The outcome really does not matter. The UFC leads fighters to believe that if they go against the UFC, you're committing career suicide. Francis fought the odds and got everything that he wanted. He never wanted to be a boxing champ, only the opportunity to compete.

Yeah but how many other people is that really going to work out for?.. If some random journeyman leaves the UFC he’ll just end up competing in a sub par MMA organization like Bellator and end up getting paid less with less notoriety to your name.

It makes sense though, the MMA fighter knows how to box/strike since it’s one of the many disciplines you need in MMA, whereas a boxer does not wrestle/grapple on any level in their profession. The middle ground will always be boxing because that’s the only discipline a boxer knows.

He did better than many predicted but not as good as Chael thinks. Floyd threw 9 punches per round on average through the first 3 rounds(intentional)
Then he picked up his volume in the 4th to 31 total punches thrown and outlanded Conor every round from there until the end of the fight.
Conor did land a lot more than many predicted but a lot of his punches were what boxers call “arm punches” meaning they didn’t really have any steam on them or power hence why Floyd being 25 lighter and 15+ years older just walk forward with his guard up once he realizes in boxing gloves, Conor’s power didn’t translate.

A punch by a massive puncher is still a big danger, just because fury fought wilder and got up from his punches doesn't mean he can take that same punch and shrug it off again, sometimes it's shots you don't see, or when you get caught throwing yourself.
I've obviously got fury like everyone else does but I'm seeing this argument everywhere and it's silly.

The fighters with the best hands are bare knuckle boxers not traditional boxers. The best strikers are kickboxers/ mui thai. When it comes to real life street fights. That should be the standard . What happens in real life if you fight, not sport. Boxers and mma guys do bare knuckle and get beat down. In a street fight boxers and bare knhckle boxers arent ready for elboxs and kicks/ knees. The body position needed and how to defend ect.

I don’t understand why we’re supposed to be “happy”. How’s a guy who’s from where he’s from act like he’s been treated so badly in the states.. We’re not happy for him because we are fans and we don’t know him personally. We want to see the best fight the best why would we care that a rich guy who already defied all odds got richer .. so now he’s close to 40, he’ll grab this bag and leave us.. as fans what do we get.. some one off mismatch with a padded ruleset.

Years later they're all still blind. Or delusional.
Never ever have I witnessed Mayweather walk forward for 3 to 4 rounds, let alone the 1st 3 to 4 rounds and just allow his opponent to take off on him. It was clear Floyd had no respect for McGregor's hands.
Finally he got busy. Took him 2 rounds to get bored, and he finally began to do away with him.
I love MMA, but the MMA sheep gotta spin it some sort of a way. Especially the Conor sheep.
Floyd did this at what, 42 years old? Hahaha. 😂

I think you are wrong. Fury has the fewest strikes landed against him per round in HW history. He has the best defense ever. I think he should wear francis down and used all defense the first few rounds like mayweather did and then when hes tired go all in and beat francis down. It would be stupid to go all on offense when francis if fresh and risk getting caught. If he uses defense at first he also has time to get a feel for franciss striking. What to look out for ect... fury had no tape to watch of francis boxing. He has no idea what his angles are or his tendencies are. Thats risky

The biggest promoter is more interested in performing sexual favors on trump, hitting his wife, running slap league, and putting on the Musk/Zuckerberg fight than he is about the growth of the sport.

Francis is never winnng by decision. Vitor Belfort blitz and win inside first 2 possibly 3 rounds or may as well get corner to throw towel in. He’s got a punchers chance but he’s up against the greatest heavyweight alive with an outstanding chin no fear of being hit and amazing recovery. First wilder fight fury was way out of shape, and still drew even tho most people thought he won. Anthony Joshua would have been the best fight for Francis as he goes into his shell when hit. Against Wilder it would be a slugfest, but he’d have more of a chance as wilder doesn’t like taking heavy hits. Tyson fury is at another level, a man who has fought from early childhood, even if he doesn’t train too hard I wouldn’t pick Francis. Got to admit I’m looking forward to it. Of all the fights on horizon. Jon Jones v stipe , adesanyav Ddp, fury Joshua, (jake Paul v Nate 🙈jk)would be ahead of it, but it must be inside top 5 of fights that are booked for me

Using floyd v mctapper is a false equivocation as floyd was old and naturally much smaller than mctapper, being honest he also took it easy for several rounds as he clearly enjoys being in ther with little threat coming back at him , boxers beat mma in a boxing fight and mma beat boxers in a cage its that simple , i doubt Ngannou could trouble the top 20 in boxing

  • @bgbg418
    @bgbg418 11 місяців тому

This fight is likely to put people off the "crossover" fight fad imo. Fury isn't a "boxer", he's one of the best heavyweights for a looooong time. Nobody anywhere near his size has moved like him in any era. He's literally a master of his style. Conor vs floyd wasn't close. That's just what mma fans see when they watch a boxing match. Like when a boxing fan watches a muay Thai fight/ or a grappljng match its hard to even tell who's winning unless it's super dominant. There are SO MANY nuances and details that someone on furys level has down to instinct and muscle memory. More than Francis can literally ever learn. I'm not a fury fan to be clear, I think he's a bellend, but it is what it is.
"Yea but fury is one of the best boxers ever he definitely might tap jon jones". That's what it sounds like to a boxing fan.
