A lot of black kids grew up watching this too! We love this movie and culture
THAT'S THE POINT OF THIS MOVIE!! WE should all immerse on everybody's culture because it's human culture. We can't continue on the path to destruction.
the same way you feel about this movie it’s how we feel about boyz in da hood & menace 2 society 😎
@@alejandrosool all of those movies are absolute classics

@@ogsloppnbiscuiitz1108 WHEN HE DELIVERED THAT LINE!!! Amazing cast!
I feel like the only reason why a lot of people love this movie till this day (mainly California residents) was because we were raised just like those characters. Grew up in a gang infested area & as we got older we all choose our paths. Some stayed in the gangs, some choose the right direction but at the end of the day, we’ll never forget where we came from. The bond & the love the hood will always be in us & make us who we are. Loyalty above all odds
Exactly we all got the same story .. this is a classic in Phoenix as well
Exactly. Born & raised in socal & you got 2 paths to take. Go to school & be something or follow the same ghetto life & bang hard. Family is the main cause of gang initiation bcus u get comfortable being with the homies & the “norm” of everyday life

I am a 62 yo black man. I first saw this movie on VHS, and now of course have it on DVD. One of my favorite movies. It was so well written and acted, without big names being involved. Anyone who watches it once, has to watch it 100 more times. 👊🏽
"For cheap times!!!" Hahaha 😂
What's a DVD? IS it digital or cloud like Netflix?
This movie literally helped fuel the Mexican on Black hate.
Its on disney now
@@donelkingii3738I respectfully disagree
We need the five hour version on Netflix as a mini!!
Berner has the money to buy out that 5 hour BIBO film from Disney.

This movie resonated with every Coloured person in South Africa. Every Coloured Hood in South Africa gravitated to this movie cause Coloured South Africans see themselves in Mexican Chicano culture. Mad props Berner for this 💯💯👌🏿👌🏿🔥🔥🙏🏾🙏🏾
Wow really? That's crazy! Never would have thought this movie reached that far!! This was a family staple here in California growing up.
Wow, that’s awesome! Thanks for sharing. 🙌🏼💯😎
THAT'S THE POINT OF THIS MOVIE!! WE should all immerse on everybody's culture because it's human culture. We can't continue on the path to destruction.
@@DaaYaycoloured people like the Mexican's in California are the real natives. In South Africa coloured people stem from the Bushmen tribes. So non black first nation of Southern Africa, the Bantu black people came later with the great migration, and like the Mexican's were often forgotten and just do our own thing, work hard and don't complain.
I always wanted there to be longer scenes with Paco as El Gallo Negro. I don't think we saw enough of the real cholo that everyone looked up to before he went to the military. Also, I need that 5 hour unreleased movie and it needs to have behind the scenes with bloopers and everything. I’d pay for it right now. ORALE VATO LOCOS FOREVER HOLMES!
I agree 100% not enough of him
I'd pay lots of money to watch the 5 hour unreleased movie too.

I grew up in sweden and my parents came to sweden in -73 imigrants from Chile. As a forigner I was bullied as hell not accepted by the community or swedish people. First time I saw this film was -94 or -95 on vhs. Even tough I have never experienced Chicano life or the streets, this film made a huge impact on me, I can realte to the brootherhood in the movie, this burning feeling of belonging to somthing, to be apart of something bigger. Yo big respect for this session. I'm Filipino, grew up in the Frisco and moved back to the Philippines, but man, Blood In, Blood Out has got to be such an iconic movie for me growing up. The film is so relatable that it knows no bounds, I wasn't in any gangs but grew up and saw enough that I related to the movie. If it gets a sequel; that'd be awesome but if not still all good. At least we got this.
I've never seen the whole thing but my weed guy was Latino and he watched it almost everyday

