. used stamps full album, and U.S. unused stamps and my other 3 way International old stamps started by XVIII century England and African colony that is where the real money are. plus all 240 country because this hobby don't have any ending every years been printed several trillions. If anything, I would say they run a little big.
you could make a fortune if you find the right one
