Dear friend , thank you for the solution . I have an ACER Aspire A515-41G-145V laptop with the “infamous” keyboard problem . I followed your instructions about the masking tape and finally , I got the laptop's power up button to work again .
Please note (for future reference) that in my case , the only difference (in accordance with your video) is that on my laptop there is an additional switch that when is not pressed , the laptop won’t power up at all . And even when the laptop is powered on , if this switch is not pressed , the laptop turns off . The switch is the SWG1 , it is placed just above the RAM slot , next to the PU502 chip and it is pressed by the RAM's plastic lid . On the laptop showing in your video , this switch is probably optional and not installed but the markings are there . Note that when i was testing your solution , i was using only the battery and not the power adaptor .

Thank You so Much Broo...It worked.This laptop model is one of the cheapest models available in india.So many Poor Guys like myslef had bought this laptop .The power key got complaint during its gurantee period.The service center replaced the keyboard for free...After that, Keyboard got defective every3-4 months...i had to spent near 2500 ₹ for repairing and replacing the keyboard twice..The guy that repaired my laptop said that there is no permanent solution.And that is when i came across this video.I did as you said ,And now it has been about 5 months no sign of complaint with power button till now!!!.Thank you...You are the best❤️❤️

I have the same problem but my power button isn't working too, I just unplugged the keyboard and the laptop is now going on without it's key pad plugged in.
When I plug it in, the laptop is shutting down.
When it's off, power button isn't responding, but when you press any other key, it will go on and go off

All the new laptop have keyboard issues especially acer. I have to change my keyboard every 3 months. And i have changed it for more than 4 times. All these keyboards in India have only 3 months of replacement warranty. And after that they are dead. IS THERE ANY WAY TO REPAIR THIS LAPTOP KEYBOARD.

or if its suitable for you like it was for me on my aspire 3 315 53 you can cover only the 1st two lines on the left and turn the laptop on like the video and use the original built-in keyboard normally. and only make the laptop sleep when you're done using it so basically just keep it running , that is no problem for me cuz I done it before with another laptop and kept it running for 2-3 years as I was using it as a router cuz my router broke at the time. if you shut down the acer after covering the first two lines or it gets shut down by mistake you'll have to open it and turn it on again however you can restart without problems. I've been using it like that for 3 days everything works fine and I'm writing this comment using the built-in keyboard, only thing is when I close the setting, the task bar refreshes harmlessly, that's it.

@@rafaelrivera6399 anu exact model ng sau bro? kung katulad ng akin ung sayo a315-41g-r4bw, mahirap tanggaling keyboard kc talagang ccrain mo ung plastic na prang lock sa keyboard nya sa loob. mas mgnda bumili ng full housing na andun n nkakabit ung keyboard, mas mahal lng ng konti.
pra ma access ung keyboard, kailangan mo halos tanggalin lahat, from battery to mobo ng laptop. tpos may metal bracket pa na naka hold ang plastic plastic locks imbes n screws lng, tlgang masisira sya pra lng matanggal mo keyboard mo.
