Exactly, you could almost see how conflicted he was since the very beginning, all he wanted was his father's love and his father to be proud of him. yet the only father he needed to be proud of him and the love from is the one who adopted him, Uncle Iroh

The song starts about zuko but very quickly is turns to his relationship with Iroh and Azula and I think that’s what makes this the best because like zuko, he thought it was about him regaining his honor but he soon realizes that Iroh is the only family he has that actually matters

I always loved Zuko's journey throughout Avater: The Last Airbender. His development throughout had me locked in more than anything in the show.

can’t stop hitting replay. I can’t believe how much 1. this song relates to me and 2. how much Zuko kinda relates to me. I grew with autism and a big imagination. Avatar (and other animes, yes I know this isn’t considered an anime; don’t care) helped me come up with the ideas for my own story. This song really fills me with a proud nostalgia towards how I’ve grown through my struggles. Like how Zuko gets through his (I don’t have dad issues though)

i usually have a problem with a lot of fan made songs for characters because they always make an explicit reference to something about the character, rather than any of the subtle things that actually matter. Like if this song had made a big deal out of using the word "honor" or "avatar" then it would've lost me like every other one because it's like, not creating anything new and just making music to listen to while thinking about the character. This one though, it shows an interpretation of the character and that adds to it and actually gives it meaning.

I understand exactly what you mean. There is a special subtlety in songs like this. A character can inspire a song but it's not so tied to them that it loses all meaning.
When you've listened to a song so many times that you've literally memorized all the lyrics. Awesome work as usual and ChewieCatt crushed it on this track as well.

I don’t know why but I always love the redemption characters more then the MC. Zuko, vegeta, so on they usually have the best story arcs and push their self harder then anyone else. Great job on the song my friend you have some of the best fan made music ever.

I spent fifteen minutes searching for ATLA songs that sounded good. I stumbled upon this song first. I felt immediately amazed and impressed with the words and emotions. It was almost like I could sense what Zuko was going through. Since he is the most traumatized character in ATLA, it made sense to show that emotion and pain his journey took him through. It's hard to suffer but it's also hard to heal too.
