Why SAMMY HAGAR & DAVID LEE ROTH should NEVER tour together again

  • With the recent news of "The Best Of All Worlds Tour" that will see former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony along with Joe Satriani and Jason Bonham performing a majority of Van Halen songs live next summer, even including some songs from the David Lee Roth-era of VH, it got me thinking about the disastrous and dramatic Heavy Weight Champs of Rock tour in 2002 that saw Hagar and Roth coheadlining, performing their respective eras of VH live. The tour, with an announcement featuring a dwarf dressed as Andy Warhol, the Dahm triplets who were Playboy Playmates at the time, and Howard Stern doing a coin toss live on his radio show to decide who would close the first night of the tour, was doomed from the start and honestly should have probably never happened.

That 2002 tour wasn't really the heated slugfest everybody says it was. Dave was even on Howard Stern a few days after the tour ended saying everybody had a great time. Sam just complained the whole time for the cameras on the VH1 Special and made it into some kinda arm wrestling match. I don't think Dave really cares about competing with Hagar. He knows his music has the legacy and Hagar will have to play at least one of his songs at EVERY show he does. He's even doing more of them on his latest cash grab.

No, Dave has never expressed he thought Sammy's informal semi-invitation on a podcast was about touring together.
It was Sammy and a lot of other stupid people who took that as a fact when a couple of random people communicated that to Sammy in his thread. Sammy then answered in a way that was disrespectful toward Dave.
Dave hadn't communicated anything but a vague -I'm ready to go. Let's do this.
The miscommunication is every simpleton who does not understand what he reads or doesn't check the matter first. It's silly moronic really.

Dave never said anything about touring. Sammy did his usual insults instead of behaving like a grownup and just clarify what he meant. Zero respect for this bullshit "tribute".

Dave was just calling his bluff. You think David Lee Roth would guest on Sammy Hagar's tour? Hahaha. Sam's spent decades talking in circles and finally somebody had the balls to push him into the corner. And predictably, he spattered and backtracked and looked like a total fool. Was likely Dave's intention. And of course, the biggest hype for this Faux "Tribute" tour was Dave POSSIBLY joining.
