Great info, I would add though, folks who are at the end of their OPT + STEM extensions, generally have their F1 expiring in a few months (because for a masters the approval is generally for 5 years). In that case, visa renewal in India on Day 1 CPT can still result in a RFE, especially if the degree or the program you opted for Day 1 CPT doesn't show a natural progression in studies (for example if you are doing a second masters in Computer science v/s if you are doing something that shows career progression, like an MBA). The problem with doing management courses also lies in the fact that your job then has to be management related. Considering all these factors Day 1 CPT might become risky for you if you want to see your family because you might get stuck in India on a RFE and in the worst case, have your visa rejected. Also note that F1 visa stamps contain your school on them, so if you don't have the current school on your unexpired visa stamp and the immigration officer at the border happens to catch that, they can deny entry into the US upon return.

Day 1cpt thoda aand hai but courses ka assignments ho jata hai agar din ka 1 ghanta daal roj toh. Onto the next lottery.

I doubt it. But can't you get EB2 NIW or EB1 for Phd?
