‘La Catedral’ by Barrios Mangore - Classical Guitar

This famous guitar piece composed by Agustín Barrios Mangore comes from Paraguay, written originally with just two movements in 1928. The first movement was added in 1938, and is what you are hearing in this video. La Catedral, was supposedly inspired by a visit to the Cathedral of San José in Montevideo. It remains a staple in the classical guitar repertoire to this day. I'm performing at an off grid cabin in Quebec, Canada - check my cabin life playlist videos to see more of it!
I was playing an old and cheap guitar in this video for any of you 'guitar people' out there. My good one was recently destroyed on a flight - courtesy of Iceland air! This one sounds half decent enough in this video, though there are some bizarre buzzes that pop out of nowhere! it's an old Suzuki classical guitar, it must be over 40 years old now!

Ahh glad to have helped. If you look at the lighting in the video, I was very close to the fires, in Quebec actually. The sun was pure orange!

Intricate Allegro! All so very well done...just so fine. I so admire your skill (and know what it took to get there). I hope by now you've been able to replace your destroyed guitar. That's really sad. I lost my 50+ yr old piano about 4-5 yrs ago, too. I tend to use the same touch on the new one as I did on the old one. I keep having to adapt.
I’m on the brink of buying a new one! Ouch, sorry to hear about the piano. It’s amazing how connected we get to certain possessions, they real become close to us!
