Heavy on the Polaris bias there, aren't we; it sounded more like a RZR commercial (and the cockpit is not that great). Way to nice to the Maverick, it has awesome power from the Rotax, but handles like crap on rough Terrain. The Wildcat gets the negative bias as usual. It is underpowered, but it is far superior on the rough terrain and much more stable than the other two.
Michael Schilcher Congrats on your purchase, the trail has been kicking ass. I assume it’s like the X, meaning it has superior suspension, better all-wheel drive (especially over Can Am), the only one with locking 4WD, top end speed very close to a comparable Polaris , much more cab room, the edge of the seats is not the edge of vehicle like Polaris, and low pro meaning you won’t be lifting tires, leaning, and rolling like the other guys. Just thought I would through another plug in the Cat.
So what I got out of that is the wildcat rides and corners the best, the rzr is fastest and the can am looks great but handles poorly. Really whats most important is ? Speed, Control or looks. Me personally I want a great smooth handling ride. So Probably the Arctic Cat.
When one of them had poor handling, he stated that it was a "handful". And in the real world fastest doesn't mean a whole lot. Personally I would take handling and comfort over speed. I would think most people are just cruising around forest service roads and not road-racing across the desert.
I am interested in how much abuse the belts in the CVTs hold up in each brand. I love Polaris but friends from work complain about how often they break their belts in their Rangers.
No use for the Pullaris , which is all we do with them on trail runs. Pull them out of mud, ditches, bushes, or when they break down... No issues with Arctic Cat..
The audio in the video is poorly mixed. Very hard to hear the voice over and the voice over is only coming out of the right channel. I had to put headphones on to understand what was being said. Just thought you might want to know.
well king of hammers was basically all rzr. im waiting to see how the new wildcat sport does arctic cat should have put the higher horse motor in the sport and i think the rzr would have a challenge.
Not really a shootout, we still have no idea which one they like best, which was second, and why. The only negative comment was that the can am was a handful
Oh dude, me too. What happened to Honda? I remember going to the Oregon Dunes when the ATC 250R came out!!! The Honda Pilot also (not the van ha ha) was awesome. Growing up we had the 1st Odyssey 250. Yellow with zero suspension, but still a blast to drive. I totally agree with you, Honda needs to come out with a remarkable side by side. They might has something up their sleeves one hopes right?
I just dont understand why all 3 of these machines are sooooo under powered? Why just around 100hp?? When both sleds and streetbikes are almost, and in some cases, are double that.....WTF....p[lease someone respond....Intelligently!!!
$20000 already and if they had more power, expect even higher retail prices. The new turbo Maverick 1000 is $22000. Already out of reach for 95% of population, including me. I'm a bit conservative on buying "toys" though. If you can't pay cash for a toy, you can't afford it. A house and an automobile are the only things anyone should finance. Too many people living beyong their means these days.
Horsepower relates more to speed. They can go plenty fast already. They need more torque however. You dont need alot of horse power to get good torque. Hence the reason old skidders only had 60-70 hp back in the day. They only went about 20 mph but are able to pull trees through the woods. Thats my guess.
Randy Giackino I disagree. From a physics point of view torque is free. A 3 year old girl can generate 6000 ft-lbs of torque. Just give her a big lever. She pushes with one pound force on a lever a mile long and bingo, more torque than a diesel train engine. You do realize that a transmission can freely multiply torque to any number. That's why gears exist. However, horsepower is not free. You have burn gas at a faster rate to get more. Manufactures do advertise torque as a selling point. But it's irrelevant to advertise something that is freely multiplied. The real question is how fast can you burn fuel?? End of story.
natewebb my main point here with out getting into physics is that snowmobiles and street motorcycles now days go 100+ mph stock (estimate). Utvs go 60-80 mph. Seeing as how utvs are off road vehicles, they need more torque. Hence the generally larger belt drives and transmissions then a motor cycle or snowmobile. Keep in mind alot of snowmobiles and motorcycles 600cc and bigger have more horsepower then little 4 cylinder cars even though the motor on the car is obviously larger including displacement. Anywho, as i said, you dont need a lot of horsepower to get good torque, you need it more often then not to increase speed. Atvs/utvs need more torque to turn the tires through mud and other terrain so by increasingn displacement, they can now increase speed and torque and meet closer towards the middle.
this video is only consistent for the 2014 model line up, for the 2015's its all maverick xds and for 2016 suspension is all yxz1000 and speed is still with the new canam xds 131hp sxs that is a few hundred pounds lighter then the polaris and yamaha,,,,,,all great rides!!
The photography in this video is great which is why I was surprised by how poor the audio mixing and production is. Fire your production people. Its that bad. I'm no pro but a 14 year old with basic, free editing software could have done better. AND the narrator is probably a great magazine editor and rider but really needs to pass off the microphone to someone else. I'm sure there is an extrovert somewhere at Dirt Wheels. Yes I know that the video is four years old and you may have already figured that out, but I had to say something. It's that bad.
Solowarrior23 I had a can am maverick it was junk the RZR is much better . I tried to love the maverick but it broke down so much and now with the RZR we are back to having fun !
Jesus christ, is the music loud enough? Your viewers shouldn't have to strain to hear you talking over your music, and having it blare even louder between speaking is really GD annoying

Yea I have a wildcat trail. Even though it's not the x it still handle so well. It's extremely hard to roll
Michael Schilcher

madmike136 now the xx is awesome best ride on the market for comfort in whoops
Exactly

Thats most likely a belt manufacturer issue, nothing really to do with the machine
i like how they used the 2013.5 wildcat x. my 2014 wildcat x is faster then the 13.5
finally someone said it
Where do you put your golf clubs?
No use for the Pullaris , which is all we do with them on trail runs. Pull them out of mud, ditches, bushes, or when they break down... No issues with Arctic Cat..

