Q: My Key Cap will not click down in place correctly. What's wrong?
A: If the key assembly is not installing correctly, its either due to a component being damaged and needing to be replaced or a component not being orientated correctly. I would disassemble the key as seen here in this video and inspect for damage. If there is no damage, install the key. If there is damage, replace the key. Would you like help locating a key? If so, what is the brand and model for your computer?
Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?
A: If any components is too damaged or broken, you will have to replace it. I usually get my keys on Ebay or www.replacementlaptopkeys.com. If you cannot find a loose key for sale, you may have to purchase a keyboard and take a key from there.
Q: I have a Key or Keys that are not working. Will this fix them?

Q: The hinge clip came apart into two pieces. How can I reassemble?
A: They fit together with a small plastic pin on the left and right of the inner clip. These fit into holes on the outer clip. To see exactly how the inner clip sits in the outer clip, remove another key cap and copy the clip under it.
Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.
Q: The retainer clip came off with the key cap. What do I do?
A: Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, using a small flat pry tool.

my F9 and F10 key fell off, when i push down the key, it wont snap

Remove the Cap and inspect for damage or that its not laying down flush and properly snapped in itself. Compare to another Clip if needed by removing another Cap.

question, i think the retainer clip of one of my keycaps got separated into two pieces (one piece for the middle and the other for the sides), and i'm currently having trouble trying to put it back. is this thing broken or is it possible to make it work properly again? thanks!

I broke my entire key with the rubber bit lost the everything lost and every time I use that key “W” key to be specific I cut my fingers so in 2 days I’m getting a new keyboard

can you show to fix hp 15 series keys the retainer caps kinda diff
All retainer clips will be slightly different but the are all basically the same construction. What issue are you having with them?

My rubber but is ripped off would I be able to put it back on with super glue or will that not work?
@@PC_Monkey I think I may put a little pit on the the tip of a screwdriver and kind of ‘draw’ a circle with the glue. I’ll let you know if it works

This would be the same way you remove and install keys on most laptops as they are all constructed basically the same :)

What do I do if the pins cannot hook up to the key retainer?
You would have to figure out if the metal pins on the keyboard are bent out of place or if the hinge clip being damaged is the cause of the issue. Then replace the one that needs to be replaced

I did the first part but once I try pushing the key down it doesn't work.

Every keyboard is different. You would have to remove another Key Cap from another key and look at the way the Hinge Clip is orientated to see.

You should be able to remove it by using as small flat screw drive as seen here

LOL this video is a tutorial on how to replace a key. This 'fixes' a key if the key is physically damaged. If you key is not physically damaged then your on the wrong video. @@mozgim7894 As far as I know, that does not have a backlit keyboard option but I could be wrong. Do you see a Backlight button on one of the function keys? What about your owners manual? You can also enter your computer's serial number on the Acer website for full specs :)

But what therapy is this? Will this repair a dead key by being able to clean it better? I sure do NOT want to remove the white plastic that breaks easy
