Another interesting video. The Clackmannanshire Tower Trail definitely deserves to be better known.
Agreed. Thank you so much for watching Claire x
@@scotlandshistory No problem
Great video! I have been in the Alloa tower, there was a reenactment going on when I was there.
It's a really nice example of one. Thank you so much for watching Martin.
5☆. I enjoyed that.
Thank you! x
I can't help wondering why people would write down that they found an ash sapling in a ruined building. Firstly because...well.... who cares, and secondly because I keep pulling saplings from my garden because ash seeds have those cool helicopter-like blades on them and during autumn they go *everywhere*, for miles, it's not remotely unlikely that a few hundred would land on that roof and take hold.
The whole curse is so wonderfully generic that you could probably find a dozen other houses where the same thing happened.
I do love the history of the tower though, just the fact that so much has happened to and around it and it's still there.
It's all just part of the legend, I guess. It's a lovely example of a tower house. Thank you so much for watching.
I wonder how much of said curse was uttered originally and how much was added over the centuries to fit
That's a good question!
More Breingans live near this tower 😂. Great vid
There's definitely a fair few of them in Clackmannanshire. Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
4:28 is that inside the Alloa tower?
No, it's nearby on a path. Thank you for watching! x
