I came back to this after watching the latest iteration of this historic home on home worthy. I love this deco so much more than the current, overwhelming version that the present owners have created. What a shame.
Wow! What a huge difference. It looked so badly run down in the film, but now thanks to the owners and decorators, it is so magnificently restored, and better than ever. You can appreciate the grounds and parts if the property you could never see before. It was grey now turned into sunshine. This was so great to see. Thanks! 👍👍☺️
It is heartbreaking to see what the current owners have done to this home, as of today, on Homeworthy. It’s a classic example of beautifully restored historic homes, falling into the wrong hands. They have absolutely ruined this home.
Fashion designer Liz Lange and her husband bought Grey Gardens in 2017. They spent lots of money and time on repairing the foundation and structure of the c. 1901 house, as well as bringing the inside back to life, so it will last a long time. It looks even better!❤
Big Edie would of came back herself. She wouldn't send someone else. Are you kidding? If her ghost would of showed up, she probably would of said, "Get out of my house."
@@victorialawhon2251 , I had to try really hard not to do that. She just did it so many times in one short sentence! It's would have, would have and would HAVE, Miss Susieq. Christ on a cracker.
I LOVE that she/they used many items which originally belonged to the Beales!!! Everything so beautifully restored!! I hope the cats were humanely transferred....
Like Sally Q or not , ( l’m in the latter group ) she did an amazing job decorating. The current owners have apparently done a good job shoring up the foundation and strengthening the house .
This restoration was perfect, maintaining the original casual elegance of the house and using much of the Beale's furniture and era appropriate colours and fabrics. The later renovation was ghastly and ripped the soul out of the house 😣
"Big edie picked you, because she knew you'd restore the house to its former glory" ..... yet it was neither "restored" nor even remotely resembling its former appearance. It was almost entirely gutted and remodeled. Glad the house was saved, but this isn't a "restoration", it's a renovation.
This story sounds fishy. So this lady was house shopping in the Hamptons and couldn't find anything, and just happened on the grey gardens house? The documentary had been out and the house was famous. This sale didn't happen by chance and this woman didn't just stumble upon it.
I think both Big Edie & Little Edie , especially, would be happy to see Grey Gardens, as it should’ve been.. P.S.. SALLY.. What do YOU do, for a living? Or who’s your family maam? I’m going to Google..💜 I can’t believe they had all that beautiful furniture, in the damn attic..
The host is weird. His overly enthusiastic and exaggeration of the SIMPLE explanation of the wicker chairs design and details🙄 Calm down sir, it’s just wicker🤨
Why can’t this lady just show us the house? The interviewer is doing everything he can just to keep a straight face. Show us the house and stop with the dramatics.
Sooooo true. The way she stood in the intro! I almost clicked away when she was waving her arms around failing to be relatable. From the beales effortless charm to instant dislike for no reason. She says was chosen? The ironing is delicious.
I saw the original b&w movie, the TV version and they were pistols!!! Little edie was a talented young woman and she was much prettier than her cousin Jackie No...
That's not exactly what she said. And if you're at all familiar with the Beales, it is pretty clear that doing a twirl for accentuation is perfectly in keeping with little Edies personality!
“All it needs is a coat of paint” iconic!

This is what it's supposed to look like. I watched last night on what the new owner has done to this place, and I'm so disappointed.
Thank you, Sally! How beautiful! I've no doubt that Big Edie is pleased.

Sally made this place sparkle. Good job.
The way he was holding those china plates in the garden made me kinda nervous! Absolutely stunning renovation ❤
It took a lot of guts and a LOT of 💰 lol 😂 beautiful restoration
Stunning she was the Right Lady!! Remember watching a Documentary about the two Ladies at Grey Gardens Fascinating!!
I hope all those cats got good homes. That house was all they knew.
That’s all I kept thinking about

Beautiful house I love the house in and out

She would have.
Would "have" not of.

Magnificent restoration of a historical gem.
Absolutely stunning
A dream ! Stunning!
Sally looks great!
Awesome God bless you ❤🙏
I LOVE that she/they used many items which originally belonged to the Beales!!! Everything so beautifully restored!! I hope the cats were humanely transferred....
It’s pretty but I would’ve liked to have seen big Edie’s portrait displayed somewhere in remembrance given it was her favorite place on earth
Like Sally Q or not , ( l’m in the latter group ) she did an amazing job decorating.

She bought this house for less than 250.000 and it's worth about 25 million now
I know this is a nitpicking thing but I wish she would have left the staircase banister black. I love that original design choice
If Big Edie were ABLE she would’ve kept the house and cared for it. I’ll never not be sad looking at this house knowing how both Edie’s suffered.

Sally standing there like trying to look relaxed

Would you rather it was demolished, and a modern farmhouse built on the plot? It most certainly was a restoration to a human habitable dwelling.
this is 18 years ago
This has to be older than a year because Sally Quinn sold it years ago.
The house was sold January 2018 for $15.5M
This story sounds fishy. So this lady was house shopping in the Hamptons and couldn't find anything, and just happened on the grey gardens house? The documentary had been out and the house was famous. This sale didn't happen by chance and this woman didn't just stumble upon it.
I wish her would have pointed out what was original n restored. Would have been more interesting.

The new owner says the furniture had to be restored tho, so it prob cost her an absolute fortune.
@@sarahholland2600 ohh I’m sure! All those damn wild animals in there.. crazy asses
Sally is definitely bourgeois.
Sinc e sold again. the way it looks now took all the charm away sad
That guy is about to lift up and fly away.
Care to clarify your comment?
What in the world does that mean
You people must be young or would get the comment.
You must be a bit daft.

I wish the owners would turn it into a Bed & Breakfast!
Lois wasn't an "old lady"!
Good luck buying a place in NY now. Taxes, mortgage, overpriced real estate. That garden needs cleaning or those racoons will be back.

There’s something unlikeable about Sally Quinn.

Shes harlequins sister.
I give it 20 yrs and she'll become Big Edie.. she's half way there w that twirl and 'ghost' sighting
@@bets9286 She’s an insufferable social climber and she broke up a marriage. Yuck.

Selfish Jackie O could have afforded to give it a coat of paint

Rich people, lol!
Sigh. I hate the tone of this. Seems disrespectful in some way....
Awful decor. Cmon. Ruined all the Arts and crafts touches haha
Horrid introduction from that over the top Barbie.....
This was so hard to get through, her mouth sounds while speaking are just intolerable. 😣
Must be a requirement to be crazy to live in this house. Saying that little Edie was dancing in the foyer when she walked in, is pure hogwash.
Edie was a dancer

Give it back or go to jail too.
I heard it still smells like cat and raccoon urine. You can’t get that out unless you knock it all down.
Another video shows how they had to rip out all the floors and walls down to the studs and joists. They basically rebuilt the house.
Damn I would’ve bought that house asap for that price!!!!!
