    Thanks so much! Everyone else on UA-cam wanted to put high fat ingredients in it.

    Great recipe for Thanksgiving. This would be fun to try using a bag of day-old bagels from EWT

      I did not know that was a thing, I will have to look for those next time I am at Ellwoods

    I bought a baguette and let it sit in the pantry for couple days before I cut it for the pudding. It was so hard I could barely cut it. Next time I will cut it when it’s fresh and let it dry out after that.

    • @PlantBasedGabriel
      @PlantBasedGabriel  5 років тому

      Yes, thats a good idea. I normally leave mine out for just a day and then cut it up.

    I just finished making your PB Bread Pudding. It's so good that I feel guilty eating it! (My baguette was kinda extra long so I have a lot of crunchy goodness on top of the gooey deliciousness on the bottom. But next time I won't use the entire baguette)

    This looks great! My partner used to love Bread Pudding in his pre-vegan life, but he has a bit of a mental aversion to 'soggy' bread. Is the texture of this the same as non-vegan cakey bread pudding, or is it more 'soggy'? Strange question, I know, but I really want to make this 😁 Thanks Gabriel for the inspiring videos, you're fab ✌

    • @PlantBasedGabriel

      This one definitely is more of the "soggy" type (my favorite). One thing you can do is toast the bread (250 F 25-30 mins) before making this and that will give a different texture.

      Toast the bread 1st that will help Also you might try adding some Chia seeds or A dried fruit such as raisins or cranberries to soak up some of the juice You're basically just trying to make a dryer version

      Fab, thank you for the tip! He likes it crunchy and I like it soggy so looks like I'm making two 😉 Thank you for taking the time to reply Gabriel, have a great day ✌

      The thing with bread pudding is you need to let it cool down for at least an hour after taking it out of the oven so it can firm up/solidify. You can also let it sit in the fridge overnight to get it ideal for the next day.

    Have you ever tried it with a few raisens or a grated Apple?

    • @PlantBasedGabriel
      @PlantBasedGabriel  5 років тому

      I haven't but I know some others have already made it including raisins or apples and really liked it.

    Just use whole fat coconut milk

    • @PlantBasedGabriel
      @PlantBasedGabriel  5 років тому

      For my personal diet I try to keep the fat content low, but coconut milk would work great for this recipe too.

    Where were you able to find a whole wheat oil free vegan baguette?! I have found oil free vegan baguettes but never whole wheat ones.
