    My first step into the audiophile world was the HD560s and ifi Zen Dac v2 + Tidal for streaming music.. Honestly blew me away the first time I heard music/gaming at that level and sent me down a very expensive rabbit hole. I still understand why people go wireless especially with the audio constantly improving in this space!
    Also if they think you are being paid for your reviews they clearly haven't been here long haha it's the reason I always come back to your reviews as I know they aren't paid and never will be.

    The Sennheiser 560s is usually $179, doesn't need a powerful dac and is better then any gaming headset. I have the 560s and the 58x with just a simple ifi uno dac/amp.

    Techne...that original comment was mine and I appreciate you making a video in regards to that question. Never expected it. I did however do just as you stated in the video and bought both the HD560 and Atlas Air. Still deciding on a dac though as I'm primarily on PS5 and want something compatible. I really like the Atlas Air but out of the box and after firmware update their volume is just really low. I'm not sure I can live with it that low. The 560s definitely need more power than the controller provides to get the most out of them. Though even as they are I can hear little details I don't think I've heard before.

    Love the videos. What is that headphone stand? It looks super nice! Also supposedly connecting them to your phone and changing the staging will fix the low audio. Have been looking for a headset for many months now and finally just bought these. First time I'll ever use a non closed back headphone. Can't wait to try them out.

    I've been using my Phillips X2HR's for many years and found my end game. Really comfy and can be used for hours and fairly dynamic with more than enough bass for that impact in games and videos. For mic HyperX. Paired up with Khadas Tone Board + JDS Atom and set up has been working flawlessly.
    I can understand the want for gaming headsets. Especially in the lower end on the price spectrum where you can get some really good ones like HyperX Clould/Alphas (I've had a few of those). And even higher end ones like the Turtle Beaches for convienience and ease of use. Though with that said.. I can't go back to gaming headsets as I find most to be uncomfortable and lacking in sound quality unless you are willing to spend a considerable amount of money for a high end that doesn't compromise on build or sound.

    What really is there that makes the features of Gaming junk worth the price?
    I'm no audiophile, I'm gaming a lot in my free time and I recently began wanting to replace my Razer Kraken X that I've been gifted years ago, and there's not really much from what I can see that justifies the prices that much.
    Built-in mic that sounds like ass, and often isn't retractable or detachable, making it weird to use in public? Get headphones and buy a standalone mic instead. Volume controls on the headset itself Some have it, some not, get the ones that do. Mobile app with profiles for games? ...why the extra struggle for something that should just work well our of the box? Surround sound? Most often than not it's shit. RGB? ...do I need to comment this one?

But when I want to relax and play some more chill games on my couch and OLED (hooked to my PC aswell) I use either SteelSeries 7X or my newly discovered gaming IEMs (TRN VX) connected directly to the DualSense Controller. Let me tell you, these IEMs rival, if not, sound BETTER than my high end setup, also they have a mic, pretty basic but does the job. Still wired but they work really good.

  • @Enzo_560
    @Enzo_560 Місяць тому

    This video here absolutely is the answer to this. You certainly can’t just say an amp and headphones are always the best experience for everyone. Some people are content with headset features, some want the best fidelity that an amplified headphone can give. But both camps have their own tastes, and sometimes a headset that meets those tastes with its signature can be better to someone than a higher fidelity headphone with amp that has a signature that isn’t to their taste. For example, throwing the HD560s and an amplifier around to every person who wants a better game experience doesn’t always work, while it will be more fps competitive and absolutely is a great choice for that, its neutral and more flat sound may bore quite a few people. Additionally while that person may actually like it, there may be something out there that cost less that has a signature they liked even more, for instance maybe everything with that 560s is all good but they feel they miss out on immersive bass. Best thing you can do is figure out what you like, what you may feel you’re missing from your set (whether it be full bodied immersion, imaging for competitive fps, staging, etc), and then go find what will suit you.

  • @SolidStick247
    @SolidStick247 Місяць тому

    It is true that gaming headsets have many comforting features like volume nobs ,noise canceling, attached mic and of course being wireless, Headphones on the other hand give you the rich sound, however not all games will get the benefit of sound, some games have bad sound engineering like FF7 Remake while some games are masterpieces when it comes to sound and surround optimization like Resident Evil 2 Remake, so it also depends on what you are playing, 2D games will not get the benefit of wide soundstage , open world games need a headphone/headset with wide soundstage to enjoy the environment.
    So if you sit on a couch and play your consoles on TV you are stuck with wireless headsets, if you are hooked to a desk, I see no reason to use wireless.

    • @Nman2003
      @Nman2003 Місяць тому

      Using a dac/amp will definitely help with volume and might "clean" up your audio source if you have lots of interference in your system. However, this will add another volume knob which might conflict with your headsets if they have it too. Youd wanna set your headsets to near max and then probably only tweak the dac/amp's volume control. But then you'd lose a function on the headset ya bought. Also let's say your headphones came with software with volume mixing. That's another contender that wants control over your volume. So Id say definitely go for it but just note what your headset uses. And take note what software and hardware you already have for volume.
