You should go watch the Stockholm Derby! The first one of the season will be on the 24th of April between AIK and Djurgårdens IF. Both founded in 1891, so there is deep hatred between the two. Fun fact: Union Berlin actually came to Stockholm to play a friendly against Djurgårdens IF in 2014, and fans from both sides ended up storming the pitch and confronting each other by throwing flares and whatnot.

Hallo, Great footage… 👍👍👍 At this game you have already experienced quite a lot of the UNION spirit fans… So, if you really want to experience the ultimate football feeling you HAVE to see UNION at home…!!! THIS is still a 100% traditional experience how football used to be in "good all times"… all around…! I had the humongous luck to get a ticket, when my team - Borussia Mönchengladbach - played at the legendary "completely old style" Union Stadium "Alte Försterei" in their first season in the 1. Bundesliga 2019/2020… …and it was my BEST football experience EVER!!!!!!! Even we - BMG - have come to Union as Bundesliga leader and we lost 2:0, it was unbelievably miracle… UNION is still through and through a REAL club like it used to be… They have reached everything themselves with the support from their wonderful fans. In their long, nearly endless time down in 4th, third and second leagues there were even times, when the fans have even helped to finance the extension-build of the stadium… And today… Union is still working with one of the lowest, probably even the lowest budget of all Bundesliga clubs, spending approx. 25 million for player-salaries… Herta for example over 65… Herta is working with investors for many years, spending millions and millions every year, dreaming officially to be the "Big City Club", but just can't make it… Summa Summarum… "Eisern" (iron) UNION is the REAL Thing in Berlin… absolutely NO question… Sorry Herta… 😉
And now you have to imagine this fans are supporting their team like that and they are on the 17th, it’s really time that our team matches up with the energy the fans have
when you really think about it, go back to 2011 when river were relegated, go back to 2011 when independiente was relegated, go back to where rosario central, a team that has a fantastic atmosphere was in the premiera B of Argentine football before they came back in 2013
Thanks for uploading this video, no matter how disappointing the results were. On one side, I really love your videos and your commitment to Football. I am American, but I fell in love with Berlin first, quite a few years ago, and then I fell in love with Hertha. I am not sure this time around that they'll be able to stay in Bundesliga 1, I hope that I'm wrong.....
Geographically, you may call it a derby because both clubs are Berlin based. But remember that, before the German reunification and many years after, those two clubs have never faced each other. Union was mainly playing in the 3rd or 2nd tier after reunification, they even spent one season in the 4th tier before becoming a regular participant of the 2. Bundesliga and then making it to the all-German top flight for the very first time a few years ago. Hertha BSC is a club from West Berlin, so they have always been a part of the Western German Bundesliga while Berlin was seperated in two parts. In contrast, Union as a club from the East has been a member of the DDR-Oberliga, the highest level in GDR football until 1990. Actually, Union's fiercest rival before reunification in the DDR-Oberliga was BFC Dynamo, a club which was heavily supported by the GDR regime as their 'flagship' in Eastern Berlin, so BFC Dynamo (not to be confused with Dynamo Dresden) have won many titles in the DDR-Oberliga and had the best East German players in their squad such as Andreas Thom or Thomas Doll, while Union and its fans had the reputation of rather rejecting the GDR's political system. P.S. BFC Dynamo is now playing in the Regionalliga (4th level of the German football pyramid).
You should try to get tickets for the Kaiserslautern-Saarbrücken matchup on sunday. Derby, 47k in the 3rd division, a lot of tradition and both battling for promotion. I know, it's already sold out, but if you can somehow get tickets for it, it's gonna blow your mind!

Next season you can go to the 2. Bundesliga match between Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock if Dresden manages to stay in the 2. Bundesliga. The game is called "Ostderby" because both clubs were clubs of East Germany. The fans of both teams are definitely among the best in Germany. Please go there.
I feel bad for Hertha-fans, they are literally the only positive thing about this club and they deserve much better. The rest of the club is a shambles, from the players all the way up to the management/board. As long as Bobic is in charge, selling the useful players and bringing in mediocre replacements, I don't see it getting any better. I hope they avoid relegation, so we can watch the Hauptstadtderby again next season. Greetings from a Union Berlin & PSV Eindhoven fan🔴⚪
Thodgen, I know it's far away, but you have to come to Uruguay to watch Peñarol. It's arguably the best and loudest fans of the whole continent. The chants and the atmosphere are so great and contagious. You will never forget it!

