- For those of you who don't know (and if you don't, shame on you, you're not a TRUE BIBO fan), Blood In Blood Out filmed all of it's prison scenes in an actual working, running, active prison - San Quentin.
All of the "extras" in the prison scenes, from the guards, to the inmates, were all real guards and prisoners, actively working or doing time during the film. Popeye and Magic recount some of their crazier experiences while filming on location. Cruzito's account isn't included, because as we all know, he didn't go to San Quentin. But, this is an interesting take on what the actors had to go through to film in an active prison.
From Magic almost dying in real life, to seeing an actual shanking while filming.... these guys give us the scoop on what life was like, behind bars.
Really great stories and I hope yall get a kick out of it. I thought it might be a good addition to the last video.

They have different levels for witch programs you can qualify for
Most is for first time non violent offenders
If you want really want to change in prison you can do that now in Quentin
Why would you not do that
The inmates should be getting perks
These guys had to qualify to audition and can't get paid even sag minimum

Such a powerful film u could see how real that film was that's one of the best films i have ever seen .American me was very real except for a few parts where Edward olmos gets raped by a prisoner which caused a Lot of friction but blood om blood out showed real mexican culture which really made me appreciate mexican people ..2 of the best films i have seen
Yeah...he got alot of heat from La Eme for that shit. It wasn't true and not appreciated, to say the least.
BIBO is, in my opinion, light years better than American Me.
It was actually filmed in an active, running, real prison..with NO EXTRAS...those people in the film...are ALL real inmates and guards. Even the Warden in the movie, Daniel Vasquez, was the actual warden for.San Quentin at that time. He read the script and said, " whoever wrote this knows what he's talking about". Cuz the writer, Jimmy Baca, actually did time there before he wrote the script. So he knew. He's also in the film..as one of the council member of Onda.
Aside from these reasons, I think BIBO is just more authentic..it's more real life. The characters..we can all put ourselves in their shoes. They are real people, and u.can feel the characters.
Anyway..I'm sure u knew most all this already. Maybe some haven't heard.
