Thanks Andy, This is one of the best prospecting videos. Not just because you got some nice gold, but due to how well you described your equipment and how you chose the spots to fossick. Thanks
What a great premier, Andy. You managed well without a tripod. And not a lot of ground covered to find those 8+grams beauties! Looking forward to Part 2 on the Palmer when you can. Many thanks.
Good one Andrew looks like some of the places I hit here in NSW It certainly helps to do some legwork< I always wrap some cold water in a towel stays cold all day for when I get back to the car lol cheers Glenno.
@@thegoldrushguy I’ll 100% stick to the minelab 6000 with the nugget finder set up. I haven’t seen any other machine out perform it yet, especially in this hot ground where VLF machines struggle to run stable. But I’ve had a few people say the gold hawk goes pretty good. Maybe one day I’ll get one. Cheers for the welcome mate 🙌
Picked a brilliant spot for an afternoon swing 🙌 who wouldn’t be happy with that result 🤩 couldn’t ask for a better start to your new channel 😎 cheers Andy
Welcome to the tube, mate. I'll watch your adventures with great interest. I'm not a detectors bunghole but I'm keen to get one eventually. Thats a fantastic nugget out of the first hole.
So happy you launched this UA-cam adventure. I subbed you soon after realizing who you are. Keep them coming Andy, you’re already a legend. Cheers from Texas!
I love the history attached to the Queensland gold rushes and palmer was 1 of the last good 1s, hope to do some of thos myself soon just saving for my 1st PI detector then do the work.
Alaska here good to see you again covered in snow here. Maybe I will get to bring the old 5000 to Australia soon since I just Retired in good health.keep up the good work. The wife and I like nugget hunting. Hope the Sub helps
Lots of hard work here and I know it will pay off for you! Anyone reading who lives in the southeast US there is still two weeks left to find the $3000 I placed! Follow the clues and grab your some gold!
@@thomasanglin1751 yeah we still prospect together a lot. But we do solo days as well and even when we do project together, we often end up kilometres apart.
@@AndyLeahyDiaryOfAProspector that's great y'all make a good team. Glad to see you branching out away from the show , looking forward to watching some new digs. Good luck to you
G'Day Andy great start to your channel mate and no partner either. Yes I would suggest a go-pro mate they are hands free like a head lamp great inventions lol. Nice afternoon haul mate especially now that gold is now over $4,137 AUD an ounce. Those six & seven thousand detectors are pretty much the top of the detector range and at $10k not your average entry level detectors same with the 5000's. What would you recommend for those just starting out mate and what price range if you don't mind me asking?. Anyways glad your on here and stay safe now.
I used the gpx 5000 for years and found kilos of gold with it. They’re a great machine, stable and reliable. Second hand they’re affordable coming in around the $3-4k range.
I would have a small bowl to put the stuff instead of on the ground if filming, because if you have two hands, you just swipe the hand over the detector and discard, and then then next handful or such.
Jacqui and I still work together, but not everyday. Or even when we do we often end up spreading right out and might not even sight each other all day.
I work with the epm holders and the station owner, I’m also on the board of the diversified mining branch of Palmerville. So I get access to all of the station and even some of the surrounding stations.
Thanks Andy,

Welcome to the UA-cam community Andy. Palmer definitely on my bucket list. The 9” Goldhawk is your best option in that country mate.

Mate , put your phone on the ground or get a tripod for it , you're making me motion sick by holding the phone.
