+1 Range is great... It's now +2 - oh and they get an extra armour each! Wild civilisation with cheaper villagers. Then the Hussar with +1 pierce armour is actually really quite good. It's countreable fairly easily, but they've often done so much damage given these bonuses that it doesn't matter.

Awesome, great vid and great insights. Got my fingers crossed a top 5 cav archer vid will appear sometime down the line. Can Turks make it two in a row at #1?!
Teutons should be in honorable mentions: their armored siege cannons give them survivality against melee. And their double-cannoned (could be triple if garrisoned with 10 elite janissaries) bombard towers.
Hey Law, could you make a poll seeing how many of us watching actually even play Age of Empires? Ive only ever played 1 or 3 ai games, and honestly have little intention of playing again, but I still watch all your videos.

Hey Spirit, I got an important question for you... I notice in your multiplayer games you have pretty much NO lag and everyone seems to be able to play smooth as butter and no frame problems... Is their a guide to fixing that or can you tell me what you did to get your game running that well?
To be honest, the laggy games just don't make it into the video. Sometimes I also re-watch the records to get clips as well from players all over the map. I get lag in some games just like everybody else :)
Honestly, the music is too loud in this video. It overpowers your voice at several points, and competes uncomfortably with it through most of the video.

I finally got a new computer have been playing again for the first time in years since back when the original AoEII was out. The gunpowder civs have always been favs of mine with, ironically, the first being the Byzantine (due to their large tech tree along with cannoneers) followed by the Turks. When the expansion came, I was all for the Spanish as well, but haven't gotten to the newer HD civs yet. Although I get their purpose, I was kinda disappointed in the Korean turtle ship. Somewhat useful on maps with narrow rivers, but I find myself reverting back to the Spanish for their ballistics improved cannon galleons, lol
I gotta say with the faster research speeds I think Portuguese can unseat the Spanish. Also Spirit, I am very disappointed that you didn’t give Portuguese any points for the feitoria, an infinite source of gold to fuel their gunpowder military even in 1v1 matchups. Especially disappointing when you considered other eco bonuses such as Byz cheaper age ups and Turk gold mining. Plus since you gave Malians and Italians points for reducing research/aging times I think it’s fair to say Portugal’s new research speed boost can place them above the Spanish

