I remember this storyline very well. Ridge was very curious to know who Brooke's new man was, even since he visited her at the lab and saw her receiving flowers sent by Eric. When Brooke was very sad when she thought Eric had changed his mind about the divorce, Ridge consoled her, even yelling on the phone at Eric to 'leave the lady alone' not knowing it was Eric, saying later he would like to give the new man a piece of his mind. Even when he was happily married to Caroline, Ridge made Brooke's welfare his business.