It‘s just sad that you can‘t really hear the other side of the stadium. In the away end it‘s hard to hear Hertha and from the Ostkurve you can‘t hear the away section. We need a new stadium
I was there to. Next week against Stuttgart there will be sadly not even 45.000 visitors i think. To be a Hertha Fan is very hard most of the time. In Berlin there are more Dortmund or Bayern Fans. In this big City it feels like nobody cares about Hertha. But years ago i fell in love with this Club and since then there is no way out. Today we got a massive win against Augsburg and next week against Stuttgart is the most important game this season so far

Atmosphere was brilliant btw, Germans are such nice people, and they now how to make noise for sure.
Keep up the good content thoggy!! You’re everywhere mate 😂👌
Schalke is first in the 2 Bundesliga so I think we are in a better place at least right now than hertha
@@hyghdkwhyyzkkgdd3255 it's only 3 points to 5th place so it's still everything open
Schalke and Bremen might be making a quick return!
Mönchengladbach, Köln, Frankfurt still come back, 60 München, Kaiserslautern not, Werder, Schalke, HSV maybe-theire a lot of changes in german football.
But, yeah Union is now one of the good changes. :D
Don't worry Hertha won't get relegated.
Haha I was watching the game on TV and thought: "Man Thogden would have loved that!''- and there you go - you were there!! LOL

Yo thogden, first and foremost enjoyed the vid again - Greetings from a belgian lad in germany.. Also went to a packed out Schalke 04 match today - My suggestion would definetly be next week Borussia Mönchengladbach against Köln - Next to dortmund schalke and hertha union defo up there in terms rivalries in Germany.. also gonna be there, so if you would consider going next week i can maybe help in terms of tickets... Keep up the vids mate!
Southampton & Hertha fan. My teams conceded 10 goals today, scored 1 & it was an own goal. Football can be so painful 😣
Since Herthaners are suckers for humiliation you might just have given me a secondary football love interest ;)

You need to go to the Hamburg Derby St.pauli against HSV, great atmosphere!
Oder St.Pauli gegen Rostock :D

Thanks thogden for the amazing vlog! The result is so disappointing as a hertha fan but i hope that we can make it to stay in the league!💙💙

Viel Erfolg. Eiserne Grüße :)
Massive fixture against Arminia in a couple weeks. Win that, Hertha can probably move into the playoff at worst. Lose that, it's all over.

This stadium is massive! Would like to Go again even as not a supporter of Herta Berlin you have to go to this stadium!
its really not that great. even hertha supporters don't really like it. the stadium is far to big for their fanbase and most of the time they have lots of empty seats. if you want to go there then go to a berlin derby because its like the only game in the season where they don't have any empty seats.
@@kaedeakamatsu6877 It is my Hertha stadium, but it is sooo depressiv on a friday night to loose against Hoffenheim or Mainz with brave 30 000 other visitors near 0 degree Celsius.

You should go watch the Stockholm Derby! The first one of the season will be on the 24th of April between AIK and Djurgårdens IF. Both founded in 1891, so there is deep hatred between the two.
Fun fact:
Union Berlin actually came to Stockholm to play a friendly against Djurgårdens IF in 2014, and fans from both sides ended up storming the pitch and confronting each other by throwing flares and whatnot.
Why did they fight lol
Better if he see a derby in
Tele2arena. Hammarby. Best fans in Sweden and Scandinavia! And the tele2arena is smaller and gives better atmosphere than the bigger Friends. Friends sucks. I don't say that AIKfans sucks, the Friendsarena just swallow the sound in a not nice way. Hammarby-AIK, Hammarby-Djurgardens, Djurgardens-Hammarby or Djurgardens-AIK in Tele2arena would be a better pick than the Friendsderbies.
@@erikjohanson23 Hammarby are not the best fans of Sweden or Scandinavia.
@@saibot1221 Yes they are, by far! Seen so many games in Stockholm and Hammarby the best! But Djurgardens-AIK are still to prefer over AIK-Djurgardens.
Hammarby

Malmoe
Djurgardens
In that order! Dosen't matter what you say, I watched so many games that I trust my own opinion.

