It's an 11 year old game, yes, but considering how many times the game was re-released, and as you said, still generally sells for the same price as any other brand new game, and given that I'm pretty sure its bethesdas biggest title, I'm also annoyed at how pointless some of the features it was showcasing are. Marriage has the potential of being really cool and utility but instead is a throwaway thing. When I was a kid doing my first playthrough, it was still lackluster to me. it's extremely not hard for them to do an overhaul on a mundane feature like this but choose not to, n still deny us marrying the ONE NPC we actually want to. I too am upset about it.
I'm surprised that no one have made a mod for the game that completely overhauls the marriage part, yes it's an old game but man they could have flushed out and done the marriage part so much better than it is. Instead of just having your spouse staying at home and just well doing nothing or having them follow you it would be nice to like have them some times give you more random quests or even like head out and do their own stuff. Luckily enough Skyrim does have an amazing mod community so who knows what the future holds for the game on that part.
Agree. While romance is not important compared to other mechanics in this game, it was still kind of awful. Of course pulling something off like in the dragon age series might not even fit TES. But they for sure could take some lessons from the DA romances. Hell, them even marrying you immediately is unrealistic, even in the TES world. You hear a lot about how people are lovers and not married in the TES. So it would be neat if you would be able to end up in a relationship first. And maybe after some more work you can propose. And of course many will say that they don't care about this stuff but I personally do. I'm a sucker for romances in RPG games.
You do know that even irl it would sell very high think about how poachers hunt elephants for tusk it's ivory and ivory is worth a bit so it's probably a wealth thing but also she needs it to get in with khajits so question the khajit merchants also i believe in some Skyrim lore it brings luck I think don't quote me
I just love it when I hear someone complain about the exact things that I find ridiculous, it gives me an immense sense of satisfaction to know someone else in the world is just as annoyed as I am. 👌🏼🎩
Well to me questlines are more important if I ever feel like marriage is necessary I use it as a reward And I'm a modder so I was able to overhaul marriage like in different areas to marry someone to even animations like hugging(screw the kissing that's too far) to make the marriage have more meaning at least
@@ThatFella Yeah that's also another thing to complain about like we have some Argonians that we can marry yet not Khajiit? Like they don't even need to be inside the city for that with the hearth dlc. Which opens the topic on the race we choose we play as one yet they let us in without making a fuss over it? Use to love this game in my teens but looking at it from the bland marriage system everything kinda feels kinda blah. And it's ironic we start realizing this when they kept remastering this game for newer platforms and it's like aw crap. I can't unsee it now
It should work like mass effect 2 with some tweaks. Talk to the npc (and please less repeating lines and different voice actors), do 2, 3 quest for them, wear the amulet (I like the amulet idea) she says: "you're nice with me all the time and I see you wear that thing, wanna fling?" or whatever... After a while a final quest gets unlocked and if you complete it the marriage option its available. Easy and not too crazy for TES.
two things you have to get out of the way first, both Bethesda and Bioware are pioneers when it comes to rpgs, but there approach to gaming is entirely different. while Elder Scrolls is all about immersing into the world, creating whatever character you wanna be. but Dragon Age is less about immersing and puts more of a focus on story, and character building. now don't get me wrong it's nice Bethesda added it, but it felt like a last minute thing on their part. when there's only one companion you build any relationship at all with, and there not available. it's like why go that far with Serana, only to get people's hopes up. now im not saying she should be the only option, but it's obvious they spent alot of time with the character. the problem is, there not portrayed in a good light, and one of the reasons you go to Dawnguard is to join up. but the minute someone finds out your vampire, people will become distant, and even some of your followers will question it. so it seems like Serana should've been something else, maybe if they didn't make her a vampire, it would be alot easier to pursue her, but the way went about the whole thing, that's why she's not an option. because when you go to tell you, she politely turns you down, and her reason is based on you being Dragonborn. Isolde is a nice girl, but i didn't even know she was an option. i talked to her like once or twice, but Aela the Huntress is another that's not easy. because you soon find out, her and Farkas or Vilkas are an item. although not confirmed, most people suspect.
Serana's one of those cases where what's interesting about the character reveals what's uninteresting about too many others. _"Character with whom you establish a bond but who chooses never to be intimate with you for reasons of their own"_ could have been a complex and meaningful role... if the rest of the game had ever come close to connecting _"intimate"_ and _"a bond."_
@@ThatFella Combine this passive income with Goldenhills Plantation, Guild Master's Tribute Chest, and you will get so much money that you can buy anything in this game. PS. You will also save up some money on the steward for the Goldenhills Plantation.
I mean… like I said man, gold isn’t really a hard thing to come by. All that stuff is really awesome if you’re trying to get that one achievement, but in a standard playthrough you get more than enough gold just by dungeoning when you go on a pretty much any quest, ykno?

Gentlemen, ditch the bland skyrim bullshit, go fully over to the dark side , get M'rissi Tails of trouble and become a Furry, or Cat girl lover? According to a mate of mine theres apparently a difference. Regardless, wayyyy better story, way better marriage option. 8 hour story with consequenses, hell if you fuck Up she could die and the Missions Just end, or she could become s vegetables if you fuck Up, or a sexually abused slave, or dead, again, or happily married, or a very good friend, so many consequenses for all your actions and words... Take care gentlemen.
completely agree with everything you said. it's a shame they took the quantity over quality route for spouse options. thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! Hopefully in the next elder scrolls maybe there’ll be more in-depth mechanics for game romances!
And here I am with a mod that let's me marry almost any npc I want lol

Why in oblivion Ysolda would want a mammoth tusk for ?🧐
Maybe to draw in people to look at the tusk then maybe buy something while they are in the store
To sell to the khajiit caravan I think?
That may be private business.

I agree only thing i would add too it. Would be that your spouse take stuff out of your house and you have to buy it back.
I think this is all good and fair and pointing it out in the hopes the next will be better

Honestly that’s the very least they could’ve done. Some races were omitted completely

You get a passive income, so I don't think it's useless.
Fair enough. But 100 gold a day isn’t really much in Skyrim. Even if it accumulates gold isn’t really a hard thing to come by
