Like why is this song never talked about when talking about there best songs. It's way better then Diary of Jane. Its probably my 2nd favorite of there's and my 3rd favorite song of all time. Behind Never To Late and So Cold

This band deserves more recognition. Their music is out of this world, I'm in love with them. And the lyrics to their songs have such meaning

Nothing could stop him. He could run towards the bad guys guns blazing, and not a single damn shot would touch him.
He told us to give him some suppression fire while he charged their defenses.
That's when I saw it. This... aerial vehicle swooped in and bombarded the area. The shots glowed a neon green as they smashed the ground and still they missed him. He never left us behind and if we couldn't walk, he carried us. To this day, we don't know who he was. He was a god... the ultimate warrior.

I listen to this song everytime my mom leaves for work or gets deployed or leaves for the little two week training. She serves in the military. That adds on to why I love her.

which I still find crazy cuz Phobia was one of, if not THE best album they put out to this day.
I'm not saying that soldier's are faultless, I'm saying most are normal people (and thus flawed, and subject to normal human psychological weaknesses), and that the ones making the stupid, inhumane decisions are the Politicians. Blame the root cause, not the symptoms.
Honestly, this song is amazing I can't stop listening to it, it's sad and beautiful in so many ways.

This reminds me of how much my life was affected by my grandpa's suicide. I used to be happy and always smiling. Now I'm just depressed and angry. My girlfriend seems like she's fed up with me being sad all the time but I don't know at this point, I just wish my grandpa was still here.

you know, this song reminds me of my parents, who were both soldiers in the U.S army, my mom may have been the only one to see war as my dad got severly injured. but barely anyone knows the war they were in and im the only one who thanks them for risking their lives for us in the past.
tell them I said thank you for there duty. if no one else will say it I will say it because war is hell and no one should have to go through it. PLEASE tell them I said thank you!

All soldiers, with or without name, deserve the utmost respect once they pass. As a citizen of the greatest nation on earth I thank you for my freedom unknown soldiers.

My Dad's been in the Army for 26 years, and he stayed enlisted because u help more people on the battlefield then sitting behind a desk. Still, we went to a lot of funerals, and he tells me how hard it was, and what it's all about. and hearing this song, you understand that it doesn't matter if you hate the guy beside you, because yah are fighting together for your lives and for your country,
Guys, the song doesn't have any one meaning. It applies to everyone in there own personal way. It brings pain, chills, sadness, hope, hapiness, and peace at the same time. Same goes for every other BB song, but this is the best. Hands down. Helped me through some real tough stuff.

Listening to this again after so many years, after reading up on the lyrics, it definitely hits differently now. such a beautiful song and I wish Benjamin had more fans cause he struggles so much already in life and his music is amazing. I still love listening to this band even in 2022.

Still one my favourite's song
This a tribute to my great grandfather and my great great uncles who served in WWII. My great grandfather served in the Army Air Corps and he flew B-17’s as a squadron leader and a group leader. He was part of the Hell’s Angels 303rd Bombardment Group and he flew 30 combat missions in Europe as being part of the Eighth Air Force. He was awarded the DFC, DSC, Two Bronze Stars. ETO Medal, and the Air Medal. His Brother was on an escort carrier in the Pacific Theater during WWII. His other brother was in the Navy fighting the Japanese as well. RIP Fred F Wilson(My Great Grandfather 1918-2005), RIP Pirl “Pete” Wilson 1922-2006, & RIP Perry Wilson 1922-2008.

Music is a subjective thing and everyone can make their own interpretation, wonderful . But the music was written in the context of Unknown Soldiers, the same one that The tomb of the unknown soldier commemorates. A lot of countries have this monument, here in Canada it’s in Ottawa, in confederation square. It’s still a good song to make your own interpretation of, the lyrics are vague, and I like it this way.
I think your comment would have been 10 times better if you were to remove, "If you aren't, that's you" and, "I'm not here to judge you" - In my world, being Christian isn't synonymous with being nice or good.
This song is so touching, the men and women that do all these things for us. Fighting for us, they deserve to be remembered.

@Silver200916 my dad was in for 22 years. He never regretted it. He's out now working in a veterans center. He was on the first ship to Iraq. The day the twin towers fell I was three. I remember him cursing and crying. In the next couple months he left. I only saw him cry twice after that, once when bin laden died in happiness and again when we went to Arlington to the tomb of the unknowns. Tell your dad he's a hero.
Breaking Benjamin is Still one of my favorites for dark songs. There's just Nothing quite like his music when it comes to dark and aggressive songs.

This song relates to me. Me I never fought in war but I can’t help but think of heroes like Jesus Christ, titanic crew, allied ww2 soldier, Chernobyl fire fighter/liquidators, 9/11 fire fighters. All those heroes and here I am the most un important selfish guy who I feel is a joke compared to heroes like I mentioned. I feel not good enough for anything. I have sins. I dream I can be like those heroes for the noble good cause reason

people that disliked this dont understand the meaning, When u loss a friend in fighting it just breaks u. Ur whole sqaud is ur family to u when u see them die it breaks u more. If u see people who come back from the war....some wont even say anything about it and how many friends were lost to them. Even people they dont like makes a toll on them... so everyone stop haten and just remember the men and women who fought for ur country and ur freedom. this song is such a strong reminder of my favorite character: flippy (HTF) he is a vietnam veteran and when he was in the war he saw his brother die trying to save him. that in turn made him go crazy so now everytime he hears or sees something that reminds him of the war he goes into a killing spree beyond control. he wants to be shown how to dream in black and white...

No man thinks about killing himself more than a combat veteran... I'm a breathing example. It's just nobody trained us to deal with all the bullshit that occurs in the civilian world, emotionally. People don't take the time to come to understand you, they just want you to understand and do for them. It's fucking pathetic and they wonder why PTSD is so invisible.

At the first concert i ever went to, on November 13, 2015 i was so focused on breaking benjamin that whole day, didnt care that shinedown were the headliners. Didnt know about the paris attacks until Ben talked about it onstage and told us all to look at the people next to us and say hi and be there for each other and then played unknown soldier
