Hello guys!! Welcome back to my channel and for today's video I will be showing you how a day in a life for me as an IT Support Specialist is like in this new normal. So if you're interested, please keep on watching and I hope you enjoy watching the video. - Наука та технологія
Keep posting!!! I just started out in IT and i love your channel. So informative and tells you what to expect when working in IT :)
Will definitely keep posting! Thank you and glad you like the channel! Yes my goal is to be as informative as possible!
Thanks for this video mam, it helped me a lot, as a data center engineer here in Philippines. I hope more videos about this can be uploaded. I've been watching your other videos po as well. I want to apply abroad. Ingat po jan God bless.
Happy I found this video of yours.
Looking to change careers, always been a lover of tech but have been working for Harley-Davidson as a motorcycle technician.
I like fixing things and maintaining them, so this is right up my alley.
Thank you!
Thank you! Glad my channel is helpful. Yes if you like fixing and problem solving, IT might be the right path for you so you can try learning the basic skills and get some hands-on practice on you own home lab.
@@EastCharmer hi I like your video IT I have degree IT but I don't know how to start IT support so which program I use for IT support special and please make me to how use program and how can start I you read my message thank you
@@user-op3yq8ms7y Hello there! Thanks! I'm glad the videos are helpful to you! hhhmmm if you have a degree, maybe you can do a lot of home labs that will show your knowledge and skills like building a server at home and install IT tool like Active Directory and DNS. You can also add it to your resume that you've created a home lab
@@EastCharmer hello, thanks to reply me but I will work to company not at home so how can start to work or what must be do IT supports to solution when we have problem I will wait your reply thanks for help me
I’m planning to change my career to IT support specialist.Your video inspire me.
aawww I'm glad to hear that! Yeah you should look into it especially if you're a techie and likes to learn new things. It will help a lot.
Wow! It is beautiful how hard working you are!
thank you so much!
Looks like a perfect job for introvert people, thanks for the video
You're welcome!!! Actually we deal with a lot of users so you would still need customer service and communication skills 🥺🥺
@@EastCharmerhow typically do you interact with users? Is it like face to face customer service like working as a barista or more dealing with tickets online and fixing stuff in the office for your co workers ?
@@kudziisuuASMR we interact with customers a lot. and it's both. we deal with user tickets a lot and sometimes we can fix stuff remotely if it's an easy fix like a known issue. but if it's a more complicated issue, we want to interact face to face so we can see the problem firsthand and understand what the user's issue is because most of the time it's hard for them to explain technical issues. Also part of our task is to train users with the new systems and devices so we train them too face to face. And also, we do onboarding of users in the system so we also train new hires in how they should use our system and their devices.
@@EastCharmer thank you for your input I’ve been tossing up a lot of job ideas and a decent chunk of them are in the tech field. I’m currently a barista and people are huge jerks about their coffee :/ so ideally id want something that’s not too much with customer service .
The issue is a lot of it jobs seem to have it? But tech is honestly the only thing I feel I’m good at. I’ll probably do more research .
Hope I can settle on a path soon.
@kudziisuu1286 oh yeah I feel you. There's a lot of coffee snubs out there and customer service is a pain. I was from the medical field before and I transitioned to IT because even if there's customer service, atleast I enjoyed fixing computer issues. Yeah entry level IT is tier1 which deals more with tickets and issues but if you're good with tech you can check out networking, data center and systems admin role. You might still have to go through entry level but once you gain experience for about 2 yrs you can level up to roles that doesn't deal with users. Goodluck and don't give up!!
This was super cool. Thank you luv!
You're welcome!!!!
Great video! Wish you the best!!
Thank you so much!!!!
OMGGGG THIS IS WHAT I WANNTT SOMEDAY HEHE the job ate
nice!! tech is a really lucrative career now. go for it hehe
Nice video. Keep up the good work👍
Thank you!! more videos to come!
