Yeah!!! 🎉🎉🎉 You wore a mask 😷 ……albeit one you can’t see or breathe through….but better than having all that crap in your lungs. You got a heck of a lot of work done and it is looking good. Marlon is a good friend to you. . So glad that you will have heat soon. Keep moving forward, you can do it! 😊🤗 Kathy
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt YIKES!!!!😳 I am guessing because it fogged up your mask? 😷 Maybe your regular goggles and a different mask. Any mask has to be better than all that crap in the air. We want you alive!!! 😊🤗 Kathy
Doing well mate. Isn't a good feeling .when you can see the end in sight .. As for marlin what a friend that man is to you.. Anyway keep safe and well.
I didn’t know if you could do it, but you did!!! Marlin is a great friend to you and I hope he’s around to have another cruise with you! Go MARLIN!!!!!
Hi James , love the videos . I think you may need to reinforce the backs of the bends you have made in the plywood .they may not stand up to a knock you could use a fibreglass cloth and epoxy . its a technique used in small boat building .good luck with the rest of the build ,
@@TheNarrowboatThatJamesBuilt I was thinking wood and spray foam! Fibreglass will be strong though if you get it to bond OK. Maybe seal it with a light coat of resin first, making sure it doesn't soak through the thin plywood! Perhaps a layer of glass tissue over that before the heavier glass? You don't want a single heavy layup to bend whilst it's setting!
James ,that is looking CRACKING !!! Well classy !! Erm save yourself some cash on damaged boards ... Make yourself an envelope jig.... basic rectangle ,large enough to support routing a large area. Say use M.D.F or manufactured dense fibre board ... Of say 5mm thickness ,make a rectangle shape of around 4 inch wide by 12inch or 16 inch in length, Make sure board is around 40 inch by 20 inch ...then it can float above routed section ,maintaining router depth and balance... If board is flexing ,just brace with 1 inch pine or such around where router doesn't travel .... should save you some trouble with routing ply for all the curves you want to do !! Or there is another cooler option you could make , get a 1 foot by 2 foot sheet of perspex ,clear , of say 8mm thickness ... Router or jig out a letterbox shape remove screws that hold slice plate at base of router ... And mark out same holes ,using removed baseplate as template ... Depth drill the scree holes and fix to base of router ... works wonders , you can see where you are cutting and it will not flew ,plus itll have more area to help cut the width you need !!!! Plenty of vids show this and I've used it myself ,diy circular cuts too !! The router is very versatile !! Just adapt
Unbelievable patience with this process. Just a thought to firm up the bends from the inside. Have you considered use like a paper mâché (newspaper strips and paste) in layers. To build up the thickness of the bends.
Looking good James well done, nice to see the 😷 on even G would of told you off if he had been there with all those wood and glue particles. Looking forward to seeing your stove and you will be warm 😃YAAAAAAH!
What a transformation already James. You must be delighted with how it's coming along. Love those curves too. Look forward to your next vlog. Thank you for sharing your progress. 😊
It's very interesting watching the construction of your galley. But you sure seem to make life difficult for yourself. I think I'll stay with building the frame work, first as my mum taught me. Good luck. I think it's going to look very good once completed.
I'm not sure what the mutt's nuts are, but it sounds like a good thing. ;-). Things are looking amazing. Hi to Marlon--he's a doll; tell him his American accent makes me homesick.
Mate that curved unit is looking absolute boss. Well done bud. So much hard work has paid off. Don't know if the budget allows but how about a nice piece of stainless steel for the stove to sit on? That would look mint.
James , could you make a cover for those porthole ( they look great btw) handles with soft wood ? to prevent you smacking your elbows on them ? you mentioned at the end of the vid that you found them pretty sharp .Sort of like a wood sleeve to cover the steel handles .
I thought a slab of slate or black granite would look good for your hearth 🤔 wouldn’t cost too much as my dad was in the business & there was always off cuts from jobs….. I hope you don’t mind me saying 😁
I’d have loved a slab of granite or slate and of course I don’t mind you saying. Timings didn’t allow for me to buy something so I’ve used some laminate which actually looks really quite striking - not as much as black granite
All the hard work you are putting in now is translating into future wealth for you and your family - worth it.
It's nice to come back from a hard day's work and watch you work😂. Coming along nicely.
Curves are looking great good luck on stove too hugs to Marlon he is a good friend tv now the oldies
Isn’t he just !!! Thanks
That was harsh of you, James, dragging Marlon out of bed before the sun is over the yardarm. And nary a cup of tea in sight. 🍵
Crack on!
I know it was and I can’t even repay him with tea as he doesn’t drink the stuff. Bloody Americans
What a transformation you must be a trained carpenter iam so enjoy watching how you transform wood

Thanks - glad you thought so

I’m going to use glass fibre to reinforce the bends
Didn't know if the resign would bleed thru
Can not wait to see this finished as long as it takes a very long time as loving these vlogs, well done James
It’ll take a wee while I reckon

Thanks - me too !!!
How are you going to reinforce the curves? I'd use fibreglass...
I’m doing exactly that. Glass matting being collected tomorrow

The stove is stainless so that might look a bit weird - I’ve gone for white

Looking good James.
Thanks mate
James, your doing a great job but please get a vacuum cleaner and hoover regularly.
Vacuum cleaner AND a hoover !! It’s not that bad 😂
I've never heard mut's nuts. Made me chuckle.
That’s the problem with Texas. You might have oil and weather (and good food) but you miss out on literary gems like that !!!!
Marlon is such a good guy ! Are we going daily now James ??? Hope your well x
It seems that way at the moment as there’s such a lot to do right now

Top "Aperture Cutting" Young James :-)

James, haven't heard ""the muts nuts" (or similar) for some years! But that all is!!!😀💜
Glad to have reacquainted you with the muts nuts

AS I said the uprights need to be fastened from the back (inside) for removal if required.
It’s not going to be removable at all !!!
I never seen anyone my forms upside down before. I got to tell you there is much easier way… upright.
Don’t know what you think James but I have a multi tool best tool I ever bought
