Taylor left Ridge telling him to go be with Brooke but Ridge chased her to St Thomas and spent a week persuading her to marry him. Once back he tells Brooke yet again he doesn't want her. Ridge and Taylor get married and despite Brooke's interference and even the belief that Ridge had fathered her baby, Ridge and Taylor stay married until Taylor is thought to have died in a plane crash. So for the life of me I can't see where the rebound comes into it.

When it became clear Eric didn't intend to leave Brooke, Ridge wanted her to move in with him. Both Brooke and Stephanie were working hard to make sure that Ridge doesn’t marry Taylor. Maybe you should rewatch the episodes again. It is always good to refresh your mind.
Taylor was in an extremely abusive relationship both physically and verbally. That is why she had plastic surgery. If I remember correctly, she had to have reconstructive surgery because of the abuse she endured. When you are in an abusive relationship even just emotionally and verbally it brings your self-esteem to an all time low. It doesn't matter how beautiful you are if your partner is constantly telling you that you're not good enough, you're not pretty enough etc... Hunter and Taylor have actually experienced some of the same issues on the show and in real life. It's like the saying about art imitating life. Both Hunter and Taylor lost a child. Both experienced physical and mental abuse. Both were used and mistreated by men. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Know one deserves that and due to all the trauma she experienced is the reason she left the show several times. Just wanted to shed some light on why she did what she did to her face.

In fact Brooke was always second best, he would only go to her when he lost his wife (Caroline) or was under the impression his wife died (Taylor), it changed much later when Taylor turned to be alive for the second time. But before that it was Caroline and after she passed away it was Taylor. Ridge's words to Brooke to give it up represent exaxtly how he felt about it himself. It was not just some sacrifice for his father, he really wanted to start a life with Taylor.

They were not forgotten, they were not so much compared to Brooke. Besides that in 1995 Eric was not married to Stephanie or in a relationship with her and Taylor was not with Ridge, so technically it was not even a misstep. In my memory that so called affair also didn't go much further than a kiss or two.

Taylor was in an extremely abusive relationship both physically and verbally. That is why she had plastic surgery. If I remember correctly, she had to have reconstructive surgery because of the abuse she endured. When you are in an abusive relationship even just emotionally and verbally it brings your self-esteem to an all time low. It doesn't matter how beautiful you are if your partner is constantly telling you that you're not good enough, you're not pretty enough etc... Hunter and Taylor have actually experienced some of the same issues on the show and in real life. It's like the saying about art imitating life. Both Hunter and Taylor lost a child. Both experienced physical and mental abuse. Both were used and mistreated by men. It's absolutely heartbreaking. Know one deserves that and due to all the trauma she experienced is the reason she left the show several times. Just wanted to shed some light on why she did what she did to her face.
