I really enjoyed camping with you, Rick, and I think my lady boxer, Luna, was quite impressed with “the boy” (Akela). He was quite the gentleman! Take care!
Hope you are doing well Bill. I look forward to our next adventure together! (And so does Akela)
Looks like a lot of great campsite choices at that campground! Must be hard to deny Akela that stick when you get THAT look.
He has many looks !! The look he gave the vet while getting the prostate exam yesterday was very memorable!! LOL Our side was a little crowded, but of course all the campers were pretty friendly! Camping is just fun!! Thanks for stopping by!
Being retired not too long ago still has my clock in times that now I can sleep in yet still get up early and got to bed early most times. Looks like a really nice campground and doesn't appear it's used a lot. Thanks for Sharing. Stay Safe.
Well, We got there on Thursday, so it was pretty open then. But by Friday Night, it was packed. A very popular place on weekends!
That really is a beautiful park. Nice long hike. Nice to see all the different mushrooms. That's definitely true on the different time zones, and the effects on the body. Akela, always ready with a stick, lol. 😊👍
He is "Branching Out"... sorry for the pun... He now likes to carry around walnuts and hickory nuts and spit them at me!! LOL
@@GoingNoWhereFast LOL. Silly pup.
As a teenager I remember running those ridges and hills on a Spyder Bike. I can remember that lake being built! For your info, there is an old Church either near the water or just in the water back on the back side of the Trace lake. (I lived about 4 miles from there and had a wanderlust that had me riding my bike all over that area.)
Sounds like a great life!! I did much the same and now I have the same wanderlust for the entire US!! Thanks for the great comment !
Those golden chanterelle mushrooms you were showing towards the end are the most wanted and hard to find variety because of their specific growing conditions. They are poisonous when raw but delicious and safe when cooked. They cost upwards of over $200 per pound. The orange ones that you showed first are also good eating. When camping we go out looking for them and make them in our breakfast eggs. Mmmmmm...
Ya, I was pretty sure thats what they were, but had not picked them in a long time, so didn't want to say that n the video. People hear things on a video and then go out and try it and bad things can happen...LOL There were a lot there, if you want to go get them...LOL Thanks for the comment !
Very nice camp ground enjoy thank you ,3 aliner s in a row pretty cool .
They look very cool when there are a bunch of them together. Like an invasion from outer space. LOL
I hope I can visit that campground some day!
Make sure you stay more than a day...LOL
I’m staying at a cabin there in two weeks! I only live an hour and a half from there. Great video lets me know what to expect.
Jim
Always great to hear that they have purpose. Just remember lots of things have changed since COVID!
That's a cool place. I live about an hour and a half away. Been meaning to camp there.
If you do any of those things, you would like staying there. It is pretty first class! Thanks for the comment !
Thanks!
And Thanks a bunch for the Donation
Rick those campsites are awesome!! Good Video Quality even with the Fog
Throw a stick for Akela to grab for me…Lol Thanks Rick.
Thanks Roger!. Yes, a good time was had by All !
Man thats a real nice area down there. I go to Corinth and Iuka a lot for work. Even go through Pickwick sometimes.
Check it out. They have all the right reasons to stay there! Thanks for the comment.
PS I love your dog and I absolutely want a (rescue) German Sheppard.
I'm a little shy on rescues, but they can be good if you can give it the right kind of training and attention. They require a lot of work to make them really great dogs !
Ok, I can't find the plane crash video. I'm in West Jefferson, NC. I love your videos. I would love to hear more about that plane crash. If he was .04 in discovery, DOA, then he was probably .16 or .24
Try this one.....ua-cam.com/video/Ct2YD9OKLo4/v-deo.html
Thanks Rick, great video. Do you use any apps that help you find your way if you get lost (wander off the trail)? I'm trading down from a 30' 5th wheel and still can't decide between an aliner or a Geo Pro. They both have their advantages for me. Thanks again, John.
Just my totally unbiased opinion...LOL... But the Aliner fits in a garage and you can still stand up in it when camping. The Geo Pros are nice, 3x as heavy and definitely more comfortable. But the Aliner is a hard sided tent on wheels. I usually tell people if you just want to get off the ground and have been backpacking and tent camping for a long time, the Aliner is a great upgrade. If you are a long time RV camper, think long and hard about the Aliner, it may disappoint!
Oh, I carry an older Garmin GPS that works well in the forest, I've never been lost I didn't really enjoy it!! LOL What's an extra day or two in the woods ! I tell Akela that is why he is with me, in case I get lost and need to eat him. He says the same thing, he brings me in case he needs to eat me!! We may never know who would walk out of the woods!!! LOL
