This is why I love UA-cam. I wanted to see the inside of a data center, and this video was delivered to me from halfway across the world. Great content guys!
Would like to see a video of you guy's discussing your certifications and which ones you consider most valuable when trying to get into a DC work environment. Cheers from the US!
that would be amazing, my endgoal in networking and servers is eventually to be qualified for datacenter. I think discussing your certs and what education youve taken to get to where you are now and which books to buy and learn.

You guys are AWSOME! I just got an offer from a tech giant and I am super excited to be doing the type of work that Ash and James are doing. Keep up the great videos. It’s AWSOME that the company allows you to do these informational videos.I have learned A TON watching you gents operate in your day to day. I hope my colleagues are as cool as you guys
I've enjoyed watching the videos of your team at work and the workings of the NOC. Ash is a very good presenter in those videos, but it was nice to see him give the lead to James in this one who did a great job explaining how the ISP to network cableing work. Cheers to both of you from Oklahoma.
Lovely vídeo, i've been working offshore for american datacenters over 14 years, and this is the first time im able to see how cables are routed to a dc. Cheers from Mérida yucatan ,México.
Bit random but I'm a network engineer for a DC in Darwin (northern territory) Australia. We have a customer doing some satellite connectivity for one of their racks. You mentioned one of your satellite dishes is used for connectivity into Australia, you wouldn't happen to know if it's somewhere in Darwin? If it is, hi from us :) haha
My goodness i love a good small harmless office prank. Keeps spirits alive in the night shift where it can get a bit dull. Imma try one of these when I get my job 😂😂
At 3:22 cabling under the floor looks unmanaged. Why are you using an outside plant enclosure under the floor. Don't you have an inside plant FEC system which fits on a wall. Easier to manage, better MTTR?
1 - Use water falls on fibers to reduce bend radius 2 - Do you use labels on cables or other method of tracking? 3 - Use correct cable length, don't drop your customers with 5m slack 4 - Use separate trays for fibers and coppers 5 - Apply in rack cable management instead of looping fibers 6 - Don't put the tile lifter on top of important panels!!!!!
I myself work in a CoLo DC, If i understand rightly did you say your customers connect straight to your carriers? In one of our DC's we go to a main Rack then connect to the carrier.
You were talking about a dark fibre network, are these fibres your own so you dug up everything and put them there or did you buy/rent single fibres from local networking companys that built and maintain the net in the roads?
Hi UK, I have one question please. I see you have satellite dishes, for what purpose is it? Internet 100Gbps port? You sell traffic or buy? Not more expensive like an optical fiber connectivity? Thank you.
What are your main used Routers/switches? Do you have/use Mikrotik Routers? Funfact i have a Mikrotik CloudRouter at home :D I like the many options that this Router gives me compared to a Speedport or AVM FritzBox which is mainly used in Germany.
I'm rather curious how you guys do the security planning/analysis for one of these videos. A large part of any hacking attempt is reconnaissance, and as a datacenter, you're a high-value target. Obviously, you've got a competent security team helping with production (can't imagine management would approve these videos without that). Are there some the things you do (for security) that would never occur to people who aren't in IT?
They didn't show anything that could be considered security sensitive though. The explanation of their network was also very superficial without giving away any actual details.
You guys are the best. What is your title exactly and what do I have to do to do your job. Any Certifications or education? I'm an electrician but I'm thinking of taking my career another route

perfect video! Could you show me where is carrier's equipment, and where is DWDM ? I am very interested in how carrier equipment work together with other parts in DC.
Hey everyone, I’m currently trying to find out how one could make the lives of network engineer a lot easier ;) Which is why I have two very simple questions: 1. As a network engineer, what are the 2 biggest issues you’re dealing with? 2. Regarding your profession, what would you wish for more than anything else? Thanks so much in advance - looking forward to reading your answers!

“How did you do that?”
I did it via UA-cam!
This is a medium to small data center btw. Yes it's high priority but if your talking about the amount of cabinet's, it's small.
They have lots of data floors though
thanks for showing this, very interesting as I work in a DC so learning all the parts is really helpful to support my customers.. :) ! THANKS!!
