Could be pretty hard for you to get a ticket. The Stadium has, as you said, only 22.012 seats and nowadays the club has 60.000 members. Therefore every game there’s a ticket-lottery in which you can only participate as a member of the club. I would encourage you to send an e mail to the Club asking for Media Permission when they play against a club like Hoffenheim or some other insignificant Team. Love from Berlin!

Some additional infos for you that might be helpful. - The white building you showed in the beginning is the old forester house, nowadays our president and co have this as a workplace, though this might change soon as we started building a new training groud with new facilitys, which will also add a house back there, where the first layer is for the players, like cabins for them, second layer for the coaches and 3rd layer for the presidium - with the Promotion in the 1990s once we also faked bank statement to pretend we are financial stable its kinda messed up - with the Pokal run in 2000/01 we were the only 3rd div team to make it to the final ever, aswell as playing in europe that year - the Statue you saw infront of the Stadium is celebrating our biggest Trophy ever with the FDGB Trophy in 1968 - the east german equivalent to the dfb pokal or FA Cup - The Stadium was build 3/4 by Fans, all the Standing Areas, sadly they will all soon be destroyed, our president just announced that it wont happen in the 25/26 season but rather 1 year later, when we will extend the Stadium to Around 40k, sadly the standing sectors dont have the stability to build stuff on top, so they will just have to be rebuild completly - As you Mentioned with eisern Union its mainly a tribute to the Area we are from as Niederschöneweide was a place of alot of Metall work

It's not as glamorous and high-quality as English football, but the Bundesliga and especially its fans have their own charm. If I can recommend something to you, try to keep an eye on the „2.Bundesliga“ as well. You will find there some of the biggest and most traditional German clubs (such as Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Schalke 04, Kaiserslautern, 1.FC Köln ...) - 5 out of 10 European Championship stadiums belong to clubs from the second division! ohhh definitely! 2. Bundesliga has MASSIVE clubs. I visited Arena AufSchalke recently and will return for a game. Had a brief walk around the RheinEnergieStadion also. Even the 3. Liga looks great for 24/25 🤩

The small building with the fanshop in it, is made out of construction cabins. Back when the stadium was not refurbished, this was where the teams had the dressing rooms and they went to the pitch by a small bridge.
If you’re still in Berlin, you should check out a museum there about East German history and the wall. I think it’s called the DDR Museum. I went there many years ago and it was interesting. Also there is one section of the wall still up and I did a doodle of a bird with my name on it. Probably long since painted over by now.

Berlin is great for groundhopping full of famous old grounds and easy to see a game coz apart from Union they're all lower league - you must try to get to the Mommsen, Poststadion and the FLJ Sportpark withj its iconic floodlights !

Theres is no district in Berlin where you cant see signs of Hertha fans, but otherwise there are a lot areas where you dont even notice that there are other clubs in Berlin except of Hertha. Btw what makes Hertha "old and frosty" for you? You sound absolutely biased on your opinion and I bet you never visited Hertha as a home visitor.
I'm supporter of the other big Berlin club from the west side, that's the reason why I don't appreciate Union. Our home is the stadium of the final by the last EURO. HaHoHe Hertha BSC .😂

But I mean stadiums who clubs playin their homegames. If Hertha don't play in the Olympic Stadium, it will be a big problem for the City of Berlin. They pay many millions to use this .
