@@rumpig845 next winter I will revisit some of these spots when it’s not so brutally hot. Then I can shift some dirt and rake some areas without dying from heat exhaustion 😂 or simply using up my water super quick.

G'Day Andy another good day for you and interesting story with the aluminium bits you been finding, who would of thought the cows were spreading them about. Plus a curse on the scumbags tossing their cans into the farmers fields. I seen 2 videos of cows eating snakes down here in Oz lol. So strange on the geology changing color and holding no gold. Have you ever used hydration tabletsdid you throw an extra container of water in the back of your buggy? Wow 39C it's like 35C down where I 'am mind you not as much humidity you would be copping way up there lol. Stay safe and look forward to seeing more.
@@rodneymiddleton1044 the cows really struggle this time of year and they’ll take extra minerals anyway they find them. Including some grubby nuggets tossed out beer can. We carry hydration tablets and I always have a litre of one of the sports drinks as well. I did put ten litres in the buggy 😂 lesson learnt there haha
that’s crazy how cattle come to somehow consume discarded Aluminium cans, or the remnants of them. We use to give our cattle “salt lick” big chunks of salt. Thanks for the education.

@@wdgreg589 it sounds a lot, but with camp life and other commitments I only get around 15-18 prospecting days a month. I’d like to say I get $1000 everyday, but I don’t haha I actually started the year pretty lean, small gold was as good as it got. So it’s great to be back onto some solid runs. Cheers mate 🙌

Prospecting legend with some great advice, most folks shouldn't discount the experience you can gain doing those hard days and as a newer prospector I've had a couple of great runs but the legwork has to be done too.
I’ve heard two different stories now about the source of aluminium from cows bums. One is the aluminium can story, the second is that the cow licks used to be wrapped in aluminium and the cows ate that. Whichever is true, it’s a pain in the bum when detecting! 🙂😬

Is it worth collecting the dirt from nuggets to pan out, just to do an experiment. I live in Auckland, our nearest Gold is in Mount Te Aroha, dont look up that meaning, How much water are you needing? and seeing the digging ,
@@gregnz1 it would be. But with such a massive hike out to water, it’s hardly worth the lost time for me. But next winter when the conditions are more favourable, I’ll go back to these spots and do some more work.

It was right next to one of the main access roads and people cottoned on pretty quick that something serious was going on 😂😂😂 so we didn’t have the area to ourselves for long haha but we got the lions share.
Have to agree there. Best of luck with your prospecting. Always thought the Palmer was still a good prospect. Especially for diving like the lads in Tasmania who are reaping a lot of leftover alluvial gold.
@@ronaldmansfield.6439 most the creeks and rivers go dry here, so we prospect the guts of them often, plus we have those big lizards kicking around in the big permanent water holes. Because the waterways go dry, in the 80’s they literally bulldozed the river into great big piles and put it all through a trommel. it’s still a great prospect. But not for divers. But there’s other areas up here on the cape that I would choose for diving before here. But I can’t be giving away too many secrets 😂 cheers mate ✌️

A few prospectors have been shot or have disappeared in that area.
