Getting Real about Developmental Relationships: The Roots of Student Success and Resilience

It’s easy to say, “it’s all about relationships.” But it can be hard to put that into practice, particularly with the many challenges and obstacles that educators and program providers face. This session from the 2024 Engage Every Student Summit moves beyond talking about why relationships matter to how to be more intentional about creating relationship-rich places and spaces that support student mental health and well-being and build trust and connections with families and other stakeholders. It builds on a 10-year research-and-practice initiative based on Search Institute’s Framework of Developmental Relationships that anchors the work of several National Partnership for Student Success partner organizations.