44 yo white boy. This has been one of if not my favorite movies of all times. Saw it early 90s maybe for the first time. It's magical. I wish I could see the 4-5 hour cut.
I know berner is so all over the place with these moves , but man id love too have Berner do interviews like this with legendary people . Berner is such a vibe
Big Bern Take care of these guys right here with all that you have going on. They showed you a lot of love and respect. This was amazing to see maybe some sort of a film you guys colab in the near future. !
They treated him like family. Like when you see a cousin you have not seen in a long time or something.
Blood In, Blood Out was released when I was still gang banging and caught up in the life. Seeing Paco become a Marine is what inspired me to say "yes" when a judge gave me the join or go to jail option. This movie spoke to so many homeboys in the barrio and it still does to this day. It was great hearing all the behind the scenes stories, especially about the resourcefulness of the inmates at Q. It sucks to hear this movies was "sanitized" for FX when Mayans MC (ALSO on FX) was allowed to drop F-bombs like crazy!
I’ll just say that the reason that this movie always struck a nerve with me and felt so personal is because that’s literally where my family comes from. My family comes from the Loma Bakers neighborhood in Bakersfield, a city that feels more like Texas than it does California. My mother and Tia were smart enough to leave the neighborhood when I was 6 years old, but I still remember a lot. Visiting my Tio Danny (RIP) in prisons and hearing all of the crazy stories they would tell that were literally portrayed in this movie. Watching my other Tio Vincente (RIP) kill himself through heroin addiction. Watching gang rumbles, stabbing and shootings happen in Jefferson Park and having to hold my older sisters hand tightly as we both put our heads down and ran home as fast as we could.
Like I said, I was lucky enough to have a smart mother and Tia who raised me and escaped that hellhole. I eventually found solace in the character of Paco Aguilar. I myself ended up running the streets from 11 to 17 until I was forced to join the military and make something of myself. I’m glad I did, because I could have been less fortunate like some of the other examples in my life and those outlined in the movie. This movie is an important milestone for Latinos, and specifically Chicanos in California. God bless us all.
Ayy we still out here in Bakersfield 😂
Shout out berner 🇲🇽 💪and the blood in blood out cast. This Pod was 🔥
I was literally just watching this iconic film last night.. this is legendary fr 🇲🇽💪🏼🎥

There is a part 2 lol.
Blood in blood out will always be a classic but some things just need to be left alone. There’s no need for a sequel.
The mural during the opening title was 1 block from where my dad grew up. He grew up in the house on the corner of dozier and hazard. My mom has photos of the mural that was there before that. My dad was an east LA original born in 1939. I took him back to his childhood home and neighborhood this past summer. The last movie we watched together was blood in blood out. He saw it before years ago but didn't remember it. His memory was getting shaky while he was battling cancer. He loved it. He cried a few times because some of that was his story. Brought so many memories back to him. He passed away on October 15, 2023. I miss you so damn much pop. Gilbert Cano November 20, 1939 - October 15, 2023.
Blood in Blood Out. I was a teenager when I saw it. Quoted scenes so many times. I have seen all of the guys in many films. It would’ve been cool to see the rest of the crew in this vid. I did watch the reunion which was also cool. It would be awesome to see all of them in a post film series, all of their lives after Blood in Blood Out as mentioned earlier in the vid. At my job we always talk about the movie, characters, and reiterate lines. Job well done with this. Make it happen vatos! Vatos locos forever!
Foo, a part two would be a fulfilling nostalgic experience
That would be tough to follow the original
I'm a white male from South Florida in my late 40's. I have seen Bound by Honor more than 25 times and own the DVD. Love it and the culture. 🙏

Blood In Blood Out was meant to be taken seriously but whoever wrote the script turned it into one of the funniest comedies of all time. That movie has some of the best one liners of all time.
I believe i remember watching an interview i think the director was a white dude and he grew up with Mexicans in the hood and he said he wanted to add that comedic relief factor because he knows us as “Chicanos” or Mexicans in general always joke around and have funny things to say, even in dark times or even the “toughest” looking vatos have a sense of humor.
