I was hoping she'd have that lovely lilting Dutch / English accent that my distant cousins have (I last visited Rotterdam, Den Haag and Zoetermeer years ago), sadly not - but she sings and strums very nicely. OK - so the one I'd compare her more to is Knulp, she's very strong on her stringed instruments (she plays a dual neck 6-string guitar siamesed to a 12-string harp), and also sings very sweetly - check her out too.

Grace has been let go by Columbia records which she sees as a good thing because, in my opinion, they have poorly managed her career over the last 8 years but all the music she produced under those years they refused to let her have (over 40 songs that they just let sit there without promoting them) so she has had to start all over with her new label, Pulse Records. She said that she feels so much more freedom to write the music she wants with her new album and her style has changed so much over the years, which is to be expected, because she started writing music at age 11 or so. She has an album coming in the spring of 2025 and she said it's sort of experimental.. she has been releasing a couple of songs from the album including Call it What You Want and What's Left of Me with music videos and she performed two other songs from the album live called Brand New and Homesick. She has also released unplugged versions of Call it What You Want and this one.. Pretty sure Grace showed up on AGT before Eilish and Rodrigo came along, we just had to wait til she aged a bit to find out what her adult voice would be. She's pretty much been on all the late night talk shows, and famous singers that meet her claim they are amazed by her. She didn't exactly cooperate with her labels when they expected her to do typical Pop music so Columbia just dropped her. This part you won't like. AGT's Simon Cowell called her the Next Taylor Swift which Grace took as a nice compliment. But when asked about Taylor she said she didn't listen to Taylor but wanted to sing with Katy Parry. Her originals are done so well that she doesn't have a bad one. She has an amazing way that makes you feel every song she sings. It's better to watch her live but her videos are great also. I recommend Beautiful thing or Darkness keeps chasing me or In my blood as a good start. She is an amazing singer and song writer.
