That’s pretty much all of Sigma’s lore. That he was a scientist, was obsessed with black holes, had his mind split apart by one blah blah blah. That is literally it. Don’t get me wrong, Sigma’s lore is great and all, but slightly overrated imo. Ramattra has a much more in-depth lore and more character development. We know Ramattra’s history, his past present and future, what led him down the path in which he is now. Sigma on the other hand? Not so much. He’s a constant. He barely has any character development aside from Moira’s experiments apparently worsening his mental state, and even that is rather weak for character development, if it could even be considered that in the first place.

There is no denying that Sigma’s lore is interesting, but him just being a powerful individual with a split personality does not make his lore astronomically good or ‘the best one in the game’, it just doesn’t.

Although I will say sigma as a character presents us with a lot more questions and answers about how the world of overwatch works. He has spoken to the Iris, hears a melody that has to do with the universe, and got gravity manipulation powers from just understanding this world to begin with. That’s pretty cool, as it hints at OW taking place in a universe much more fantastical than ours, and beyond that, Sigma also extremely sympathetic, not in his motivations, but as a character. Seeing him slipping and seeing how the different characters interact with him, it’s really a great way to characterize others. I would’ve never guessed that sombra who takes advantage of everyone else would be kind and caring to him.

True story, I'm a veteran, and I've been struggling with mental health issues for a long time. I quoted Ramattra once when my older brother, who is also a veteran, asked me what was wrong. His exact question was, "Hey, little bro, are you doing okay? I've noticed you've been pretty down recently." You can imagine my response. He recognized it, and we finished the full interaction. It made me smile that day.

I think out of all the characters in Overwatch I like Rammatra the most as a character. I think he is written marvelously. Voice acted perfectly. And right now is pretty damn good in game
Ramatrra has always been my favorite character not because of the classic oh hes edgy. No. His story is amazing. Actual emotional growth and being the few characters to actually go through with his actions speaks volumes
I think the most profound interaction is between him and Genji, he questions why and Genji responds with both of them are undeserving of Zen's patience, I know the interaction ends there but I feel like as much as Remmattra hates the idea of Genji, he can't deny he has a point. Equal parts humility for both of them
It's because of some of these interactions that I hate eliminating him as Illari only to hear her self-pitying personality ask him "What do YOU know about pain?!"

Not really depressing but I do like his Pharah interactions. The armor one was really well written and I liked how he got defensive when she was probably just trolling him a bit. But it loops back to their first interaction in the video where he talks about people assuming stuff about him/Omincs. Very cool stuff.
His first interaction with Zen is my favorite. It shows how he knows that that omnics are going extinct, somehow content with their lives and that they follow human orders. The line “I’ve learned that too few look up at all” can mean that he knows how omnics don’t have free will and don’t question their lives.
It’s easy for writers to vilify revolutionary characters as being hateful, and vengeful. Rammatra has only ever come across to me as genuine and realistic, however.

Before it was fully quarantined, it gave all the Omnics full sentience If Helix (the company Pharah works for) destroyed Anubis, there wouldn't have been an Omnic Crisis. Which means the world wouldn't fear Omnics, and Rammatra's friends would still be alive
Rammatra may be the leader of NULL SECTOR , and his ways of going about bringing peace to the omnics might not be the best.. but somone has to fight for them and he is the first in line.
Rammatra is the embodiment of “If you wish for peace, be ready for a war.”

Anubis was an AI that went rogue and took over all the Omnics, sparking the first Omnic Crisis. Before it was fully quarantined, it gave all the Omnics full sentience
If Helix (the company Pharah works for) destroyed Anubis, there wouldn't have been an Omnic Crisis. Which means the world wouldn't fear Omnics, and Rammatra's friends would still be alive
Rammatra may be the leader of NULL SECTOR , and his ways of going about bringing peace to the omnics might not be the best.. but somone has to fight for them and he is the first in line.
I find it wierd that Ramattra talking to Genji about Zen like hes died if only blizard did not lay off almost every singel empoloy
