This is the set that got me into Car Culture and serious Hot Wheels collecting in general.
The details on these and the whole "less is more" theme are just immaculate. I could sell almost every other premium car I've got but I would never let these go.
OMGOMGOMG so happy I got my order in at A and J. Opening a set and keeping a set carded. These models are just so perfectly minimalist; classic Japanese style. And the card art is just BONKERS!!!
Pretty sure I drove Ken nuttso with emails asking when it's going on the site LOL. Had to get my Japan Historics One set piece-meal, just waiting to take delivery of the Datsun 510 Advan wagon..wait!!!! Did I hear Hakosuska Wagon????? (the crash you just heard was me falling off my chair)

You don't have to apologise for JH1 you know. Plenty of people in my HW circle prefer JH1 to 2. But like you said, JH2 is something else and pays homage to actual car culture, not 1:1 cars they're based on. Those colours, wheels and stances, straight out of a Kyusha car meet.
OMG!! These cars are pure beauty. Impeccable. Most beautiful set of cars Mattel’s ever done. Chrome wheels on real riders. No big tires on rear axle. No tampos. Nice clean styles all the way around. Works of art for sure.

I love the clean look of this Japan Historics set. And i prefer the headlight and tailight detail wich adds a lot of personality to the models instead of crazy tampo work on the body and no light tampos. Yes, they're more expensive but i think every collector would like to have at least one set, particularly if you're into JDM collecting. Thanks for showing these.

Being a classic Matchbox fanatic, I love seeing hot wheels with nice, simple rims and a decent paint-job not covered in decals
Really hope hw makes basic models of Laurel and Skyline. Those are just so cool body styles and may look good with black steelies, plain colors and with detailed front- and rear-lights.
Just got the Z and RX3 at my local target. They look great.

You are absolutely right I was very disappointed with Japan historics 1 I didn't even buy them but these Japan historics 2 I have actually bought four sets and just today I went and bought another set I found on eBay at a really good price I love what Hot Wheels did with this set

In the last preview, didn’t they say that the RX-3 is supposed to have chrome wheels? Here it’s grey. Does that mean there’ll be a variation??
Ficki Bicki it was mixed up. The grey wheels are standard. Haven’t heard of anyone finding the chrome but time will tell.
I grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard and my son loves it know. We go to all of your events and we have meet most of you. The Dukes of Hazzard represents family and a good time with friends at no time did it ever show racism. The General Lee and the Rebel flag are an important part of our history. We can't change history we can only learn from it and make our future better for our children. So no I don't think that the show should be taken off nor should the flag be taken down or off The General Lee.

This is definitely a very beautiful set, no doubt, but I find some of the models a bit repetitive, namely the RX3 and 510. As nice as they both look (really like the 510), they've already been used too many times in Car Culture before and don't really shine here. I'd rather see some other fresh models (Toyota Celica, Mk3 Supra, Nissan 300ZX). Needless to say, the Laurel and Skyline are the highlights for me, especially the Skyline. Both look stunning and actually feel premium. JH2 is all about these two star models, and the other three are just supporting cast.
While all that is good, I still don't get the price hike. I mean, we were already paying more than twice the price of mainlines and the full tampo was supposed to be done by default. Instead, we're told we will have to pay even more if we want full tampos and details. Sounds like cheating to me.

I dread to think what you guys must be expected to find for each one. We are charged about £6/7 per model for Car Culture stuff(like the female superhero vans). They have a good right not to do more than five. About £35 over here.
I get angry a little detail ramps up the cost but I bet the wages bill at the factory has gone.up & for some reason, a load of lazy arsed shareholders are entitled to get a wedge to sit around a table doing **** all.

The Nissan laurel 2000 SGX is like Kim kardashian famous for its rear.
The green car's rear panel tampos are not even with each other (one side compared to the other side). Things like that, in a premiere series, shouldn't make it thru quality control.
virgil fulton My Datsun 510 got one rear wheel stuck inside the arch and the tempo on the same side is printed at the wrong position(which is the side you can’t see outside the peg).Talk about quality control...