Thank you for the video. I'm thinking about going to a network based role versus analyst/ rep. Your lunch looked delicious by the way :-)
You're very welcome! Oh nice! Network is integral in every business enterprise and I find it more interesting than other fields too. Thanks! I've been meal prepping ever since lol
Great content 👍 i wish you upload more daily tasks of it support role
Thanks!!! Oh good idea!!! I will next time
Thanks, I used this video to show what a day in the life of an IT Support Specialist is like!
you're welcome! I love making a day in a life videos at work and there's not a lot of videos out there showing what an IT professional's day is like
Very Nice and informative Vid! Im a UI designer and want to learn more in the IT! I Love your Setup in your room 😍 nice pc/screens and leds ;)
Thanks!! Glad you liked the video! Oh nice! UI designer sounds cool. Do you plan to transition to IT? I actually have a better setup now lol i have 3 monitors now and one is vertical
@@EastCharmer Ow shit I love more monitors and the upsidedown is for coding right? Nce job!! Make a vid. about it.. Gonna SUB you btw!!! I want to work in IT and UI I love to design and I love to help people with computer problems and build pc's and fix technical stuff with monitors, smartphones, speakers, xbox consoles etc.. I don't know what to do haha maybe UI with my own company and IT as work. Or UI wand IT in my own company, but first need to learn more IT. Love to learn new stuff so im a nerd
@@RoyPetrie yeah the vertical ones are useful for coding but I mainly use it for messaging apps like slack or discord so I won't have to keep scrolling down lol. ooohhh you would be perfect in IT if you love troubleshooting!! go for it!! maybe get some certs too to get started and do some projects on the side. UI design sounds cool too. I am trying to move forward now coz I've been in IT for 4 years now lol I am a fellow nerd too!!!
What are some websites I can get certs on ?
Very useful video! Thank you!
You're welcome!!! I'm glad you liked the video
Great Video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m going to be interviewed for technical support specialist role. Watching this video should give me an idea of how this will be like.
Wow! Goodluck on your interview!! I always say it's better to be overprepared!
Is that a thinkpad with an apple sticker? Lol, love it!

you're welcome!!!!
A FILIPINAAA YAYYY FINALLY I FOUND ONE🙉💖💖💖💖
Oohh are you filipina too?? Yaaay!!! 🥰🥰
did you get training or did you have to hit the ground running and figure things out yourself?
I actually have a degree and then completed CCNA training and have a bunch of certs too. But yeah I do stuff on my own to figure it out myself like homelabs
Love the content! I have a question, do you still rely on the internet / online forums if you encounter some problems ? I hope u see my comment. Thanks
Thank you!!! Oh yes of course. We still google a lot of things especially error messages
I see. I was a bit nervous thinking after I graduate and get a job, i thought it's not allowed browse any encounter problems during work. But as you said i felt relieved a bit! Thank you !
@@mayoqshiii3079 oh no don't worry. it's not like school where you're not allowed to google etc. They care more about results at work and you'll be free to look at all resources you need. So I would say , knowing how to google and search properly would be a huge help
@@EastCharmer That felt great ! if that's the case all of my overthinking is about to end finally ! It saves me, I really do appreciates what u all said. Thank you so much
One of the things that my professor taught us while learning how to code was how to use Reddit, stack exchange, and google. He would always say “ It’s impossible for one person to know everything so you always look outside yourself for more knowledge”.
Kabayan! I’m trying to break in the IT industry. I just got my A+. Is there anything you can advise on what type of skills I should learn to get myself ready for helpdesk? Pursuing the networking side of IT. 😊
Hello Kabayan!! wow congrats on getting your A+! Ok so solid troubleshooting skills is a must. Also having really good communication and customer service skill is a key to getting into helpdesk. I also advise you to learn the following coz it would help you in the long run: Active Directory, networking(it's good that you're already working on it) , some cybersecurity basics.
@@EastCharmer copy that! Thank you so much! All the way from MD but originally from Cebu :)
@@stephendan468 you're welcome! Goodluck on your IT journey. oh I see. I've been to Cebu and loved it there
Before landing a job as an IT support special list..what kind of knowledge should I build up?back to my vocational trainee period..I got bunch of network related to certification such as CCNA,CCNP and aws associte?.now i forgot most of knowledge relating to IT..I have no working experiences in this field and even I have no expertise of IT area..would you mind if you give me a feedback or know-how??..
you really need strong troubleshooting skills in both hardware, software, OS. I do have a video on the things you should know when you're starting in IT if you wanna check it out. ua-cam.com/video/uGACkBKjPMQ/v-deo.html . And you can always play with your personal computer like downloading and installing files, command line commands etc. there's also a lot of tutorials online you can take advantage of . It's really important to practice and do a lot of hands-on activities
What would I need to learn to work in a data center 😊 at the moment I am starting school on Monday Oct 23 taking day classes for computer repair and networking when I’m done I’ll be taking my Comptia A+😊
Nice!! That's great! Goodluck on taking A+!! just keep practicing. hhhmm Data Center is not my expertise , it's just a part of my job so I really can't give you all the info but I'm sure you need to learn networking, VMs and servers.
