My first car was a $500 2008 S40 2.4i with a 5 speed. Car had 201,000 miles on it with a bad O2 sensor and broken TPMS sensors and no AC. Drove it for another 40k miles before the engine developed rod knock but man I loved that thing. The NA 5 cylinder had such a unique sound to it. Uncles boss was very wealthy and was gonna junk it but figured he could sell it to a young guy for his first car. Sold it to me for the junk price will never forget that thing!

I used to drive my 2005 SRT-4 in Ohio snow on its factory BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW *SUMMER ONLY* tires. And when I say used to, I mean I did precisely once. Even just crawling along at like 5MPH, it would slide to the right due to the drainage angle of the roadways. Taking off with no throttle would spin them, looking at the break pedal would lock them. I'd always just had all seasons before that car, and all seasons were challenging in the snow on sport compact cars, but doable. That first snow in the SRT-4 was when I learned that summer tires REALLY mean summer tires. I got some new rims and threw on some thicker walled snow tires, and it became fun in the snow.

Sick car. The sunroofs don't really have a leaking issue, but the drains are super small, and cars that are parked outside risk them being clogged. It requires yearly cleaning (or more).
P3 cars have a slightly better system with larger drain holes and you can check both sides of the drain tubes from within the car.

Some people will say the 850s aren't real Volvos because they aren't RWD, and i get it, i would've preferred RWD too, but take it from someone who still dailies a 2.5 NA 850 and grew up with a dad who owned (And still owns. He's had it since 03 or 04) an 850 R wagon, they are definitely still Volvos. They still have that Volvo reliability and spacious interior (even if slightly less spacious than its RWD counterparts) and they honestly work pretty well for our scandinavian winters. My grandparents had two 240s when i was younger, one being loaded with options, the other an ex police car, so i have had the chance to experience the older cars for reference.

Part of what I love so much about Tedward's drives (besides the obvious cool cars and awesome commentary) are the roads and places here goes are all the same roads I've grown up on! Like the top floor of that garage is where I used to park as a commuter back in college, Lowell was always the closest city when my friends and I hung out, and all the drives up along Rt. 2 and stuff in the other videos just feel like home!
When I take short trips down 27 and 225 into places like Concord and Carlisle and Acton, I can always envision myself behind the wheel of whatever he's driving and feel what he's saying about the dynamics or sounds or minute details of the drive
This little thing looked like a blast!

Running studded Nokian tyres (from Finland) on my Volvo V70 with the NA 2.4L 5-cyl and a 5-spd manual. That thing with those tyres is no problemo in the snow and on ice here in Sweden :) It's funny hearing Americans say things like "I think I need an AWD SUV because we get some snow up here" when people in Northern Sweden are running FWD and RWD cars in heavy snow and doing so fine because they have winter tyres and know how to drive in the snow. Experience and good tyres make a much bigger difference than AWD vs FWD on shitty summer or year-round tyres without the experience.

I drive a 2014 Malibu LS with a 2.5L4cyl that makes around 200hp/tq. Thought I’d be okay with all seasons.
Drove in Duluth MN and was fine. Yet I go back to freakin Nebraska during a snowstorm and have to start the thing in second gear to accelerate at all. Nothing fun about this weather :(