Honourable mention Teutons: Bombard Towers can fire 2 with hand cannons garrisoned. 3 with specific allies. Free Murder Holes.
Plus unique tech (Ironclad) for siege armour.
I always get the urge to play AoE2 what you release a video
"Hi guys, Spirit of the Law here. In this explosive video we're gonna be looking at the top 5 gunpowder civilisations..."
Starting strong, right out of the gate, I see :)
the spanish are my fav water civ right now as i love bombarding enemies with the canon galleons
Awesome, great vid and great insights. Got my fingers crossed a top 5 cav archer vid will appear sometime down the line. Can Turks make it two in a row at #1?!
"Hey Spirit of the Law, Guys here".
3:20 is hilarious - talk about destruction! LOL
Teutons should be in honorable mentions: their armored siege cannons give them survivality against melee. And their double-cannoned (could be triple if garrisoned with 10 elite janissaries) bombard towers.
Thank goodness for December.
I think the Ethiopians deserve a mention for their very strong bombard cannons because of their increased blast damage
Hey Law, could you make a poll seeing how many of us watching actually even play Age of Empires? Ive only ever played 1 or 3 ai games, and honestly have little intention of playing again, but I still watch all your videos.
SOTL: " I hope this video's got you FIREd up"
me: eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyEYYYYYYYYEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.........
Spirit of The Law : the WarOwl of AoE
What happen if I dont have enough gold to create powerful unit like champion, arbalest, paladin, siege weapon, and special units?
I use goldless unit like pikemen/halberdier, elite skirmisher, and light cavalry/hussar
Edit: that is called trash unit right? Sorry if i wrong
Let me guess.. Turks #1?
D1n000 000000 Of course
Turks always #1
christmas came early this years ma doods, was just hyping up my friend for some age and here is SOTL to ryle things up
Hey Spirit! Can you remake the Slavs overview and tell a bit more about Boyars...... By the way loved this video!!!
SotL still haven't made a best naval civ video. That's one the things the Saracens are genuinely good at.
You should do monks or defense or navy next. I love these videos.
Thanks for another great video, Spirit! I am already looking forward for the next one. What will it be? The top five cavalry archer civs, the top five navy civs, monks or defenses?
2:00 Camel passing through the wall lol
If you prefer Turks
1. You should use Janissary and Hand Cannoneer (superior to infantry and cheaper) by grouping together. This group is highly effective against all infantries. This group is also very good against the cavalry. The disadvantage of Hand Cannoneers become accessible at Imperial Age. In the Castle Age, the group consists only of Janissaries.
2. You must have Hussars and Light Cavalries against onager and enemy archers. You don't need gold to create them. So you can keep your gold for the Janissaries. They also stall the enemy cavalry. Attack quickly, wander around and draw the attention of enemy units on itself. Thus, the enemy units chasing Hussars and Light Cavalry become the target of the group of Janissaries and Hand Cannoneers. Towards the end of the Feudal Age you can create Scout Cavalries. When it reaches the Castle Age, it will develop directly to the Light Cavalries. You can also create a small number of Knights.
3. Bombard Cannons do the main destruction. You can also use ram in the Castle Age. But during the Castle Age, the Janissaries and the Knights would do well. Bombard Cannons must be protected by the Janissaries and Hand Cannoneers.
4. In addition, you can use heavy camels, heavy cavalry and champions in their close range for protection.
i miss when you used the AOE 2 soundtrack for the background music
Hell yeah ÒwÓ Another SoTL vídeo!
Think you should redo this video since there are a few more top gunpowder civs now. Burgundians and bohemians. How would they fare on this list?
Little Kuriboh and Spirit of the Law both upload. I don't know which to watch. So I flipped a coin and watched you.
Did we already cover top 5 siege civs?
SUPERIOR gunpowerdor civs.
Spirit of the law, you should post some more live gameplay on your channel :)
^Implying that's ever happened before. You, sir, mistook this channel for another one

@@kln5705 When he was beginning, he uploaded a lot of gameplay. I'm not gonna lie, I'm watching him since July , but I've seen like all of his vids
@@termint2113 Yeah, it sucks that he hasn't done it for a log time. i'd love to see him play some online games whether he does good or bad. It is just really interesting.
@SergeantDonut That's also interesting, but i'd also like to see the knowledge in action somewhat.
Great job on that Chinese history reference
Top 5 naval, monk and economy civs next. :)
Spanish and Aztecs are probably the top two monk civilizations, don't know about the rest, maybe Byzantines for a third.
Man i would love if you make a video about how many villagers working in each resource it takes to mantain producction of each unit, i cant calculate all that so i just make units depending on what resources i have gathered and not viceversa. Like a really deep video about economy management.
O i see oyu allready have a "Sustaining Feudal Age Unit Production" video, i would love if you go depper in this subjetc about the eco in the game so we can figure out how to mantain a perfect eco; but that video is amazing pretty usefull. Thank you.
Excellent, as always. We need now a video comparing castles. Is the Celt's Stronghold cost effective? The persian tech is good?
I would really love to see a top 5 trash civs! I just really love building trash and I would be curious to see which civ has the best
We really need the Part 2, because in DE visions, Burgundians、Bohemian or Hindustanis should be in top 5. The hornorable mentions is Lithuanians, it has most gunpowder unit and bombard tower but not any bonus
Do best Cavalry Archer civs!
Hey SpiritOfTheLaw! Great videos always! I am a big fan. Can you make one video on civs with best combination of trash units?