Ok thank you I’ll be watching your videos I’m new to your UA-cam channel
Parang gusto ko din magapply sa work mo hehe, baka may masuggest din po kayo na employer , it staff all around wag lang programming hehe. More on hardware software po
Ay maganda yung ganyan na work sa IT. Hhhmmm try mo sa linkedin maghanap kasi maraming recruiters dun eh
Currently working on my A plus ➕. Do they train you for your current role? I have no I.T experience and I work at call center now
that's great!! I had that cert as well a while ago and it's really helpful. Yes they do train me but most of the time we have to be self sufficient first when trying to troubleshoot issues. And there's also a lot of docs given to follow. But you got to have working knowledge and background on basic IT concepts and troubleshooting as well. Goodluck on your A+!!!!
@@EastCharmer Thank you !! & 👍 thanks for sharing your knowledge 🙏
@@margaritadoza80 you're welcome!! I'm really happy to help and get people into tech too
Technical support engineer and technical support specialist are both are same?
Plz anyonne explain the difference
The titles are really up to the company. Sometimes titles like engineer and specialist are interchangeable and they have the same responsibilities. But in most industries, engineer role will be more senior to specialist. "Engineers" will be dealing with planning technology, system and network infrastructure and the specialist will be dealing with the implementation of those plans most likely.
I noticed that your not wearing hearing protection. Is it loud in there?
it's really loud in there and yes you should wear hearing protection
@@EastCharmer That reminds me. I used to work in IT support at a local dried fruit company. When we needed to go into the production facility, we had to "dress up" as they called it. That involved wearing a hairnet, hard hat, ear protection, and a lab coat. The machinery was pretty loud as well as the constant forklift honks.
What kind of technical word you do in your daily job.
Is kind of system admin?
no, I'm IT Support Specialist
@@EastCharmer thanks fod your reply. what kind of technical stuff do you perform.
@@akashbhosale2919 mostly user support, a lot of troubleshooting, we do some networking too, some server maintenance, vm management
Do you use AD in your daily work routine?
Yes we use AD a lot at work
I don't have any certs, but I'm pursuing a bachelor's degree in IT. Can I get this job position?
yes most definitely! having a degree in IT is helpful as it shows that you already have knowledge with computer and technology
When u worked on your tickets. Did u have to call users to assist them?
Not all the time. We use slack primarily for communication and we can just message them directly there. But for best practice we respond on the tickets first for paper trail
@@EastCharmer on average, how many phone calls u have to end up making to resolve the tickets? And how many calls u get on average?
@@thaoryu1935 actually i don't have to make a lot of phone calls bcoz most of the time remote into the device to resolve issues like we use bomgar for that so it really minimizes the phone calls. On an average daily, I'd say it's rare that we get phone calls from users bcoz they would just open tickets or ping us on slack for issues.
@@EastCharmer wow that's great. I'm curious how often does this happen: let's say you message them on slack and they don't respond to you right away. When they do reply, you are busy doing something else. When u are free to help them, they are busy doing something else too. So you guys end up playing this back and forth.
@@EastCharmer in my job, I have to call them just so that it's easier for user to explain things than writing back and forth. I know that you are using slack to try to ask users to explain their issues, but is it easier to call them n talk to users to explain the issues to avoid confusion? I'm asking bcuz I am trying to convince my boss to use something like slack to communicate with the user so we don't have to rely solely on calling them back. So the more I know how it is working for you guys, the more I can persuade my boss to change how we communicate with users. Thank you
What help desk software you are using at your company? Thank you
hhhmm we use a lot of different software for different things. do you have anything specific in mind?
@@EastCharmer For customers to open a ticket or incident regarding to issues encountered.

Where can i send my resume?
What programs or schools did you go into to get that job ?
