If they needed to have a love triangle on screen Steffy Liam and Hope was already going on. Especially after Stephanie's death we could be watching a completely different and interesting show right now. But no, they're still putting Brooke with Ridge, even though with Taylor gone he Still couldn't remain committed to Brooke. At the age the characters are, it long ago would have been appropriate for Ridge to make a final choice, and I feel it would've been Taylor. And had bell jr not ruined the show with that Brooke and Stephanie friends bullshit, there would've been the natural conclusion of being with Taylor. No matter what Brooke did back in the day, for a long time she couldn't pry Ridge from Taylor. And they just would've been a more interesting fit, Taylor being so analytical and Ridge so eclectic. The natural tension yet respect they have for one another, I can say with some confidence, keeps things fresh. Brooke and Ridge are too alike, and therefore their pairing will Realistically (I put emphasis on realistic writing of the characters for a reason) would have them seeking conflicts daily, as we can still see. And their daughters conflicts are too messy and deep not to affect their relationship. So we're stuck watching the same shit they've been writing for years, instead of them breathing life into this show. Brooke could be doing anything with anyone now, maybe someone who would make her the first choice, instead of the hypocritical hoe I can't help but see no matter how hard I try to like her. When you can't write, hv no conception of your parent's legacy, no respect for it, no idea who the characters are, no ability to create a story arc or anything else, this stale boring garbage is the result. Also a creepy and unhealthy obsession with one person: Brooke Logan. I don't think he knows that she isn't real in any sense. He projects his fantasies onto her and writes accordingly. Thus, he has destroyed what his parents created: a stylish, elegant, intelligent, well-written story which we, the audience, looked forward to and loved watching. It's a waste and a sad commentary on how the ineptitude of one person can destroy an empire, weakening it from within until nothing remains.

the choice was between a no name girl from the valley his mother thought was a gold digger and Caroline Spence of the Spencer industries that his mother approved of.he did not say he loved Caroline more than brook and ,brook had to ask him several times to leave,ridge made the smart choice here not the heart choice,am not saying ridge did not love Caroline but that not why he chose her over brook.this was always the difference between brook and ridge,ridge make decision with his head,brook make with his heart.i really miss this ridge though,the present ridge luck the chemistry this two had together.

@@booklover6198 I agree with what you are saying. First of all Stephanie's disapproval was of no consequence of Ridge's choice. He knew his mother did not like Brooke, but he never really cared when he got involved with her, then and later. Ridge loved Caroline before he even met Brooke, Brooke was a substitute and it is perfectly possible to love a substitute then. However never as much as the original. Besides this, Ridge found out Brooke's part in helping Thorne hiding a love letter he wrote for Caroline.