Hallo,
Great footage… 👍👍👍
At this game you have already experienced quite a lot of the UNION spirit fans…
So, if you really want to experience the ultimate football feeling you HAVE to see UNION at home…!!!
Bundesliga 2019/2020…
…and it was my BEST football experience EVER!!!!!!!
Even we - BMG - have come to Union as Bundesliga leader and we lost 2:0, it was unbelievably miracle…
UNION is still through and through a REAL club like it used to be…
They have reached everything themselves with the support from their wonderful fans. In their long, nearly endless time down in 4th, third and second leagues there were even times, when the fans have even helped to finance the extension-build of the stadium…
And today… Union is still working with one of the lowest, probably even the lowest budget of all Bundesliga clubs, spending approx. 25 million for player-salaries… Herta for example over 65…
Herta is working with investors for many years, spending millions and millions every year, dreaming officially to be the "Big City Club", but just can't make it…
Summa Summarum…
"Eisern" (iron) UNION is the REAL Thing in Berlin… absolutely NO question…
Sorry Herta… 😉
Come to Alte Försterei, so to us!;-) But congrats for this amazing video, i guess even hertha fans will be pleased to see the beginning, well done!
He has already been at the Alte Försterei several times, just search for "thogden" and "union berlin" :)
And now you have to imagine this fans are supporting their team like that and they are on the 17th, it’s really time that our team matches up with the energy the fans have
when you really think about it, go back to 2011 when river were relegated, go back to 2011 when independiente was relegated, go back to where rosario central, a team that has a fantastic atmosphere was in the premiera B of Argentine football before they came back in 2013
You should visit Mönchengladbach vs Cologne Next week. Also one of the biggest Derbys in Germany
Berlin derby is one of the craziest derbys I have ever seen

You should definitely go to the Mönchengladbach - Köln Derby next week
The atmosphere at the Borussia Park is one of the best in Europe.

Thanks for uploading this video, no matter how disappointing the results were. On one side, I really love your videos and your commitment to Football. I am American, but I fell in love with Berlin first, quite a few years ago, and then I fell in love with Hertha. I am not sure this time around that they'll be able to stay in Bundesliga 1, I hope that I'm wrong.....
ua-cam.com/video/Cicil9TF38g/v-deo.html
I know, it's already sold out, but if you can somehow get tickets for it, it's gonna blow your mind!
funfact/bad omen: in your hotelroom at 1:15 was a picture of a german actor Wotan Wilke Möhring.
he acted 2016 in the movie Seitenwechsel the coach of 1FCUnion. greatings from Berlin #hahohe
Fantastic!
Thank you for coming to berlin and supporting Hertha BSC 👈👍

As an English man and a newcastle united fan and absolutely love to play against this club because both sets of fans from us and them oh it would be absolutely crazy I'd love to have this team play in a European competition oh god that would be amazing
Germany have the best fans
You have to come to a Frankfurt game! The atmosphere is soooo good! I don‘t know if you watched the game against Barcelona
Was at the game in the Union stand! Amazing atmosphere in there too.
Thodgen, I know it's far away, but you have to come to Uruguay to watch Peñarol. It's arguably the best and loudest fans of the whole continent. The chants and the atmosphere are so great and contagious. You will never forget it!

The songtext from the first chant you were singing with them is: From spandau to Hellersdorf, from Wedding to Neuköln, from Zehlendorf to JWD, there is only Herta BSC; so remember one thing for all time and never forget it: Unioner come from Köpenik, Hertaner from Berlin!
In reality West Berlin is for Hertha and east Berlin for Union. This is wishful Fan thinking.
