- Let's add some sweetness in the series. The next video features some moments caught on camera where Kanami and Saiki performed some BAND-MAID songs on piano.
Kanami's recordings are from her Instagram and the short one with Saiki is from a chat they had on Zoom in 2020.

I think alot of fans would love to see a piano duo of Kanami and Saiki doing something like DAYDREAMING at a live performance. I know I would.
Given the normal expanding of repertoire, I have no doubt that will happen in the future. Just hope it's on the 25th of October 😁🤞. Miku and Kanami on acoustic with Saiki on piano doing Anemone...Alls well in the world

Seems like those songs were written on the piano, then left hand was arranged for Miku and the right hand arranged for Mincho. Mincho is a genius composer, and pretty damn good on the piano as well. We know that Saiki has also gotten pretty darn good at the piano, and her voice is really strong, gentle, powerful and emotional, sometimes all at once. Thank you Ohrenje, greetings from Norway 🙂
Kanami has a talent that could have easily gotten her a remarkable career on her own. But thank fate or whatever you believe that she and Miku found each other.
You can tell from Kanami's piano arrangements just how much effort she puts into things like shaping lines, textures, inner voicing, dynamics, etc. And all of that shows up in her full-band composition and guitar playing. THANK YOU for the comp!
I've said this before, but her talent is really understanding music as both a technicality and as an art. That's why her compositions are so good.

The sheer depth of Kanami's musical talent is just astounding. Her arrangements are just so tight and precise it is almost perfection. Musical talent-wise, I would have to compare her favorably to Brian Wilson in the way she effortlessly can take several disparate ingredients and turn it into something beautiful to listen to. For me, Onset just blows me away I listen to it. I haven't heard such a great instrumental performance in close to 60 years.

Hard work pays off, which is kind of a theme for the band really. If you newish to Japanese female rock bands check out Stereopony (they have disbanded) but most the music was composed by Aimi the lead singer and she wrote all the lyrics they have a lot of uplifting songs

I would buy the crap out of a full piano rendition album from Kanami! These songs are so good on a piano!
The Zoom shot at the end says it all, with the four of them watching Saiki's performance. Each of them in their own way, seems to be willing her, support and encouragement. This is what makes this group of young women so special. Apart from being purveyors of great music and positivity they are exceptional nurturing human beings. Their gift to us all of their music, is all the sweeter, because of its beauty and the love that created it.

Most of Band Maid's song are originally composed on the piano or keyboards. Kanami has an electric piano and a midi keyboard. She has stated in 2 different interviews that she usually starts writing a song on either of those, and rarely starts off with her guitar. The exception is if she comes up with a nice riff while practicing. She'll record the riff and transcribe it to keyboards for her DAW.
All maidiacs have an opinion on a Kanami solo project, since I love the piano intro to Daydreaming(live) I would like to see a EP of Kanami's favorite Band-Maid songs set to the piano, I've expressed this on different pages I follow to not much agreement, so it probably wouldn't sell to well,but I would definitely purchase it,thankyou for the hard work everyone does putting these videos together. 👏
I would buy just about any solo project by Kanami, including your idea. One thing I wonder is for how many of these the piano arrangement came first. YOLO I would guess, but possibly the others too?
Edit: Actually the more I think about it, the more I like your idea. It's one of the only ways Kanami could do a solo project without putting Band-Maid on hold for a long time.

Elegant as always and a great choice in having a talent like Mieux do the intro, I made it all the way through without one moist eye until I saw the look on all the Maids faces, particularly Kanami's as they watched Saiki, sigh a true musical sisterhood, thank you, Viva the Maids peace and love Po 👍🎼🥁🎸🎤🍻

I was listening to some 1990’s grunge today…….. and holy cow….. it sounds like garage band simple power chord after listening to Band-Maid⛩️🤟😀. Also… I would step over your mother to buy a piano orchestra version of Band-Maid

So incredibly beautiful, but it's also quite unfair of Kanami to use the same strategy here as she does with her guitar solos. 😢🙏🏻

Absolutely beautiful. If you are not familiar with the Classic music and this Yolo played along with the Classic piano play list, wouldn't be able to recognize it's written by one of the hard rock band member!
btw, Kanami now become teacher for two? One for guitar and the other for piano?
She played piano a long time before she plays guitar so yeah she was Saiki's teacher here
I won't be surprised to learn that Kanami has, for the past few years ,been freelancing, teaching astrophysics and volleyball and portraiture at one or two universities in Tokyo.................................. !