I had to put headphones on to understand what was being said.
Just thought you might want to know.
So if u don’t need drag racing u just want the trail fun (corners , very bumpy rides etc etc) wildcat best option?
well king of hammers was basically all rzr. im waiting to see how the new wildcat sport does arctic cat should have put the higher horse motor in the sport and i think the rzr would have a challenge.
The 2015 can am 1000 turbo hands down is the best of the newest.
Not really a shootout, we still have no idea which one they like best, which was second, and why. The only negative comment was that the can am was a handful
this video is informative and very helpful thank you overall rating 8/10 but for you my friend 9/10
Basically you don't want to say which one is better. Teaser Got it!
Better is relative to what type of riding you do.
The yxz 1000 by Yamaha is going to kick all these things butts
+Blake Caruso it does look fucking beast!!! from the inventors of the side by side: the rhino. too bad i'm too poor to afford one.
why the fuck is Honda not in the mix? They had the pilot back in the day, but nothing now. Those pilots were fun.
+DUGIE FRESH I would love to see Honda get back into the UTV market! They were the first. I loved the old 350 Odyssey.
Oh dude, me too. What happened to Honda? I remember going to the Oregon Dunes when the ATC 250R came out!!! The Honda Pilot also (not the van ha ha) was awesome. Honda Pioneer 1000 is $14,000 definitely the cheapest of the bunch
Can-am maverick 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
I have a "can am maverick 1000r limited addition" it has navigation it rides smooth
Gay because she won't take you 😂
The load Music killed the review.
you guys are comparing it fare and rzr is the best
So who won??
+Darren Betker the one that payed more .
I just dont understand why all 3 of these machines are sooooo under powered? Why just around 100hp?? When both sleds and streetbikes are almost, and in some cases, are double that.....WTF....p[lease someone respond....Intelligently!!!

Darren Betker You can always build a custom rail if you have the money. Skip the whole UTV thing and build a turbo Hayabusa single seater.

Polaris, everybody else try to keep up.
Tofutaco11 It’s pretty simple to adjust the compression on the shocks which will fix the body roll in the corners. It takes less than five minutes.
and then the increased compression causes it to be horrible on the whoops.
Aaron LeBlanc It definitely doesn’t, works great on my XP 1000.
Oh no wait till he tries a can am
CAN AM ALL DAY
this video is only consistent for the 2014 model line up, for the 2015's its all maverick xds and for 2016 suspension is all yxz1000 and speed is still with the new canam xds 131hp sxs that is a few hundred pounds lighter then the polaris and yamaha,,,,,,all great rides!!
Seth Smith for 2017/2018 can-am all the way with the x3
Do they not go through mud?
No, if they get wet they shut down and die and have to be towed back to the trailer. For sand only. If you don't have sand near you, don't buy one.
Greg Rowe lol really? Put some snorkels on it. Unstoppable
Its called sarcasm, look it up if you've never heard of it.
that song though!!!!!!!!!!!
1:41 what the voice?!?
Wildcat
intro song name plz ?
Megadeth- Symphony of destruction

I think the Can am is just as good as the rzr
Solowarrior23 I had a can am maverick it was junk the RZR is much better . I tried to love the maverick but it broke down so much and now with the RZR we are back to having fun !
that background music is very distracting!
The Maverick is the fastest SXS out there, that drag was so hilariously edited.
No it's not I raced my rzr 900xp against maverick 1000r and I won, also the Mavericks suspension sucks so much.
Maverick and wildcat don't exist in United arab emirates at all, Polaris is Dominant.
This is america
MEGADETH!!!
Wildcat1000 better shoke everrrrrr
meu nome e cauâ eu tenho 9 anos e tenho um rzr xp 1000 EPS FOX
Polaris ranger kinda guy
Cut out the music.. can barley under stand What he's saying
too narrow , too short and too top heavy and a weak power to weight ratio!
The music is extremely boring, and the narrator is probably the best thing to put someone to sleep….
LONG LIVE THE CAT!
1000 rzr
Nice Ong. Hi, what's up?! grubby tail What's happening, kuys. 11
Jesus christ, is the music loud enough? Your viewers shouldn't have to strain to hear you talking over your music, and having it blare even louder between speaking is really GD annoying
Can't view on mobile. FAIL
mobgma Why would you want to watch on a 4 inch screen anyways?
Arctic Cat or Can-Am
Wow, what a biased piece...
Man is the arctic cat ugly tho, looks like a ford ranger 😂
Wild cat sucks
